Great review Danny! This helped me, I was wondering about the Middleton. This video confirmed the Acton 3 for me.
Thanks Danny!! Great review as always 👏 Marshall needs to sponsor you asap.
Nice cross section review, thx for including the mains Acton 3 in the comparison! Features aside audio quality is is king.
Hey Danny thank you so much for being real true and honest observations to all your presentations ! Highly appreciated
I've been waiting for your review! 🥺
Was looking forward to this one Danny!
Thanks to your review of the marshall portable speakers, I got myself Tufton and I can say that I love it!! 😁
Another helpful review Danny. To me, the Acton III is the best choice.
Appreciate the review and comparing it with the tufton! Sounds like the ipx67 might come at a sacrifice of audio quality. Hopefully we see a Tufton 2 soon!
hope so... but after i ask Marshall support about Tufton 2 they said nothing about that
Great review Danny; really helped me determine that I might skip this one and go for the Acton III. Keep up the great work!!
Was very helpful man! Thx
Just the kind of video i was looking for, it really does made me change my mind about the middleton.
Do you think the KILBURN ll is still bettr than the middleton? since they are almost on the same price tag I was wondering about which of them is better
I like the STOCKWELL ll, but i don't really think it competes with these two
Great video. Thanks a lot👏. I bought emberton 1 gen after one of your reviews. But now I see that it looks like Tufton is better to me. 😀
@DannyPops, Which speaker sounds better (I listen to different music): Marshall Middleton or Harman/Kardon Go + Play?
Hey danny nice review 👍.
Are going to upgrade that s22 😁
Nice video bro...can you please compare Middleton vs kilburn2
bro i need a no compromise tower kind of speaker , should i go for tufton ? will u suggest me to buy for home speaker
I just replaced my Bose Soundlink mini with a Marshall Middleton - no comparison - the Marshall is much better - more volume, better musical clarity and great bass !
Hey Guys
Just as a Note : Danny Pops doesn’t sponsor my commentary on his reviews. So here’s the deal : Danny pops reviews are totally unbiased, honest, hilarious and what matters the most: “impeccable”. Danny you’ve nailed it again ! Couldn’t agree more & your presentation is damn entertaining too ✌️
@@southpawlibranine3511 🤣 why is his review critical of the Middleton in that case . I own it too & it’s great for a certain genre of music. The sound quality is in between the Emberton & Tufton, which is why it’s been named MIDDLETON
Glad it has a knob for fish! I don't ever think I've seen that on a speaker before.
I am confused between marshall killburn 2 and middleton :/ Let me know which one is a better deal!
Do you know if the speaker would stake with the home models such as the Stanmore 3?
Which sounds better overall t middle ton or t bose flex?
Which one to buy?
Killburn 2 or Middleton
Is it possible for you to compare the Tufton against the Soundboks 3?
How is it compared with SoundLink Flex?
I tried to try out the Middleton today but both of the shops didn't have a retail unit on display. When I hear Just a lil bit from 50 Cent and that bass hits and stays...(like it does on my Skullcandy Crusher headphones) I'm going to buy it...otherwise the Willen is the one to go
As always love the dance check sound 😅😘
Thanks for the review! How do you think this compares to the Harmon Kardon Onyx 7 (or 8)?
Hi! What about Kilburn II compared to Acton III? Thanks.
Thank you for your video, I've been a Marshall fan. Had 2 Kilburn, 1 acton and 1 Woburn. I ordered my Middleton last week, still waiting for mine, ngl I'm kinda disappointed about the sound quality. Tufton and Acton are way better. But hope I will enjoy mine.
I think you'll like it especially when you EQ it to your liking. I try not to do too much of that to get a basic level.
Would you recommend the JBL extreme 3 over this Marshall Middleton?
i hope Marshall take it and make Tufton 2... would be great update to old Tufton
Hey Danny! Great review! I have a question. I have an original Emberton in Forest Green. I don't have an Emberton II and I don't plan to get one, but the Middleton has me intrigued. The Emberton has somewhat of a muddy sound. It's not bad, but it does sound muddy at times. How much difference is there in the sound of the Middleton compared with an original Emberton? Thank you in advance!
