  • Calvin Pickard stepped up for the Oilers in Game 4 and the team in front of him produced arguably their best defensive performance of the series.

Pickard or Skinner? Who would you run with down the stretch and why?

Perhaps they should have played better defensively when Skinner was in net? Hes not sitting out because he's injured...

Skinner is especially weak with the low-danger shots from far out. And it doesn't matter how defensively sound they are, teams will always be getting a bunch of those.

I watched all the games for the Oilers in the post season. I have no hate for Skinner but he has been letting in some soft goals, I'm glad they're running Pickard.

Playing tighter defensively is probably for the best regardless of who is in net. This is the Stanley Cup playoffs after all.

The problem with Skinner is a bad game sticks in his head. He needs a better goaltending coach to help him out of those funks. It really is feast or famine with Stu. You either get the .920 sv% Stu or the .820 sv% Stu. There's no middle ground where he can fight his way out of the funk. Maybe that will get better naturally with age, he is after all a 2nd year player who's only 26. But honestly, the Oilers need a better Goalie coach to help him grow through this.

Brion (a long with most of the TSN pundants) has, in his mind, already crowned the Oilers in this series. It will be interesting to see what he has to say if they lose game 5.

After game 4 the oilers are good defensively as they are offensively

Pickard just a better goalie and since he's older he's playing with the knowledge that this could be his only shot.
Skinner cares too much about how his moustache looks.

Oilers play thousands times better with Pickard in. D still sloppy on some goals but overall the team collectively matches Nucks style way better+Pickard fights nonstop to stop anything. Oil will use Skinner Game 6=series over.
