Your video was a lifesaver for me. I found the instructions a bit tricky, but your video offers a crystal clear explanation about how to use it and how to clean it. Thanks a lot man
I am happy to help. The sprayer is nice. Not super accurate but good for larger walls.
I just received one of these units and in the process of doing a dry run on assembly and reassembly I found I couldn't get the nylon 'needle' out and before I broke something, I though let's see if anybody has had this issue. The first vid I watched didn't show any cleanup at all but I got lucky with yours. Thank you very much as now I know your expression and mine were identical when initially trying the T tool to get the paint needle out. Now I have yet tried it, and the one thing you neglected was the reinsertion of the paint needle. I also received a 4th tip with mine with a tiny brass tip and a brass paint needle (might be good for things like automotive spray or water-based polyurethane spray (which is the reason I bought it). Anyway, very good review, and probably excellent considering it's your first outing with an HVLP sprayer as it is also my first one as well. Again, thanks for a good review.
I just bought this a week ago. Im redoing my moms whole house this will save me time and it was pretty cheap. Nice in depth review
Thank you! Happy painting.
thank u for this. i bought this on a lightning deal and am painting my cabinets next week with it, the tutorial was super beneficial!
I am happy that it helped!
Thank you for this detailed review.
Greetings from Scotland. Lovely video! - Lovely guy!! Thanks so much, as it has helped a lot.
Nice review! I just bought this sprayer and you saved me some time.
Nice. Thank you. One thing I have noticed is that you should be careful putting the needle back into the sprayer. Dont try to place one of the three nozzles on if the needle is not all the way in.
When spraying, you always paper and tape off any areas you don't want the paint to fog over on. Cardboard you may have laying around is fine, or newspaper, old magazine covers, etc.,. Also cutting in certain areas with a brush, bringing the brushed paint in about 4 to 6 inches, depending on the job is something important as well. Again - it just depends on the job. Lastly - on cleanup - you should always run clean water through the spayer to really get the old latex paint out of areas you cant reach, or paint thinner for oil base paints. Really good review, other than that one thing. It should always be mentioned from the get go because newbies for whatever reason dont think that one through - and leads to a mess - LoL. I was once a newbie myself (but you didnt hear that from me) heh. THANK YOU for doing this review! I just ordered one from Amazon and happened by your video and found it useful for when it arrives. I now know what to expect from it and it looks great!
Thank you for watching. I suppose we are all newbies at some point. I fear I will be a newbie for the rest of my life haha. When I am ready to paint the inside of the workshop here I will be doing a lot of taping and papering. As for running water through the sprayer to clean it. . . Brilliant. Thank you for that tip.
The other reason to mix in a separate container is so you can pour it through a disposable filter. That keeps clumps from clogging the paint gun, and ensures smooth transfer to your painting surface. Thanks for posting this review.
Awesome presentation - you saved me a lot of time and I purchased the Sprayer from SmileAmazon - good price for under $60
You don’t have to remove the pin/needle. Clean the other pieces right away and then run spray hot water thru the gun to ensure it’s clean. Works like a charm and takes just a couple minutes. This thing is awesome and the overspray isn’t too bad.
That is one great video to show how to use the paint gun. Very helpful!
I have the same gun. Very good gun. Thank you for the video. Wanted to see how the needle was removed 👍
I’ve had this sprayer (can’t tell you how long) I’m finally going to pull the trigger no pun. I plugged it in it works wish me luck!! I use it more for furniture flipping not walls , but I might try it
I'm getting mine Monday I'm excited
Good video
Thanks for the detailed presentation
Hi sir thank u for the video, in addition to many effective comments, one thing, u have to take off the the spray filter after painting to clean it too
Love them blue shop towels
Great job. youtube needs presentations like this..tests saves people money.
I try to make the tests like I would want to watch. This sprayer seemed to work well but is not good for small details.
unfortunatly please ready my opinion (below) after buying the gun.
Mine has a 1.0mm spray tip for accuracy with a 1.0 mm nozzle for accurate spray...the gray one is for fine detail
Looking forward to picking this gun up for my basement, thank you too much for the review :)
Should do well for you. I will be using it soon to paint the outside of my workshop.
Thank you. This helped a lot.
great video as bought one yesterday and didnt wanna read instructions
Hahaha same!
Haha. How did it work for you? Just got mine today...
@@TwoCaptainsOneShip yeh worked well did good job on my fence panels ... key is getting paint mix right
@@shaw9673 thanks. Just really I king it to spray Thompson’s water sealer on flower boxes I make and also polyurethane on some other projects. I ran a test with water today and it seemed like it would do a good job. Thanks and good luck!
Awesome video, felt like I was there with you learning to use it.
Thank you. And thank you for watching.
