Was it 6 years ago a Coach tried to out a so called super star for acting like a child. The clubs response when the mother said the coach made her boy cry was to fire that coach? Just when he wanted to help some of his players to grow up. Now, say what you will, they were bickering on the bench, bitching at each other. Maybe Marner will give the coach a list of names that he thinks are not doing the right stuff out there. Heaven forbid Keefe calls anybody out, he will have to retract his harsh words. What ever happened to "what you hear here and see here stays here?"

It's so hard to watch this team. Year after year playoff after playoff. They go into the playoffs with a top 5 power play and top 5 offense every year but once the puck drops in the spring all that elite offense disappears. All 4 of these guy ( Matthew's, Marner , Taveres, Nylander ) are not leaders and have been asked to step up for an entire team and franchise for that matter. Taveres is a great player in his prime but it was the same story when he was in NY and that is he's to quite , soft and non confrontational to be a great C in this league. Anytime there's a scrum after the whitsle Taveres and the rest of the core try to become the UN. They try to be the separation police and want nothing to do with sticking up for there teammates. Look at guys like both Tkachuk brothers , Toews for years, Stamkos when warranted they are willing to jump an opponent or drop there stick in a scrum.

very evident last year against Florida in the playoffs . Same issues again against Boston this year. When up against a physical team who plays good defense, forechecks well and battles along the boards for the puck. The leafs fluff four can't compete.
Until the leafs build a team to compete against Florida or Boston, which should be their primary objective. They better move out of the Atlantic division, otherwise expect the same results next year
