  • November 8th 2020. A day the Art's Cyclery Crew will always remember as the day our COVID-19 Nightmare Dream Ride came to life. As our peers were accomplishing impressive feats on their regular bikes, we opted for something strange. Has anyone done this before??? That's a question we don't know the answer too, but we do know that ‪@ScottyCranmer‬ managed to do a similar challenge just one week later, which is awesome. Hopefully this video inspires viewers to get out and conquer their strange dream rides!
    Ride Stats:
    100.38 Miles, 4,823 ft of elevation gain, 7hr 8min. (14 mph/avg speed)
    Bmx Crew:
Alex Raban: Rolling a brakeless 20" Terrible One bmx bike w/ super koosh seat and 4 pegs
Alex Kachlakev: Rolled a brakeless 20" bmx with a free coaster and pegs
Trevor Roland: Rode a PA made Deluxe 20" bmx bike w/ brakes and a feedbag
Dillion Clapp: Rolled a "new age" 22" BMX w/brakes by DK Bikes.
Myles Lucas: Rode Josh's rusty 20" sh*t box
    Stoke Crew:
    Peter McBride abroad the tall-bike
    Tobin aboard a 26" DJ
Multiple gloms on fixed gears and commuters
Many others joined to keep spirts high (All non-employees or non-house mates of employees stayed 6" apart)

I grew up in Hawai'i, on Oahu, there was about a dozen of us that would ride around the island several times a year on BMX bikes, I've lost count the number of times we did 100 miles in a day. When you're a kid in the 80's and 90's and you have all of the time in the world with nothing else to do, you ride. A lot.

Good laughs right out of the gate! The climbs into Vandenberg had to be brutal. Pickle juice a must! Looked like a ton of fun.

I routinely ride 30+ miles on my BMX. I stand the whole time. Hopefully, before the year is out I'll get 100 miles in. DubG on Strava.

Not really true. Sid Sidowski has been racing Ironman triathlon on one for a good few years. nothing like 112 mile on a BMX then a marathon...

Just looked him up, that's a savage feat. We aren't claiming to be the first, just posing the question. Thanks for sharing a story of someone else's physical feat.
