Thank you for talking about the war in Sudan bro. My grandma’s neighbour got hit by a stray bullet in her home which resulted in her leg being amputated. Thankfully my family there has fled to Uganda but things are still bad over there. Great video as always man!

But yeah.
First thing you ate is Dam3 which just means any meat, tomato based stew base in Sudan. Could be eaten as is or mixed into other stews.
Second thing is Bosh which is just how we eat our beans sometimes, throwing everything to create a larger, more diverse meal than the usual monotone "ful"
(Ful is just beans in Arabic.)
We call Bosh "Fet'ah" as well, the word meaning "to tear apart [bread]"

Man I used to have Sudanese neighbours back in my home town and I used to go over there with their son after school to play on his xbox. the highlight of the day was always binging on his moms exotic food😂 I remember this meat stew but there was some super unique and fresh peanut butter salad( yes its a thing and its awesome!) and some special dip for their falafel made with peanut butter and jalapenos and some other stuff I'm not smart enough to figure out😂. Sudanese food is very fersh , saucy ,glossy and hearty it just worms up the soul. this gave me video just brought back some sweet memories form my childhood I'm almost in tears . thanks for the video man you're a national treasure.

So are the names ful and bosh used interchangeably?
@@GoldenGullybosh is the one with bread and sometimes falafel and onions inside among other ingredients. Ful is just that without the bread inside and rather u scoop it and eat
@@GoldenGully Typically ful refers to the fava bean (plant and name of a dish) and Bosh is a dish made with more of the water the beans are cooked in ( bean juice 😅). Bosh originated more as a poverty dish but is widely spread now. ( that’s what my parents told me at least)

as a Sudanese man..... i am pleased with the rating, and about the civil war..... it wasn't fun when we were there butt I'm alright rn, and you should have tried Aqashe(اقاشي) when you were at it, its basically chicken (or beef) grilled with flour and other spices that have been roasted on a pan to give it a light golden color, it's pretty damn good.

If you want fresh falafel, get it only from a shop that only sells falafel or an arabic restaurant. Take away shops that make other things like kebabs or shawarma are more likely to pre make the falafel.
Fül is pretty common in egypt too but we don't add falafel to it
