Thanks for the comparison. I've been using the Kilburn for years and for some time now the Emberton, which I bought directly from Marshall for 109 euros. I bought the Emberton to listen to music on the go in the park and in the garden. And I am very happy with this product. Nice and handy, not too heavy and easy to stow away in a backpack. Rich and balanced sound. The Middleton is certainly also a great loudspeaker, but for my purposes it is already too big and too heavy. And my Kilburn, now well run in, also does a good job at home. For travel and outdoor use, I find the Emberton the better choice.

i like that he included 6 Music genres. thats enough for everyone to decide if they would like it or not.
most people that do these reviews do a sound test as they play some random beats on the speaker and thats it.
i really care for rock. and real instrumental music has a harder time sounding great on bluetooth speakers.
i know Marshall is famous for making great legendary guitar amplifiers. so i expect their speakers to sound great for rock music. and they do.
thats why i'm happy to own the emberton 2. other bluetooth speakers make low guitar sounds bassy and unnatural sounding.
it sounds so muddy its almost unbarable to listen to. but this one is definitly a great option for all genres. :)

I finally got me the emberton 2 in cream. I absolutely love it. It sounds very different from my others. I have alot. It sounds very smooth and soft. The clarity is very nice. The bass is clean and deep. Its just not in ur face and overpowering like the bose flex or JBL flip 6. But a very nice sound that stands out. Very nice build quality. I could listen to this speaker all day.

Hi! Great video! My question is, can you feel the bass? I've previously owned the Kilbourne 2 and tried on various occasions the emberton 2. While i know not a lot of people are fans of how the bass sounds on the Kilbourne, as a drummer i love that in small to middle size rooms i can feel the bass. In comparison, the emberton, while having more clarity in its low end, i can never feel it unless lets say i try it in a small bathroom or something. Basically will the middleton thump or is it geared for someone who prefers a more neutral sound experience? Thanks once again for the video!

Thanks for the info, loved the video. I appreciate the Emberton volume was higher innthisntest but what's it like in the real world. For example in a garden with general background noise. Is it loud enough, for example at 40%, or do you find you'd have to crank it up over the noise and therefore lose some quality meaning I should go with the other one in that scenario? Cheers!

Emberton 2 sound is clearly winner under 75% volume.
For those that want more volume.
Two Emberton 2s in stack mode will get job done + full directional stereo sound can be had by putting speakers side by side & turning one of them around.
Both left & right channel will be facing same directions.
Set volume to 60% on both = Middelton @ 100% volume.
Can't forget about battery life , with such setup the Emberton 2s @ 60% volume will provide 25-27 hour play time.
    Middelton @ 100% volume will provide 8 - 10hr playtime.
2 Emberton 2s in stack mode for the win.
You get more flexibility in use , better sound @ same price as one Middelton.
Hopefully Marshall rep is viewing this taking it in.
They need to lower Middelton price tag.
Sound firmware update much needed as well

I have watched other reviews on both the speakers and while the W-King is likely louder, the main comparison I want is the sound quality and the bass rumble/deep bass. I also found that the W-King T11 needs the newest firmware to be performing at it's best.

Listening with Beyerdynamics DT770 pro, the Emberton II has the very much better sound. Middleton oversaturates the high freqs to much. With the louder bottom it sounds more scooped. Emberton II sounds more professional in my opinion.

  • @georgealexandrescu5369
    @georgealexandrescu5369 Před měsícem

Amazing speakers both of them. It all comes down to the reason you want them. Sound quality is almost 1 to 1. The only difference I think Marshall intended with these 2, is the soundstage and bass, Middleton being more for an outside settling, like beach, park, etc, and emberton being more of a pool party speaker, a room, an open terace, etc.
But both of them perform pretty amazing anywhere, as much as their power lets them to ''fill the area''. No other better choice in this size categories.
Update - Emberton II has slightly better middle range sound. Better for rock, country, vocals, guitar, etc.

    • @pjc4425

      I think so.
Two Emberton 2s in stack mode side by side turn one around & you have stereo - left & right channel facing both directions.
Increased volume of course , 65% volume on both would equal Middelton @ 100% volume.
Emberton 2s will provide more play time , 65% volume provides 25 hour battery life.
      With Middelton @ 100% volume , 8 to 10 hour tops.

I went into the JBL APP, & took out some of the bass.It helped some, but
still, the highs just seemed average at best. Looked at the specs on manual: 30 watts for the cone driver, 10 watts for the tweeter.

@@nicholaschanvn it was totally needless. The vocals don't stand out for a speaker that size. Very poor. They could have focused on adding other features to the speaker to justify the price. I listened closely and the B&O A1 2nd generation has better vocals n it's not even 1/3 of the size of Middleton

@@jay-ti7kd Middleton's only advantage is that it has good looks. i don't like the design style of jbl , anker , sony . I bought Middleton hoping to hear good rock music, but I was disappointed, because it even lost to emberton 2.

@@nicholaschanvn I recently ordered Middleton. Got it for 230$
I may well cancel the order and buy two Bose soundlink flex so I can play them in stereo. Giving the feedback I'm getting. The vocals are two thin. The same reason I returned my motion boom, in addition it looks horrible🤣

@@jay-ti7kd I also bought an anker boom, it only has good bass, but the mid and high are bad, the appearance is too bad. That speaker was destroyed by my brother.

I don't think I'd ever buy either. Most of my audio today is either Sennheiser or Klipsch. Listening to this on Klipsch computer speakers my first thought was that my 1980's boom box had better sound. This just seems to be a bluetooth speaker that looks like a Marshall amp and is made for its cool factor and not the actual sound quality.

these type of videos are so pointless, anyone with half a brain can figure out that something called physics, takes into play here. Obviously, the larger speaker will overall sound better. It all comes down to sound preference, and, portability for one’s personal use.

And budget. But it good to hear the ACTUAL sound rather than having to use your imagination and knowing intellectually how much better a speaker will sound.