All paint spraying solutions have the issue with overspray, HVLP like this, compressor, even rattle cans...just something you have to plan for. For cleanup of sprayers with latex, do it immediately and a bucket of warm soapy water to drop all the bits and bobs into as you disassemble the sprayer makes cleanup much easier.
Watching your video was better than the instructions. I was surprised how much I needed to thin the latex paint. I just put my first coat on some interior doors. 4 doors first coat on one side took a full container. In the future I will thin out the gallon of paint and not by batch so I don't have to custom mix each batch. The gun did splatter more than I hoped but I think it will look good with 2 coats of paint.
I was shocked too that it took so much thinning. My painted sample wall still looks good so thinning it must be alright.
Ur video is extremely helpfull, thanks, however please could u let us know what is the use of 3 different coloured round knobs attachments in front and what's the use for the copper pin ??
Great video, thank you! I (believe) I have followed all instructions for set up. I wanted to do a test run with water. I filled the container just over half way but nothing is coming out except for air. Any ideas on why this is happening?
Was considering to buy this or a electric hvlp but thanks for confirming that I shouldn't for higher quality work. Many strangely suggest these create less overspray but I see airless is #1 in spraying & coverage with minimal overspray, but even better when driven with high end pump with high air flow but precise or even a hvlp automotive sytem spray gun with compressed air. That research is finally over so I don't put less than perfect finishes down. small detail work may be left for a high volume fan tip airbrush though & a perfect covering type spray paint.
This sprayer is great for fast coverage but did have a lot of overspray.
Thank you from France
Nice detailed review
I just got this gun. This video was very helpful. Question about the air intake filter. I'm not sure if I missed it in the video, but I can't seem to find anything on replacing it anywhere online or where I can get replacement filters. It's like this filter does not exist.
Nice video. I don't think I'd use one of these. It's looks like better version of the Wagner hand held sprayer. Ok for little jobs.
I have an X5 airless sprayer - lower end but great quality. Cleaning is very simple, and it uses standard tips. It did cost $300, so a bit pricey for projects. I've done a number of houses, rooms, and also cabinets.
This sprayer seems to be good for a large wall or something that you dont mind getting splatter on the edges. For the cost not bad. I should think your $300 machine is going to give better results. You get what you pay for.
Bought this recently. Wow what a "throttle" it has. I'm painting bi fold louver doors and cant get it to layer easily like I used to with a lacquer or enamel gun. If I could back down the air flow, it would suit this particular job. But you're right, it's for projects that demand big and quick volume.
+David Masson when this paint gun sprays it doesn't mess around. Definitely works well for large projects but is not very good for details.
to get a reduced flow, you have to keep the viscosity thick. I had to follow the "Product" reduction rules, not the Sprayer rules. Allowing a 70 second viscosity run out caused excessive dripping. I would guess the mix I needed for the bifold doors was 120 seconds or more.
+Dave there is a lot of room for variation when changing the viscosity. I sure dont have the answers.
Not bad but the gray tip is the 1.0mm nozzle size (smallest size) and to work correctly requires the gray spray tip (not the white one). Hint the two gray tips go together (spray tip and nozzle).
I have recently bought a Ginour 600w paint sprayer it comes with 4 different size nozzles, What is the viscosity flow rate (Din/s) for each of the 4 different nozzle sizes, As this information is not covered in the supplied manual
I just got mine last week and have been painting my basement today. Unless they changed something, I'm not getting too much spray out while doing close up spots. I'm actually on a break from painting and wanted to see if it was easy cleanup. Looks like it is. The manual says to spray soapy water, then plain water through. But, glad your way worked out well. Let's me know cleanup is easy.
Nice! It sure is a time saver when you get the mix right. Cleanup is not too bad. Just take a little getting used to.
First, clean the reservoir then add some spirit/alcohol into it and spray for a couple of seconds. The whole system will be cleaned.
great vid keep going
That little metal needle "thingy" is the needle you use with the brass nozzle. Use the plastic needle for the other nozzles. The brass nozzle is for your detail jobs or I use it on furniture. The plastic tube is to clean out the ends of the nozzles. Good video but I'd add those small details because it's really helpful to know. Believe me, I learned through time and trial. Great gun for the money.
Thank you for the feedback! I did not know about the brass nozzle use.
@@LandtoHouse also one big thing that I dont even think the instructions mentioned...beside the paint tube, there is a black tube which I believe is the air inlet. This thing will clog very easy if not cleaned after each use. I usually put it I'm a water bottle full of mineral spirits and shake it real good. I was on the verge of throwing my Tacklife gun out and I just happened to try and pull that tube out and it was clogged so bad. Cleaned it, and sprays like new. Keep up the work with the vids man!
Thanks good and informative. Perhaps a big bucket of soapy water you need to get those items in the water as fast as possible after you finish using.
