    Just as a reference or a small correction. It is not necessarily true that tracing an image makes it your own art (especially for commercial use). Tracing isnt always plaigarism but it can stoop to that if it is a blatant replica. Say i want to trace an image of a specific monkey. If I do it perfectly and make a real replica, then i am plaigarizing the work. However, say I then draw the monkey in space, which was not in the original image. This is not plaigarism, as you have given context to the monkey. That is not the only rule as well. There are so many to look out for. Just be careful when using tracing

      @@MrMohammadCS No problem! Thanks for teaching me how to use Krita! I used to work in Adobe illustrator and then I lost my subscription so you saved me having to pay for the subscription to use it again

      It's still plagiarism if you don't contribute enough alteration or alter the 'monkey' in a significantly creative way, no matter what background you put it on. The only grey area for this is if you KNOW where the image comes from and you have a specific license or its a CC0/specially-licensed image for free public use (personally & if needed, commercially), but even then, there are always details you need to read inside that license and further still, without the above requisite 'creative contribution', it can still be considered a case of IP theft. Also, it's SUPER important to know that there is a BIG difference between 'copyright free' and 'royalty free', just like there's a huge difference between 'free for personal use' and 'free for commercial use'. Copyright is an important subject in the art world and its the responsibility of everyone who participates to have a fundamental understanding of it if you're going to display, let alone monetize your work. The art community is an awesome and generous one, but it's one where we are disrespected and taken advantage of constantly and blatantly and it has a HUGE effect on people's careers and work.
      As an alternate example, however, a truly responsible and useful application of this tutorial/tool would be to digitize your hand-drawn work. A lot of us enjoy the sketching process with traditional pencil and paper methods, but once scanned in, this can be a really nice way to create clean and neat line work on a new layer.

    This is EXACTLY what I needed! I'm used to using The GIMP's pen tool and adding a point in between two points to perfect the curve. This is essentially the same thing. I couldn't get the hang of click dragging with the bezier curve but this is a game changer. Thank you!

    There's something wrong with what I'm trying to replicate your tutorial. When I make a new paint layer to use the Bezier tool, I can't select on the line itself and can't edit it. Is something wrong with this?

    • @ahmadibnfadlan7462
      @ahmadibnfadlan7462 Před 2 lety

      You need to create a vector layer and do the bezier stuff on it, it won't work on regular layers.

      @@fo1711 I use the handles of the curve while I'm placing them in to create the shape. So when I'm finish with the line it already has the curve properties I want. This guy draws all the line straight first then edits. I draw and edit at the same time. His method is really useful if you aren't using a scroll mouse.