Since the owner of the channel has not bothered to respond to you, just here for the ad revenue, I will help you out. The Middleton is basically a BIG Emberton in a lot of respects. It is of course bigger in size but it pushes out a lot more power. I personally do not find the Emberton muddy. My main listening is folk music, where real instruments and vocals are what the music genre is about and you want something quality for that, the emberton does not fail in any aspects of what I use it for. I find the Emberton the absolute best speaker in its size category. It outperforms a lot of speakers twice its size and is my go to speaker for in the kitchen or spare room. I do own a proper stereo system in the living room which no bluetooth speaker regardless of cost would compare to. The Kilmore 2 however I do find very muddy. Skip that one. The Middleton is a very capable speaker. I would take these youtubers opinions with a grain of salt. The best thing to do is to buy the Middleton, test it, if you don't like it send it back. Marshal offer free returns. I recently sent back both the Acton 2 and Kilmore 2 because the sound quality didn't match their quite high price tag. No problems with the return procedure. Marshal make some good speakers, they look gorgeous but I do think they are priced a bit high for what you get. I wouldn't worry about upgrading from the Emberton 1 to a 2, but the Middleton is quite the difference. It is a lot louder than the Emberton with deeper base.
@@vontrap6942 Hi, I also have Emberton and I noticed, that Marshall made more versions of this speaker and they are little different. I am surprised, than no one refered to this detail. You can see it on the bottom of the speaker. Also one version weights about 25g more than the other and they sound different. I had both versions and heavier one is slightly better...
hello ,
your thoughts xtreme 3 vs Middleton , as I'm thinking to pick one from these for the portable size they come in .
thanks for the review , I love your presentation
Hi ! I am getting acton 2 @ 200$ while acton 3 and middleton 350 $
Can i go with acton 2 ?
How would the Middleton compare against the Kilburn II? Maybe a good comparison video?
I have the kilburn II and I would say it is worth every penny and the sound quality is amazing
Hai ! Danny I see every video of you .I have a request to you in next video could you try every models like Marshall action3 ,stockwell2 , Marshall tufton all with 3.5mm jack connection with Apple Music hi-res file’s because you can get the raw beauty of those speakers you can hear the soul of every Marshall speakers….❤❤❤please can you do it?
Is there an option in the app to turn off the starting sound? For example JBL has that option. If not I think they definitely should add it.
Hi Danny! I was just wondering if you could recommend some other portable speakers in the same weight class that might have a better/less processed sound than the Middleton. Would be really nice!
im soooo itching to get the MIDDLETON! its the best for my indoor casual volleyball game as a BG music and simple get together with friends!
i have the emberton and if you're too far away you wont hear it already. thinking Middleton will be different!
The Marshall Stockwell 2 was also able to charge another device, so this is nothing they're catching up just now.
Would you recommend the Acton 2?
Can you please compare this with the soundcore X600?
How does this compare to the Stockwell 2?
How does it sound compared to the Motion Boom that, when EQ’ed correctly, to me still sounds unbelievable! (Out of the box it’s sounds worst I ever heard!).
what is the recomeded charger volts m watts? thanks
can use it as Stack with other Bluetooth Speakers? or only with Marshall?
Please do a Middleton vs Xtreme 3 and a Middleton vs Killburn 2 video. They're much needed.
I just wish they'd do a firmware update and support the Killburn II seeing as they're still selling it as part of their primary range.
Did you try beolit 20 ?
The marshall Middleton is a phenomenal speaker. It has very good audible bass down to 35-40hz in my tests. It has more deep bass than my extreme 3 while being smaller. But here is the catch. It was not like that out of the box. It did not sound great and bass was meh. So I disassembled the speaker. Turns out the screws holding the active drives in were so loose I could turn them with my finger so it wasn't making the best seal. So loctited every screw on this speaker and tightened them properly. With a much tighter seal, the bass came alive. Obviously no one's going to do what I did so I think there may be some qc issues. Also sometimes the bass treble adjustments don't work on the app. And 3 times today the speaker randomly disconnected and reconnected. I have reported the issues to marshall.
It's a shame because it really is a good speaker. But it's power and depth and masked by its pour assembly.
Also I still think you had your expectations too high. You honestly thought this would compete with a tufton and the ac powered models? It's a 4 pound waterproof bt speaker. Not sure what you expected. It's sound equals it's size. I actually think once assembled properly it sounds bigger then it is.
Wow bro I just got mine yesterday and I'm in love. This is the 2nd speaker I ever purchased from MARSHALL. It does NOT dissapoint. Absolute fire. The sound quality is incredible.
Hey there. How do you disassemble the Middleton? I want to check mine to see if the screws are in good. I just bought it.
He's either bluffing Or he received a defective piece.@@tommythomas5299
Suggestion between Middleton and kilburn 2 ?
Is the acton 3 better than the kilburn 2?
I tried a lot of speakers: jbl flip, extreme, hk onyx, tdk. But the Marshall is best of all of them. Used kilbirn2, Emberton and now Middleton. I love Marshall.