Thank you. I agree. Getting them clean quick it's really important. Luckily they are the type plastic that cleans up pretty easy
That funnel thing is called a viscosity cup. Its used to determine the viscosity of the paint
Yes thank you! It is very helpful indeed.
Great tutorial 💯🙏👍👏
Thank you!
hello, Nice video, but things are missing (Paints for wood, metals, .. Demonstration ...) to clean well inside nozzles you can use thinner thinner No or Yes You can ruin, wear out the plastic over time ? and using color for metal, wood, paints,
to clean well always inside nozzles and other with water you can not. What do we use ??
Thank you
Good day
Andrea
how long can we spray at a time when we use electric spray gun?
Hello, first thanks for the video, second, I lost de pin, do you know where i can find a replacement???
ingin sekali beli, tp di indonesia kok belum ada ya??caranya gmn klo mau beli di indonesia
Can you use oil base paint? Or, Tacklife SGP15AC was made only for water paint?
From what I can tell it will handle both.
If you haven't already gotten your answer, the instructions do have info for oil based.
how do I remove the white spray tip? I got the tip key as well but it doesn't come off
Go to 18:40 for the "In Conclusion" portion of the review
Looks like an okay unit for the price.
Good video ,what amount of water did you use to thin the paint, add 30%water
To be honest I am not sure. I just added water until I reached a consistency that would flow through the cup correctly. I think that you could do this more effectively with practice.
do you know how to clean well the white internal pin, which is extracted, from color to varnish to wood, iron ... ??? with the pin supplied for cleaning does not fit well ....
Andrea Rainbow the Rock he shows how to remove the spray tip in the video.
Would it not be easier to just spray a half container of lukewarm water through the unit and then disassemble for final cleaning? Great video btw!
yes of course it will fill the second container that you get with the unit and put hot soapy water in it and spray it all through onto some old cardboard or paper . rinse the one out that you used to paint with and you've saved yourself time and effort
ey there can it b used to paint galvinize. steel or any metal ? n can it also be used outdoor or only indoors?
You can use this for indoor our outdoor. I am not sure about painting galvanize. That would be a question for the manufacture.
CAN IT BE USED WITH OIL BASED PAINTS FOR OUTDOORS
Would I be able to used thinned artists acrylic paint with the gun?
That might be a question for the amazon seller. I do not have the answer.
I don't know why mine dont want to throw paint my gun just throw air and I don't how to fix it I tried everything can you help me please
What about the cleaning of the spray gun filter ?
I have actually bought one...honest opinion..roller bits it so far..Painting for 10min with 1 kg paint in hand is not comfortable..sprays very slow .only good thing about it is to use it for furniture but honestly painting a wall takes ages...do not buy it if you think you will paint it fast..I think the person who says is amazing tool never painted professionally. If i advice someone to spray fast and efficient buy wagner or graco (pump on the floor only gun in hand)
Is this sprayer good for lacquer, oils, stains, poly, and other clear finishes?
To be honest I have only used it for latex paint.
you can use thinner-diluent to clean the jets-injectors internal sprayers, and tubes painted paints for wood, iron ...
you show me to clean the part of the inner white injector, with a pin?
thank you
Hello
Is there some trick to changing the nozzle? I wanted to change to another size and I have to push it in really hard to tighten it back down. When I do get it tightened, the trigger doesn't work so I'm not getting any paint. What am I missing?
I struggled with that too. It has been a while and I don't remember what I did :(
I finally figured it out. When you switch to the 1.0 Grey copper nozzle, you also have to switch to the 1.0 copper spray tip. The instructions were not very clear about this.
i have a heating problem...it is heavy heating....please tell me the solution
Great video and I never comment on anything
The word you were looking for is "viscosity".
Pull hard. 😂😂😂😂
I feel for some people not strong enough to do it.
It is the only thing about the product that I dont like.
Can I use soap in it?
Someone managed to extract the pin with the accessory supplied? I can not do it with the supplied piece by following the instructions in the manual.
I just unboxed mine today and was trying to extract the pin too. No luck. I did find a Note on page 25 that speaks to putting it together with the "bumps in a vertical position" Looking at the small pin, there are bumps all around it... Ugh. I do not want to break it... Did you have any luck since your post?
It's called a viscosity cup.
Ah yes so it is. Thank you.
Can we paint car?
I also have the same problem with my unit,it it is brand new and I don't know how to get it to work
Could someone help me with this problem thank you.
This paint machine is awesome but one problem nozzle is not available ine damaging
It would be nice to have replaceable nozzles for sure. I found that to be the main issue with the product.
I just bought this gun & I'm having a lot of paint dripping out of the canister around the seal. Am I doing something wrong?
So far I have not had that issue. If it seems defective perhaps contact the company for a replacement.
