  • In this 87th Video from Classic Car ChitChat you will get to meet a gentleman who uses assistive technology that allows him to pursue his passion of Classic Cars. This gorgeous Ruby Red 1936 Plymouth 2 Door Sedan has been specially modified to allow the Hot Rod to be driven with specialised hand controls that allow the operation of the brakes, and of course the gas pedal which Jim loves to show off! The Hot Rod also has a custom-built lift system that allows Jim to safely access the vehicle from his Wheelchair from the Passenger Side.
This 1936 Plymouth 2 door has a timeless iconic design that has been sought after by countless car collectors. Plymouth has always been renowned for creating reliable vehicles and was also aimed at the working classes back in the pre-war era. The car offers incredible smooth handling with a plush and comfortable interior too!
In case you are keeping Track this is Video # 87 of Classic Car ChitChat Videos!
I hope my Classic Car ChitChat video’s make you smile. I do them in my spare time because I truly love cars and my intentions are simply to honour the beautiful cars I get to see and to really understand the passion and love of the vehicle by the driver (or caretaker as Jay Leno would say) of the car. I also understand too that my videos perhaps lack the polish calibre of great CZcamsrs like: Doug DeMuro, Scotty Kilmer, and of course my favourite Supercar Blondie. I also know that I can’t even come close the quality & finish you get from the likes of Jeremy Clarkson and the boys at Top Gear. I think they use a little fancier equipment than my little iPhone… LOL
    Mission Statement:
My Objective through creating these videos is to shine the spotlight on people who love their vehicles whether it be a car, motorcycle, or even a bicycle…. Bottom line is if it has wheels and you love it then let’s show that passion to the world!
    Equipment Used:
Camera - Just an iPhone SE (Nothing fancy - which proves anyone can use whatever you have handy to make a video… you don’t need really expensive equipment)
Gimbal - DJI OM4 - For that ultra-smooth cinematic look. (To be honest... still not quite sure how to use it but one day I will figure it out!)
Audio - Rode Wireless GO II (I gotta be honest… this is really the biggest investment that was made… I wish there was a cheaper option but after the first couple of videos I soon realized that audio quality is important and hopefully better than the onboard mic on the iPhone!
Contact Details: If you have any questions or just want to chat you can reach me through all the (non-traditional) typical ways through the following:

If you have read this far, then I thank you. As always, I truly appreciate your “thumbs-up”, and by leaving your comments it demonstrates to me that I managed to get you involved and hopefully made you smile. Most importantly when you subscribe to my channel then you are truly acknowledging my effort to help share with others like you my passion and love for “all things that have wheels” and honouring the people who take care of them.
    Thank You
    Kevin

Wonderful video and another wonderful owner who's passionate about his car! So great to see even with his disability he is able to get out and enjoy his ride! To answer your question about the brake line "coils" coming from the master cylinder, the coils are used to compensate for vibration and flex in the brake lines to prevent them from cracking over time. Usually you only see that on cars that have "Body on Frame" style construction since the master cylinder is mounted to the body (firewall), it flexes with road/weight changes differently than the frame of the vehicle. Hope you enjoyed that little bit of info!

Antonio, First of all thank you so very much for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. My intention for the videos is to showcase the car and also allow the owner of the car (the caretaker as Jay Leno rightly says) the opportunity to share their story, love and passion for their car. Thank you for explaining the coiled lines too. It’s funny after Jim got home he had to find out too for himself.. he came up with the same answer too. Jim certainly inspires me and gives me hope as car lovers we should never give up.

Mike, First of all thank you so very much for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. My intention for the videos is to allow ´ordinary people’ like you and I who love cars an opportunity to speak about their love of their car and why that car means so much to them. After all we are all the ´caretakers’ of our cars (as Jay Leno rightly says). I think it’s great you are building a car that works for you. I would to see pictures of her when she’s completed. Kevin

I really enjoyed watching this video and the modifications made have given me hope as I am preparing to go in for back surgery for the 4th time. Thank you. BTW, the coils on the brake line are to minimize any vibration.
