This was 100% live. She did 3 takes and added it all together.
Everything before that last performance was 100% live I found the actual song and it was literally note by note the track. And Mariah carey is the type of singer when she is singing it live she will never do it exactly like the track she had Riffs. And growls and all of that. As a lamb you should know that lol
@@ThatSingerReactions you are right! The song Beautiful was pre recorded with her singing on top of the studio version in parts and the whistles. You did get everything correctly.
@@ThatSingerReactions check other performances of the song like on Macy’s thanksgiving thing. She actually slayed the song there and she performed it with Miguel like in the studio version.

That’s a great insight that you had about the last song. She was debuting her song #Beautiful and after this performance she started actually singing the song.
Mariah the greatest studio artist because she wrote her and produced songs around her vocals which was great obviously but she didn’t understand till recently that them songs not for the vocal condition she was in after her prime. She’s an all time great live singer as well but was very inconsistent at times vs a Whitney who got songs and had 3 4 version of the same ones, singing how she felt it that day…BOTH GREAT SINGERS THOUGH

OMG i love this performance she was in really great condition in 2013 as she said and every single performance was on point, she decided to pre-recored the song "Beautifull" because it was new and they wanted to promote it exactly like on the track.

I actually agree with you Mariah gets on my nerves because her voice is still solid and amazing plus she’s soooo freaking creative! I think she should tweaking her songs to fit her vocals now which is not difficult for her, however!!! HOWEVER she’s dealing with so much hate because “sHe cAn’T sInG aNyMoRe” and her voice changed
Basically people aren’t forgiving when it comes to Mariah and I completely understand why she does that
Whoever thinks she can't sing don't have a musical ear. The thing was mariah tried to be old mariah and old mariah couldn't be touched by a single vocalist in her prime. I listened to her debut album and her emotions album and the vocals just can't be reached. So it was best for her to use her vocal arranging mind like she did during all the songs she did during this performance to make em work.

See now I do not mind the lipsyncing or anything because the minute she shifts vocals to sound suit her voice "she cant sing anymore" The amount of mental pressure that puts on an individual that has a GREAT legacy to uphold is immense. I do not blame her for lipsyncing and on top of that mental pressure make her nodules act up
the "TRiLL me" in #Beautiful was lipsynced with an illusion. When there are multiple layers.. she sings one of them so its technically still sung with a backtrack cuz she cant hit all 7 notes being hit in the layers.
The whistles were the only part lip-synced to in #Beautiful but I think it was done once live. They just chose the best of each of the 3 performances.

Mariah is a great live singer overall (considering the instrument she has been working with her whole life) and people just don't want to credit her for it.
I was like you at one point...mad af at Mariah because we know she can sing but she kept lip syncing certain parts of various songs in an effort to keep up with 90s Mariah. And that messed up her reputation for lives.
When in fact, all she had to do was use her musical wit/intelligence to rearrange the songs to fit her vocal conditions.
I'm glad she kind of understands that now and she's doing much better.
yes, Beautiful was her debut from her new album Me I Am Mariah - she's always had her debuts sound exactly as she made them in the studio because that's how she wanted it heard. I knew the whistle part was mimed since it was exactly the track version, but I can hear her chime in throughout it here and there. sometimes 2 mc's. Beautiful was a top 20 hit, sold 1.1M in usa, and hit #1 on itunes in 27 countries, boy band BTS covered her song in 2015.

Mariah Carey has the vocal quality, range, tone and resonance. I'd recommend for you to watch the surprise performance in Jimmy Fallon late Show. She does arperggios flowing through her entire range as if it was a tiny belt. I bet you will be surprised. She has been ridiculed by American media that she is frightened to mess up. She doesn't move much on the stage anymore, she looks scared, but in other countries she doesn't, she opens up herself to the public, looks comfy on stage specially in Asia. Fun fact: Mariah Carey is the first occidental artist, none Asian to perform in China. Her entire body of work is recognized as one of the most intricate and complex repertoires in the last 50 years . She is according to Billboard the most enduring female artist nowadays. She is the best changing songs to make a different appeal, remember she writes the lyrics and produces the song so she knows how to do that perfectly without messing the essence of the song just like she did this past February with one of her most well known hit "We belong together" she sort of reimagined her entire vocal performance of one of her hardest songs to perform live and made it even more difficult.

You're so real for that lip syncing problem Mariah had. Expectations for Mariah to be 90s Mariah is insane, from the public, from her fans, and ESPECIALLY from herself, so she feels the need to lip to show those notes still come easy to her.
I like the spot she's in rn, where she kinda acknowledged her voice has changed and the way she sung in her 20s won't make sense for her voice NOW, so she's switching it up. Prerecorded tracks are something I can respect. It's normal for singers to protect their voice, and her voice is very fragile. But lipping to original track is hard to defend, cause we know she dont sound like that. Also doesn't help Mariah is a born and made to be a singer so she's cursed to be forever sucking at lip sync (no Mariah, turning your heads and putting the mic 5 miles away from you is NOT a good sync)😭

I never hated her. Never could she's one of the greatest Singers in history. Not even a debate I just hated when she use to lip sync because she still could sing. Given she is a beast at vocal arrangements.

And you completely right ! Mariah is indeed the best vocalist ever but ironically she is the worst at lypsincing 😅, she just can’t do it right ! But yeah even now past her prime she can still MURDER everybody vocally when properly rested ! Her vocal growth and musicality are still a once in a lifetime experience
