Nothing to do with the bald head. If you look.more closely you'll noticed that Conors legs were shaved for the second fight. This made Dustin's leg kicks more effective.

Not fickle, just lots and lots of ignorance from fans. Most "fans" get caught up in the cult of personality of someone and dont really know anything about them or the sport they participate in.
Thus when that person is doing well "they are the greatest" and when they go through downswings or low periods "they are washed up". Those types of "fans" are just reacting emotionally are dont care about using logic or reasoning to assess the situation.

@Thomas Dauphan I don't think Poirier's a better fighter. I think Conor got too confident in the first round and thought Dustin was going to gas out in the second round, and he made the mistake of letting his guard down, it cost him dearly.

He just used good timing jumped the queues and got his shot. Any decent fighter can pick and choose their fights like that. He got pushed up the ladder for a shot because of his character and not because of how good he was.
Holding multiple belts is one of the most overrated achievements in modern combat sports. It's like a buzzword for promotors etc but in terms of actual difficulty and achievement holding 1 belt with 3 defences is quite simply better than holding 2 and never defending.

I think overall conor is still better now physically and skillwise than he was before even in 2016, he will just need to make adjustments. Grappling/wrestling wise no one can dominate him besides khabib now, maybe charles... now its time he make some striking adjustments he's neglected when he was busy fighting floyd and khabib.

Hey man, I'm a little disappointed you didn't go deeper into the sequence that ends the fight. Dustin was brilliant, IMO, in his shot selection and reading Conor's slip and sat him down with a beautiful right.

Everybody thought Dustin was gonna get KO and nobody gave the guy a chance 🤣 Justice was served by Dustin Poirier