Hey danny I was wondering if you would be reviewing the Klipsch ProMedia Heritage 2.1? I just ordered it and want to know what I’m in for at $200
I didng even know about those, they are pretty though! I edit on some cheaper speakers. Let me know if you like em!!
Acton 3 or Tufton? For price acton cheaper $20
Could you please tell us something about the battery? Does it really last 20 hours?
Great review Danny. I love the honesty. Im excited to hear this Middleton in person. In ur opinion would u say the Middleton is better and more power than the bose flex? 🤔 I would imagine it's supposed to be louder due to size difference.
thanks eric! I'm probably going to make a video about this comparison seeing yours and others question.... of the top of my head I'm thinking the bose is a better value.
Since he won't give you a straight answer I will. Bose flex is good but it's limited to its size. No bass below 50hz. But it's got good thumpy mid bass. The middleton is probably 4 times as powerful. Much much deeper bass. I could hear bass tones as low as 35hz. It's just a much bigger sound. It's also twice the size of the flex. Middleton is good just make sure all the screws are tight if you get one and the bass sounds weak. Because it's very good. I have never heard a speaker this small have so much deep rumble to the bass.
@@alexlittig7927 👍NICE what I wanted to hear. I can't wait to hear this baby in person. Gonna order mine this weekend
@Eric Martinez the screws holding the active woofers in were so loose I could back them out with my fingers. Loctited every screw I could find. The speaker makes better seal now and bass improved tramedicly. Before hand I was thinking what Danny was saying in his video. So unfortunately do to pour construction some people may get speakers with lower performance. The good news is this speaker is super easy to work on and I did the repair in 10 minutes
@@alexlittig7927 thanks for advice. Good to KNOW. Hopefully mine don't have same problem. But if it does at least I know I have idea to improve SOUND
Nice review
Is Bose flex better or not?
Hi! How is it going? I love your videos! However Im from Argentina and its a bit hard to me to follow all the explanation in English... is there any way to be able to watch them with Spanish subtitles? thank
@@DannyPops They are only available in English, I´m afraid :/ Thanks anyway!
Flip 5 or Middleton??
Omg se tufton just sound so good, it sounds like you are listening original audio source
I was hoping the Middleton would have a slightly better review. I recently bought the Acton 3 for our store but would also like something portable I can use in my car that is a little more powerful than the emberton (The car system isn’t working).
"really weird because it has holes on the side of it"....that's because the 2 passive radiators are on the side, how could they shift the air if there weren't any holes? 😅
Can you take this with you in an airplane?
I mean in your luggage not your carry-on?
The upper bass is too overwhelming on the Middleton making the instruments or lower harmonics sound muffled.
Wow Danny I'm suprised u didn't like the Middleton all that much. ... Must be because u already have the tufton. I just got my Middleton yesterday. It's the 2nd speaker I ever purchased from MARSHALL. And I have to say I'm in love. It is absolute 🔥. The sound is nice and clear and loud and powerful. That BASS is thumping. All music genres I played on it from classic rock to hip hop sounds amazing. THIS is worth every penny. Love the design, features, everything. After I heard how good the willen sounded I COULDNT wait to hear this.
I am also considering buying middleton, however i am still confused between killburn 2 and Middleton :/
@@shawr95 I hear u. They are both SAME price. Middleton is just smaller and more portable. Kilburn is bigger and probably a bit louder. Both of these are great choices tho. Can't go wrong EITHER way. MARSHALL makes amazing products
I am here for his choice of music haha
I just purchased this. It's nice but not $300 nice. It has a little more bass, is a little louder, and a little clearer than my W-King D8. It's definitely not worth $221 more than the D8. I might return it.
They upgraded to BLUETOOTH 5.2 for this range
Yeah that A3 is slapping hard
Good job Danny 👏👏
I'm waiting for the availability in cream but given your test I already know that I'm going to be as disappointed as you...😥
haha thanks for watching MIKA! It's pretty good when you boost the treble I found, but yeah pretty processed. Mixed feelings.
Did he say bass as in the fish?
Would be great to see a comparison between Middleton vs Killburn II
That is why i buy the middleton than the JBL extreme 3 that is only $209 at Marshalls Dept store(like Ross or TJ Maxx store 😅 just to make it clear) though they said that the xtreme is more loudier and more bassy but what i like about middleton is the design its like classic and modern design collide!
@@alnajirlani8785 ohhh im a filipino too.. by the way i bought mine in Amazon and the proce is also $299..
im from ph also..im planning to buy it on our famous online store..im hesitating i might get an fake middleton because the emberton has so many fakes..
