In this video, I'll show you how I sharpen my skills before every ride. www.ridelikeapro.com www.tabperformance.com www. motorcycledropguards.com @harleydavidson
You're the only person who explains counter steering so well that I finally understand what it means. Lean the bike to one side but keep your body upright. Don't lean with the bike. I feel happy that I finally understood it. Even after completing my 2 days Learners course and completed my learners permit here in Australia I don't get it until I watch your videos. Having light bulbs moments now it makes sense why swerving and figure 8 is important. More tips and safer riding skills. I recently bought your ride like a pro MP4. Superb. Post more good stuff on CZcams. There always something new for beginners like myself to learn from you.
I have to credit your videos for a lot of how I ride. I have just bought a new Road Glide and have yet to practice on it. previous bike was a Goldwing and tuning those skills with that bike have made the RG an easy task. I'll take these classes one day. love hearing the floor boards scrape at slow speeds. It's just impressive in my opinion.
Have learned a boat ton from this guys vids over the years. My bike 2016 SGS. I practice. Just yesterday had three buds w/ Road Kings come to visit and ride. I led ‘cause I had some nice back country twisties for them. Road closed by the po po right at a tight left, off camber, twist. Sat for a minute and then gave the ‘we’re turning around’ twirling motion (no coms…hate ‘em). Tight two lane, no shoulder road. Whipped that u turn from a dead stop LIKE A BOSS. Check the mirrors, no buds behind me. Pulled into a driveway, text the buds. ‘We can’t make that u turn’.😂 We met back at my house after they sat at that turn for AN HOUR, waiting. They took it in stride. I laughed my ass off. My money, they still won’t practice.😢
I'm out almost every Sunday, and on my way home I usually stop by the parking lot of our commuter rail which doesn't run on the weekend for practicing figure eights. Have made noticeable improvement. FIRST thing I do is consciously NOT lay the fingers of my right hand over the front brake lever (where I normally keep them) to prevent accidentally using that brake for friction control . . . only the rear brake. Busted my foot when I dropped the bike on the right in a S L O W right turn and a quick stop at an intersection a few years back.
It's been so hot lately that I don't even want to get the bike out, never mind ride it around slowly in the sun. Maybe I can find an empty parking deck somewhere.
Awesome Jerry. I just finished Emergency stops, figure 8’s, tight left and right circles. I do low and high speed swerves in a parking lot and around the HOV diamonds at higher speeds. Absolutely agree! Thank You Sir
Yes, these are Harley's reach bars. They have about 6 inches of pull-back and allow me to sit up straight and not have to lean forward or hyper extend my arms when making tight turns. The clutch and brake cables had to be extended as well as the wires that connect to the handlebars.
Another great video ! Thank you Moto Man ;-) One quick question , I have a 2014 road king , And I want to get one of those flashing brake light module like the one you have installed on your bikes in your videos where the brake light flashes as you slow down. Maybe you already have a video out there showing it and where to get it ? If you have the time could you please point me in the right direction on where to get one . Thank you Jerry , Love your videos !
The 360 cam allows me to get angles I couldn't get any other way. Generally I use that camera in my review videos so people can see the bikes profile as it looks going down the road. When making tight turns, it's quite difficult to edit but with just my helmet cam, you can't see what I'm actually doing with the bike. Keep in mind too, these youtube videos are free, so...
Jerry, I am a new owner of a 2016 Electra Glide, Now I have ridden for years, I have never felt like I needed to adjust the handle bars. But my question is. How would I make sure my bars are set correctly? I had someone tell me to drop the stock handle bars and get 10"-12" bars.?
If the bars feel comfortable while your riding, don't change them. If you're not comfortable, first try adjusting them forward or backward. You can also get a different seat to bring you closer or farther from the bars. czcams.com/video/0YrUyJkskoc/video.html
What advice do you have for someone who has trouble taking left-hand curves at highway speeds but no issue taking the same curve the other way above the highway speed?
More practice to the left. Head and eyes is the key. When people get a little nervous, they tend to NOT look towards the end of the curve and start looking where they are at rather than where they are going.
I hate it that you're lacking in common sense . I like my camera's on my bike. Me and the Riders behind me like to review the footage to see what we can do to improve our riding. Also if someone causes an accident you have proof if it's their fault. Does that make any sense to you?😄
I always recommend this channel to new riders. Especially when they mention that they have problems with curves and U-turns while riding their bike
A parking lot can become a good place to practice and clear your head 💪
Thank you Jerry! Excellent exercises! 😊
Talk about getting dizzy from going in circles, I’m getting dizzy from the camera angles in this! Thanks for all the skills you’ve taught me, Jerry.
As always motor man you are the best of them all.
Thank you.

“Head & eyes” are words to live by!

Thank you for your videos. Taking msf class this month
As always my friend, Pure Common Sense. Great vid, good moves to practice on your bike, and as always, LIFE SAVERS!! God bless you and Donna🙏
Good content. Got a little sick watching that 360 video editing though. Ha.
I just came here to say that I love you and your videos. Yours is one of the voices always in my head when I'm out there on the road, so thank you.

Always great information. Had the Road King out yesterday, still LOVE IT! No issues with it as well.

I'm pretty much brand new and this guy explains things so well. I keep sitting here going "oooh okay!"
Advice, example, style great video for training. TY Mr. P
Just watched a video of yours from 13 years ago. How the time flies

Handling a full size motorcycle with the ease of a Childs toy.
Prairie dogs whole right in the road in farm county here in Colorado skills come in handy thanks for the work ethic Jerry I share these with the kids
Great advice buddy hope you guys are not in the path of the hurricane looks bad in Florida take care be safe
We're good here in Florida @tomfillmore9710...the storm looks to be heading towards Mexico/Texas.
@@tomfillmore9710 you know what comes with Florida? Hurricanes and floods 👍
Great video Jerry 👍 Yes if peeps can't do 30ft turns, then they need to get on that Electric push bike and start practising on that first.
Your camera angle during figure 8’s made me dizzy 😂. Good video to practice multiple skillls per ride.
Looking forward to your class here in Georgia in a couple of weeks
What part of GA? This would be awesome if it was close to Columbus
Love the bars you have on that Low Rider, did those require lengthening the cables?
Yes, these are Harley's reach bars. They have about 6 inches of pull-back and allow me to sit up straight and not have to lean forward or hyper extend my arms when making tight turns. The clutch and brake cables had to be extended as well as the wires that connect to the handlebars.
Xcellent 😊😊
The lights on the handlebars look awesome!

@@motorman857 Thank you Sir ! Cheers !!
Thanks Jerry (and I bought your book &video). You may want to re-think that new camera (360?)

AWSOME video, which 360 camera are you running, and can you share an extended poll n bracket that is mounted on a bike?
Insta 360 x3 with their selfie stick.
Hey Motorman, I haven’t seen Motorwoman for a while, she doin ok? By the way… I can do some pretty tight figure 8’s! Thanks for the videos!
Yes, she's fine. Thanks for asking.
Hey Mota Man Here!
💙🏁💙
What kind of cameras do you use sir?
GOPRO and Insta 360x3

@JP-dw1fp going slow, that works, but at 45 mph or faster I get "spooked", but I can accelerate in the curve.
Motoman is great. I don't like those goofy cameras. Technology is surpassing common sense.
Hiring a camera crew for youtube videos costs way too much money. The only way to show the angles is the 360 camera.
