I love my 36mm Prince Date-Day and 38mm Classic, neither of which are still on the market, but which can be had for much more reasonable prices that today's offerings which you've highlighted. I'm very fond of my Ranger as well, much more so than I am my BB58.

thanks for the video. While on the subject of Tudor, do you folks have anything to swap out with the unusual and short stock strap supplied with the P01 ? Cheers.

My picks are the BB54 and Pelagos 39, both of which I own. I like this combo, because the 54 scratches the itch for 1950s Submariners I adore so much. With its 37mm wide and 11.2mm thick case, coupled with the shiny luster of the stainless steel, it’s a classy, charming diver that can be dressed up with a suit, yet worn with a casual outfit.
The Pelagos, on the other hand, provides a modern, over-engineered, professional, straight up tool diver that fills the wrist. Lightweight yet strong. Splash of red on the dial, paying homage to those red text submariners of old. Ceramic, sapphire, and bright cyan blue lume. It is a winner winner chicken dinner.

I enjoy all my Tudors. I have the Pelagos blue date day, Pro, BB41Nd BBgmt opaline dial. I guess I’m a fanboy

The Ranger is a quality piece, and the oyster bracelet 👌

The 58 is so well made and perfectly proportioned for a sports watch. It borrows from classic Tudors and Rolex without being a slave to an exact copy . It really is it’s own thing. The gilt bezel gives the 58 a warm feel, the red triangle offers a pop of color paying homage to the Rolex Big Crown, the chunky coin edge crown is so satisfying to wind with a refined matching coin edge bezel and I love the snow flake seconds hand. It’s different from the more traditional lollipop style. By the way, 39 mm is on the smaller side for a modern sized sports watch. I think anything smaller is playing vintage territory.

saw a brand spankin new 58 at the AD, and don’t think I could go for that pronounced gilt bezel again; my “old” 58’s markers have faded closer to a silver due to a lot of time in the sun and seawater, and quite happy with that

Have you held it and worn? I was so disappointed. Honestly looked very cheap. Too bad I really wanted to like it.

of all the models, i say the pepsi in opaline dial is the one to get if the plan is just to aim for 1 tudor.
I also have an unpopular opinion on tudor black watches and i will probably get murdered for it - BB58 dial is terrible and boring to watch but the size is the most perfect of all. BB54 is really too small, out of place in 2023 but the dial is what BB58 is missing. FXD black is really unique but it is just a little to big.

Love my Tudors, but I wonder how the people who drank the grey market KooL Aid during the madness and overpaid, sometimes by thousands of pounds, are feeling now. They should have kept Hans Wilsdorf's brief for the brand in mind. Tudor will never be like big brother. They are a shop window watch and if you know how to negotiate you can get a discount today.

Did he say Tier 1? I thought he said Premium. I think Tudor is Premium like other brands in that category ie: Longines, Breitling etc.

Half of them are way too thick. And yes, I have tried most of these in the metal and they didn’t impress me much.

Admittedly, I have slept on Tudor, believing the "Tudor is the Black Bay company" line parroted in the online watch community. I have since purchased a preowned North Flag and looking into the steel bezel Black Bay Chronograph, both recently discontinued models. Do they have a lot of Black Bay models? Yes. However, that should not define them or distract anyone from finding the right Tudor regardless of whether it is in the Black Bay line.