@@jhad0205 bili ka sa legit store boss. In amazon walang peke kaya surething ako lagi tapos monthly payment pa 60 lang bayad ko for 5mos hehehe its a good deal. No need to pay $300 for isang bagsakan hehehe. Believe me boss maganda tunog nitong mashalls even on 25% volume you can still hear the BASS. Dami kong kasamahang pinoy here sa US na naaamaze sa tunog nito small but punchy daw. Mas maganda pa daw kesa sa mga BT speakers nila(BOSE,JBL portable BT Speakers) but im still planning to buy JBL EXTREME pag may bago na silang labas like Xtreme 4 but that is maybe after 2 yrs from now 😄
better get a teufel rockster cross in this price and size class. it still blows all away. next bigger step is jbl boombox level...
How does it compare to Killburn 2?
@@DannyPops I just needed a portable Bluetooth speaker with amazing sound for small gatherings and letting it loose sometimes.
Been waiting for killburn 3 but Marshall released this (Middleton) which I think is compact enough and I like that it is usb type-c.
What do you recommend?
@@sahilpreetsingh9636 At the end of the day, you need to just choose something. The Kilburn 2 sounds terribly boxy and not anywhere near these guys even though it looks nice (not as nice in person, it's got lots of seams and a pleather feel). If you want a Marshall, this may be your go to.
@@DannyPops thanks 😊 btw we love your cool shirts and your honest reviews. Looking forward to seeing more content from you soon. Goodluck
Middleton sounds horrible. I know you don't like Kilburn II, but I would have liked to see the comparison with Kilburn II because KII has more similarities in the spec and price point for comparison purposes, but not with Tufton. To me, Tufton is more of a Woburn/Stanmore class.
That vs Charge 5?
@@theotherhouse5910 not a Charge killer as it is twice as expensive 😆
I bought Jbl C5 for my dad last year I think it's that great sound quality, and last month i bought Middleton for myself, first time experience with Marshall I just thought that JBL C5 is more better and I'm so sad for $300. But after a week I visited my dad at hometown and test the JBL C5 again😂 OMG it blow my mind 😮 Middleton is much better than i thought, Lounder, Clearer and much more bassy❤
Middleton is a recommendation❤️😍
ACTON 3 FOR ME...ALSO
One a portable speaker, and the other is a home speaker. Of course these speakers will sound different. This is a fake critical review.
? Its a comparison between 3 portable speakers and 1 home speaker. Some people would like to hear the difference to the home speaker. Maybe not you but still. Kind of a strange critic. I would want the range of comparisons to he as broad as possible so you can choose for yourself what you should get or what your specific criterea are.
yes I said... BASS. I know.
I just purchased a JBL charge 5 ND version, & I'm not impressed with the sound quality. Now, before I go any further into detail, I listen mainly to classic rock, & grunge & metal from the 90's.If this is the type of music that you listen to, STAY AWAY FROM THIS SPEAKER! Your feelings will be hurt.
I read the specs that came with it.30 watts to the cone driver, 10 for the tweeter. The sound engineers at JBL got this one all wrong. Should've been more like 25 & 15, respectively.
With that being said, I fiddled around with the 3 band EQ on the JBL APP. I was able to get some of the bass out, but the mids & highs sounded dull, flat, & lifeless. Just more of a bassy overtone, without being truly neutral sounding.
If your a fan of hip-hop, rap, electronic, etc. music with a lot of reverb & mixing, you'll love it. If your're a fan of rock & metal, STAY AWAY FROM THIS SPEAKER. You will not like it.
Which is why I've been looking & listening at the reviews of marshall speakers. From what I understand, what they may lack in bas, they make up for it with clarity & detail. Especially, for the mids & highs.
Sorry, dude. I know this podcast is to talk about MARSHALL speakers, but I felt compelled to let other consumers in on this. Thanks for the info, good video. Keep up the GOOD WORK!
Would be great if you compare it with xtreme3

@gitarman666 I've had my unit for a year and though i don't stress the battery it's held charge fine *edited half to held
Hi ,we are wholesaler of marshall speakers in china 😊
Can you speak towards why some of these speakers have loose screws? See comments below.
Fucking sucks, I bought one a week ago and suddenly stopped charging, turned off and never turned back on again. Also when you turn up the volume to max, bass sound is decreased considerably. I’m going to the store right now to change it for another brand speaker.
Bass loss is with every build in battery bleutooth speaker there is no brand in the world that keeps the bass the same untill max volume! Even the bose soundlink max wich costs 400 bucks also loses it's bass above 70% of volume so if you want bass untill the end buy the jbl 310 party speaker or the jbl 120 or for a real party the jbl 710!
Good device.. PATHETIC battery life and customer service!! Just abt 4hrs with hi volume. Totally unexpected from Marshall!
