Tax exemptions in Georgia are tricky and not well understood. From what I have gathered, Cherokee and Cobb are the only counties that have significant AND straightforward age 62 tax exemptions in the North Atlanta metro (OTP). Dekalb county has significant age 62 tax exemptions but has a very low-income limit to be eligible. Forsyth and Gwinnet are good starting at age 65. Dekalb, Fulton and Hall counties are good starting at age 70. There are no others I know of that offer similar significant senior tax exemptions.

People moving from Florida to Georgia (and the other states in that immediate region) ... Yeah, they call that HALFBACKS. People who had moved from the North to Florida; then not liking certain experiences in Florida, and moving halfway-back to; North Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

Great video. I think a huge difference in California is we pay sales tax on the car 8%+ plus yearly DMV fees $400+ a year. Georgia has the 6.60% TAVT upon registering the car which is essentially our equivalent of sales tax but much lower yearly fees.

It's gotten too expensive out here and the politics have ruined this state.I'm hoping to transfer to Benning(ft Moore),so much cheaper in Georgia and they love the 2A.

CA has the highest income tax rates, high property taxes, too much regulation, massive crime, illegal immig. issues, go down the list major cities there are ruined --LA, SF are a mess

To ruin it. What's the most annoying sound in the world? "Hi, we just moved here from California." I am from nj, so that's probably the third most annoying sound, so I stay here.

    Is Georgia becoming overpopulated ?

Not in my opinion. Locals may have a different opinion and yet there are many great areas of Georgia that are still relatively small. I live in Gainesville and while it has grown a lot, I personally love all of the changes. I think the development has been for the better!

you don't want this, I'm in TX , we have over 500 thousand CA transplants, they bring in lots of money and this pushes up realty prices, it distorts the market, this happened in Austin and Dallas

All of my Direct Report Employees live in Austin and Dallas. Several years ago, one of my born-and-raised Austin employees was complaining about all the Californians moving into Austin, even back then. My entire crew complains about the increased crime, increased prices, overcrowding, traffic congestion, homelessness, and getting not much of a house for their money any more.