@@LandtoHouse Ok thanks anyways.
Viscosity measure funnel
That is the name. Thank you.
It's viscosity cup man 😁
can I paint kitchen cabinet doors with this, if so what nozzle size?
I have not used this in a very long time. (I do need to get it back out)
@@LandtoHouse thanks
i want that, how much?
Please follow the link in the description for the price on Amazon.
My spray gun will not draw up the paint can you suggest a reason why.
I have not used this one in a while. Is it new? Do you think that paint could have dried in the tube from a previous use?
How the hell do you get the plastic spray tip out?
It took some serious pressure for me to get it out. Had to use the Puller and still it was difficult
normally you would put plastic bag to white tray than paint..(less cleaning)
Yes! I agree. I was just giving this an example run.
love the video but I don't like the fact that you have to water down the paint. You will need to do additional coats to match the original thickness.
Yes that is a down side to a sprayer like this.
Much check out if the paint can be thinned enough without problems.
You can spray more, if you needs.
It is pretty fast, I suppose.
Amazon says the needle and nozzle tip are copper, but it looks plastic.
So, after watching some videos - I noticed my sprayer arrived with more parts than this video showed. Mine came with an additional needle and nozzle head with copper/brass parts instead of the plastic parts. I had to change them out myseafter learning sprayers apparently work better with these pieces in copper. So, while you do have to change them out yourself, at least they have corrected this and added copper pieces in addition. (Ordered mine last week)
Nice! Yes the plastic needles are tough to pull out for cleaning. Happy to hear it has been updated.
Just trying to get mine to work, it won’t spray anything at all! Any ideas???
That is probably a question for tacklife. I am not sure.
Use the gray nozzle, it's the only one with of the 3 with a metal tip and a very small hole, that one is for small detail, you just didn't try it. It would have been a lot better if you had tried this in advance to give the right information, especially if you are going to review a machine.
Can I use this to spray paint my car?
This sprayer does not have the accuracy to spray a car. Its good on walls though.
I bought one of these. After reading the instructions I concluded that I needed to swap the needle and the nozzle for the paint I wanted to use.
No matter what I did I could not remove the needle fitted in the factory. The user manual had no instructions on how to do it. Sent it back as I felt I would end up breaking the needle, the key, the seat for the needle or possibly all three. Might have been fine if I could have used the 'default' set up.
Sent it back and got a refund. Ridiculous
Omg thank you!! I thought it was JUST ME !! I’m trying to spray pool decking before the wind comes up !! GRRR! Had to pull out my old hvlp !!
Im pissed!!
Why don’t they just WRITE INSTRUCTIONS IN ENGLISH?!
OR HEY SEND THE GUN DISASSEMBLED ?!
WTFH!!??
have you ever heard of paint thinner?!?
Idiot he was using a water base paint so you use water for thinning not paint thinner and he did it right.
Richard Lug you're so full of sh$t
Richard Lug isn't full of shit. Latex paints are water-based, you should thin them with water or a thinning product designed for latex paints. Traditional paint thinner is for oil-based paints. Only a dumbass would put paint thinner in latex paint, because it's full of solvents like acetone which will ruin the latex paint.
Hahahahahahaha for latex paint?..... Clearly the only thing you know about paint thinner is the smell. Keep huffing dude. But please don't try to give advice on things you know nothing about because some people are even more clueless than you and will use your advice to ruin their shit.
Your technique is pretty poor. Stop arc movement of your arm. Keep the sprayer parallel to the work surface.
Oh for sure! This is the first try with a sprayer.
Stoned much?
Lol. Never have touched that type of thing. Turns out I became allergic to gas permeable contacts. Now that I have soft contacts it's way! Better.
Why the hell is it that mouth breathers review a product they have no clue about? That's like us reviewing a fighter jet and comparing it to a commercial plane.
I feel like you're looking for a sarcastic answer so I'll give you both reality and sarcasm. The reality is in 2018 and 19 influencer marketing is the primary goal of many Amazon sellers. Especially after Amazon's policy change on reviews for giveaway. A sarcastic answer is I know right can you believe a CZcamsr with free content doesn't know what he's doing!
@@LandtoHouse Free content? Are you not monetizing off of my and other views? Fuck outta here with that excuse for a shitty video.
Do not use this gun or try to use it to paint a car
That makes sense. I don't think you can put automotive paint in a sprayer like this.
If you use a paint sprayer you need to tape off and cove everything you don’t want to get over spray on.... maybe you should do a little homework on paint sprayers. I wouldn’t want you to give out wrong info.......
Very loud
As soon as I heard that they sent you a $32 item I stopped watching. Are you seriously that cheap?
Did you expect a professional paint gun? I don't understand the issue.
Had it been a $320 item would that have given you the hard on you wanted? Lol what a dumb comment
