Full sheets of plywood…either 4' x 8' or 5' x 5'… are hard to manage accurately on a table saw. In this 6-minute video Jeff Farris shows you how a track saw and Woodpeckers Parallel Guide System team up to make repetitive cuts in sheet goods safer and more accurate.

Great overview! I just got my guides and need to get them calibrated. They seem to be very high quality. I am pretty picky, so I am hoping I will be able to use these for a murphy bed I am about to build. Hoping I can use these for final cuts and don't have to get close then switch to tablesaw and my Incra fence for the dead accuracy I like. Also, that's quite a shop you have with a fireplace inside!!!

I have a set of these and recently made five cabinets for Festool SYS-AZ Drawers. My cabinets are H-2048 mm x W-427mm x D-400mm, and these parallel guides made it so easy to cut. Another CZcamsr did a review on the top parallel guides out there, and when reviewing the Woodpeckers, his issue was a parallax between the stops and the indications on the rail. To me it wasn’t so much a parallax as it was the red anodization on the flip stop reflecting the white markings off the red anodized track with the increments on it. So, I painted the sides of the flip stops flat black and it completely solved the issue (Note to W.P.).🤔 One of the things about the Woodpeckers parallel guides that sold me on them is that the flip stops are very thick and strong compared to all the other guides out there. You can slide them up to the stock firmly and not worry about them deflecting or moving. All I can say is I couldn’t be happier with mine.
    All the best Chuck

Great Video as always Jeff just a few comments, first must be an old video being it was shot in your home shop, second no mention of eye or ear protection so I can only assume your glasses are safety glasses, Third be nice if you talked about the initial setup to the track which I was really hoping to see. Last of all being this video is old when are you going to start some new videos?? have not seen anything new in a long (several months) time.

This is a re-edit of an older video on the PGS that received a lot of criticism for how long the assembly and alignment process is. We re-cut it to be strictly about use and not assembly. It's sort of a test to see what CZcams viewers want. The alignment really isn't that time consuming if you are actually interested in setting up for repetitive cuts, but haters are going to hate. The full video with assembly details is here: czcams.com/video/_cDmOHjDh-E/video.html
Thanks for asking about new Deep Dives. We've been short-handed in the video department for several months while at the same time, launching our line of router bits. We almost have the staff up to the level it needs to be for me to have the time to get back in the shop for more detailed videos. Hopefully we'll start having new Deep Dives shortly after the first of the year.

Why not produce a similar set of tools for the Parallel Guide System for the thousands of Kreg Track users.? I would purchase one in a minute.

How do you do a deep dive video and not bother to show how to calibrate these?

A 5x5 is NOT awkward to cut on a table saw.

Depends on your table saw. Some of us don't have super large cabinet saws.

The track system is terrific but I'm surprised that you a) Have no eye or hearing protection & b) Don't clamp the wood to the track.

Jeff litterally wears glasses, and even if they arent impact rated, they are find for wood chips.
Clamping is not required with a track saw, the neoprene/felt pads under the track do well to hold it in place if your not providing lateral force.

I have a really stable stand under my foam and the Festool rail grips Baltic Birch plywood like it was made for the job. ;^) That said, if you look close on the first full sheet cut you can see I have it clamped. I think the little 24" cuts were the only ones I didn't clamp.
While they don't have side shields, my glasses are ANSI impact rated.

I am delighted that Jeff is as safe as possible. Unfortunately, there are so many people who post videos, including some professionals, that operate without PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) both at their own risk and an unfortunate impression that PPE isn't important. These are also the same people who have made the table saw the most dangerous piece of equipment in home shops. As to the person who told me to "Grow up.....", FYI I have the greatest respect for Jeff & his woodworking skills and watch every one of the Woodpecker deep dives. I've been woodworking for over 60 years and don't need you or anyone else to tell me something that stupid.

Who can afford almost $500.00 to draw a line, clamp it down with a straight edge and cut it...
Woodpeckers I love your products but you may want to contact Elon to book a return reentry for your pricing.

This wasn't the best demonstration of the advantages of parallel guides. They really shine when you need to make multiple cuts of the same width. As an example. I had to make five cabinets, for the sides I had to cut nine panels 15-3/4" wide out of three sheets of 4'x8' alone. After I setup the parallel guides to make a 15-3/4" wide cut, I simply push the guide up against the sheet and cut, remove the board I just cut and push the guide up against the sheet again, and make another cut, repeat until the sheet is done and start on the next sheet. It is extremely fast and accurate, each panel is identical. For me, it is worth every penny.
      All the Best,
      Chuck
