5k+ Regen left, 75% from 12k is something around 9k that she can heal. That means she took out all those Characters and 4 full Stacks ... and only took 4.000 Damage / one Third of her Health. Given that she has Earthblood i think she beats Malus by a lot.
Not to mention the second health regen she gets in dragon form. So that's even more potential health she had in reserve

Miao ying gets ward save for her army against chaos factions from her unique line, she was most likely losing this bonus when she was turning into dragon, therefore it'd been slightly better to use talisman of preservation(max ward save) or crystal of kunlan(another STACKING mortis engine style fire explosion effect with +5% ward save) and earthblood than jade blood amulet, or just get wurrzag/siggy trait to complement the ward save.
Zhao ming gets ward save ability against everything, a passive regen ability, the alchemy melee buff(and potentially poison/fire), with lore of metal magic (final transmutation on mixed blobs is efficient). So he is mariginally easier to make into one man doomstack, but every time i compare the 2, miao ying generally draws the win in dps(potentially due to animations ESPECIALLY in dragon mode).
tl;dr both of them are nearly as good, zhao easier to make and use, but good arguments for him being slightly inferior exist.
I dont know if you noticed but the catalytic kiln in the video didn't seem to need being in melee as a requirement for it to activate. When Legend turns into a dragon around 21 minutes in if you look at the chaos spawn hp it is taking damage from the catalytic kiln while Legend is flying safely above it. I feel like this could be abused somehow just kill all the ranged units and go afk for a bit.
Give up her melee regeneration for 5% more ward save for dragon form, less of a bonus in the more important human form, and is covered already where physical resist counts? No, I think The Hunger talisman was the better call. Even if she can heal herself with magic it could be tricky to heal dragon form and an all around pain in the ass. This way there's more option for offensive magic too.
I always found Miao's dragon animations to be pretty derpy and to not connect even at maximum ma. Zhao Ming on the other hand in intrinsically stronger, having way better animation and being able to go well over 2k ws thanks to metalshifting and strenght of Yang.

This is beyond one man doomstack and going into one man end time stopper.
Funny thing about the Catalytic Kiln. Unlike other Mortis effects, it doesn't require the user to be in melee. So against a melee only or melee majority army like WoC with few flyers, and with the Sword of Khaine or any other source of Unbreakable, you could cheese it by turning into a dragon and just hovering over the enemy and slowly (very slowly) tick away at them with the kiln without worrying much about taking damage.
Cathay also has another item that does the same. The Kite of the Uppermost Aeries also gives an AoE Mortis engine but only against flying units.

So friggin cool! I never imagined Miao Ying could reach this sort of power level, it looks really fun.
She's stupid strong. It takes a bit of micro but she's so good
bruh she is an absolute unit. She litteraly the best thing WH3 gave us imo.
She's one of the best, but believe it or not, her brother is even stronger than she is when maxed out. He has regeneration built into his talent tree and Lore of Yang is a lot stronger than Lore of Yin. He also has final transmutation which would have deleted everything in this army in a giant blob (infantry, heroes, and lords). I love the dragon siblings and I can't wait to get more of them in future DLC's.

Yeah it looks really fun not having to use any tactics and just cheesing it in a strategy game because it's so stupidly broken.

If she gets disrupted while changing to a dragon, it keeps her disrupted in her dragon form.
That is a really penalizing bug.
Oh thought it had something to do with changing to human while landed or something that bugs put the dragon the next time

I tried to make a one man doomstack with our good boy: Daniel. :)
I used the trait manager mod and instant glory mod, because I didn't want to spent eons doing this. Then I tried my best to select the items combination that would give him the best stats.
And............ It sucked. :)
Daniel was struggling to agaisnt not 2 full stacks of tier 1-2 units............in normal difficulty. X'D
There are generic lords that can be a better one man stack than Daniel, a legendary lord and god killer. This is both so sad and funny at the same time. XD

