  • On this episode of the Converse Cowboy, I talk to Colter Wall, an amazing guitarist and vocalist from Saskatchewan, Canada. Colter's music has been described as a blend of blues, folk, and Americana and he is regarded as one of the best young vocalists in his genre today. Colter and I discuss how he began his music career, how he's overcoming the difficulties, as well as mindset and philosophy as it relates to his process in writing and performing music.

@hb1990 they might be, but Colter is the only one who didn't sell out for Nashville and California. Tyler wasn't the same after he did that run on the west coast, I think he smoked some of that weird shit out there and it fucked his brains harder than the usual shit he does. We've all got opinions, I wouldn't trade Colter for the pair of them any day of the week. I'll never go to another one of either of their shows.

I was telling my friend that I was just over all the high pitched voices in country and I couldn't get into it other than old country, outlaw country. She said, you'd love Colter Wall then. Because vocals are big for me as a listener, and good guitar pickin' is the bonus. It's about time we have some young blood in the genre that's a classic sound but fresh af at the same time.

I'm not a big Country music fan but Colter seems real and this is a very hard to find feature in life these days. His music is the way he chose to communicate but if he would have been a carpenter then his style would have been expressed in that way... lucky for me he didn't...there's only so many Colter Wall chairs one can own 😜