I don't run many mods except for certain campaigns. For his I HAD to put on the stronger gifts mod because those things gifts suck ass compared to the regular gear he isn't allowed to wear. Made his campaign much more enjoyable. In my opinion, no generic lord should ever be better than a legendary lord and CA really dropped the ball with that. In the realms of chaos campaign prior to mods, he was only really useful as a mortis engine.
@@CrimsonUltrafox if you look on my vid with the khorne daemon prince on the front, he has the best traits possible, and a chainsword and was still crap. For the UD prince there is a better combo but i';m on turn 200 save scumming and i still cant get it. need to be the eaxct 4 or it wont work
Considering there is little to no lore about Cathay, I'll consider this 100% canon
Technically it is since the dragon kids are ancient god-like beings. I mean their parents the Dragon Emperor and Moon Empress are practically gods who have been alive before the Old Ones even made it to the world. It's not unreasonable to assume this is possible. Granted characters like Archaon, Malekith, Teclis, and Morathi are way stronger in lore than they are in game. Like Malekith Morathi and Teclis know all the lores of magic. Teclis is without question the best mage and he feels a bit weak compared to your average archmage lord. Plus, Malekith knows Qhaysh and Dhar, but only uses Dhar in game. I don't know why Malus Darkblade has so much ward save in game when in lore he doesn't have anywhere near the protection granted by Malekith's Armour of Midnight. Slann should be way stronger than they are in game too. I mean they move tectonic plates with their minds. Orion should be WAY stronger than he is in game too since he's a demigod/god-avatar. I find it a lot more believable that a dragon of Cathay could canonically fight a chaos army by themselves, but it seems silly to think Malus could actually fight all of this in the lore.

@@huleyn135Cathay is fairly isolationist, and even if they didn’t get attacked by enough forces to at least pin their armies during End Times, the journey from Cathay to The Empire, where most of End Times is focused, is a matter of months. No way Miao Ying is leaving her post to chase someone she’s probably not even heard of.

Hey Legend if you looked when Miao Ying was in dragon form her catalytic kiln was still active even when she wasn't in melee. It was dealing damage to the chaos spawn while she was flying safely above them.
I just started playing Total war with no experience of playing it after watching your videos and i gotten myself beaten left and right.

Zhao Ming has Lore of Metal. If he is just as resistant as her. I bet he can do army losses even quicker.
Zhao has only one good lore of metal spell and that is final transmutation (which he can't use in dragon form) the others are plague of rust and glittering robe which are crap spells. Miao is a better caster and it's not close.
However, what Zhao has going for him is natural regen which allows him to equip the talisman of preservation and be at the ward save cap all the time (just get Imrik's trait for the fire resistance).
Imo there isn't an appreciable difference between the two, both are pretty much invincible no matter what you throw at them, i know for a fact Miao could have won this battle afk and i don't doubt Zhao can do it as well.
@@JustSome462 Yes. The Final Transmutation is what I'm talking about. It saved me in a battle against two stacks of Helman Ghorst. I had a very cheap army and wanted to crush him before he got too strong.
My troops quickly started to rout and run out of ammo. Then I cast Final Transmutation 3 times and it changed from me getting crushed to army losses on the dead. 10/10 spell

Zhao Ming spells are way better in this specific situation. Final transmutation does exeptionally more damage to mixed blobs like the ones that happend here and Constellation of the dragon is a bombardment that has a way better range that Talons. They are respectively better at dealing with both small and single entities as they blob. The thing here is that Ghyran is useless when you already regen and dont have axcess to Dwellers below. Talon is strong but I doesnt metter that you can use it in dragon form cause you are never going to.
Zhao Ming can also go far beyond 2k ws in dragon form because of both metalshifting and power of Yang. Had he fought here, the battle would have ended way erlier. In fact he dosent even need the SOK and would have left this battle without a scratch as he has 76% Ward Safe anyway... such is his power.
@@6XenYang9 Constellation of the dragon is way worse against infantry than Talons, it's really not that good of a spell tbh, it costs way more and doesn't kill much more.
Sure final transmutation helps but you also generally don't fight 30+ single entities or monstrous infantry, this isn't a normal battle.
And either way it's all really just theorycrafting on who's better in an imaginary scenario, i can guarantee you she can literally win this battle without touching mouse or keyboard and end it at full health, the spells are just there to speed up the inevitable but there is genuinely no difference in the outcome between using them or not.
Also i guarantee you Zhao would need the SoK to win this battle, he ain't beating those four legendary lords while taking a fourth of the damage rather than a tenth (actually half damage when Archaon casts flaming sword which he did a lot in this battle).
So, she only went through like half of her regen on ONE form. That's 1/4 of her health pool, 1/8th of her total health including dragon form. And she went up against way bigger of a threat than Malice. She's gotta be worth at LEAST four times as much as he is, that's insane

Hilarious how bad magic is to monstrous/single target.. spells that flays the flesh off a hundred elite soldiers, and a single mostly naked giant is like... ohh that tickles!
Dragon form is bugged atm. You lose all your abilities aquired from the skill tree like foe-seeker, and deadly onslaught. This wasn't the case before 2.3
Its not bugged. Active abilities dont work in dragon form exept the ones that are specifically listed to do so. Its all in the skill tree. The only one that seems odd right now is the ward save agaist Chaos skill thats causing that drop to 85% ward safe.

I got the bejeweled dagger around turn 100 on my Cathay campaign and it was at a Greasus settlement so I just assumed that was what Greasus gives and that I had somehow missed him with earlier caravans. Didn't realize it was RNG. So I thought "Wow, I wonder what other cool stuff I can get from other factions?" And sent my next caravan to a settlement controlled by Valkia. That caravan got death.

Don't know if you know this now, but I think you can keep track of how much heal cap is left if you mouse over the "blood drop" symbol that displays next to the numerical HP value when you select a unit.

Don't know if you've done it yet, but seed of rebirth, the bugmans regeneration, and the isabella trait on Belegar Iron hammer.
Imagine with some heroes with the stalk item and magic regen items. Mastery of the elemental winds would just turn talons of night into the ultimate blender.
That's what the heroes in that region are for, usually she has six stalking heroes with her, obviously i had to remove them for this though

The movement bug happened to me last time too.. I had a flying lord land "through" one of the stone heads next to a tomb king gate, and that was that.. Couldn't move, couldn't fly..

I like MY for her army buffs a little better than ZM, though for fighters they can both destroy. Both have access to fairly good lores of magic. Albeit you're locked out from a lot of it when in dragon mode i find that i like to keep them in human form more unless they need to duel.
Zhao will probably be stronger, he is more melee focused than his sister Miao. And he has the regen build in his kit, with imrik not so far away to get his fire resistance. He also has the armywide melee buffs and wardsave around him, but I'm not entirely sure he gets those buffs, but I think so. Magic wise I don't remember exactly what he got but I don't think he has anything nearly as good as talons of the night, so he might be a bit worst in the magic department, but he still has good magic, the sword of khaine and better melee, although I wonder if said better melee is even necessary or if it's overkill.
True, she also gets the perk where she gets healing any time she is casting a spell. I think they are both capable of being ridiculous one person doomstacks
@@christopherjones7191 Indeed, and even withouth it she has lore of life healing spells, but passive healing is better as you can dedicate your limited winds of magic to casting nukes
With 89% ward save, those resist traits are taking important slots
You can get resist traits and swap item giving ward save for a weapon strength item or something like that

Zhao Ming is definitely better. He gets +5% ward and regen from skills which means he might not even need the sword of khaine for the cap since he wont have to use the Jade Blood Pendant Miao Ying is using that gives her regen, so it can be replaced with a ward item instead. Then theres the fact that Catalytic Kiln gives fire weakness, which is his preferred form of aoe dmg. There is also the caravan item(I cant quite remember the exact details of what it does) that also affects fire dmg.
Zhao Ming also have his alchemist abilities which would help with dueling and might put him on par with Malus in that aspect?
There is also the fact that both of them are mortis engine units with Catalytic Kiln, which does not even require them to actually be in combat. They can just fly over whatever they want to die and it will slowly perish, which means most things cant even fight back.

Bit late pointing this out, but I decided to look back at the Malus Darkblade One Man Doomstack and I saw something curious. Miao Ying here has 12215 Health here, Malus had 6474 in his test. So Miao Ying, in one Health Pool, has only 733 health less than Malus has with both health bars.

Weren't the lords too low leveled? She was maxed while Archeon was level 23 and rest were also between level 20 and 30. I think she will have a harder time if they were fully leveled as well. Don't know if she will be worse than Malus, but the enemy lords weren't hitting her at full strength.
It doesn't really matter, i fought this in a ideal condition for them (meaning i launched the battle and left the pc for half an hour) and when i came back she had won at full health without even issuing commands. She is virtually invincible, the AI simply can't do anything to her.
Cathay campaigns all devolve into throwing your dragons at the enemy then going afk

I think the bug might be that you are not suppose to be able to change form when the battle is over, and despite not saying it maybe some kind of secret hidden info is saying that's it's over, like maybe one of the army had army losses

Miao getting stuck in her dragon form pisses me off to no end. Happens to me far too often. For a while I didn't know turning her back out of dragon form would fix it

To make these comparisons fair, maybe its worth asking the guy for the console commands so your 1 lord doomstack is always fighting the same mental opponents. This was great though! Definitely feels like she's able to just put the hurt down much faster.
There is a mod for it on the workshop, but that said it wouldn't replicate the army, i simply teleported what they had recruited on their own to my position

Legend needs to look into Isabella's defeat trait again. It doesn't work anymore, and it hasn't worked for months. She doesn't return as a lord in vampiric ascension, only a hero.
Can both Zhao Ming and Mao Ying do this? That would be epic. I could get a one man doomstack on her... then save it... get a Zhao Ming one man doomstack... and make them a sibling doomstack.
Zhao Ming is even better in melee, than Miao Ying, since he get's more melee defence and higher physical resistance, but a he's also a much weaker spell caster.
