Iam from Panjgoor, a city in South Western Balochistan neighbouring Iran. Mentioned below are some of the dates that we grow and each of them has their own unique taste and textures.
    1. Kaarubah ( a little grape like date filled with honey like juice when it ripens, not much to chew but one could eat ton of them).
    2. Aabdandan ( Aab meaning water and dandan meaning teeth, actually its very soft even if it's not ripe. Dissolves instantly in your mouth and super sweet)
    3. Mozzati ( A near cousin of Muzafati from your video)
    4. Sabzo ( consumed well before ripening because it's way more crunchy and Juicy when it halfway through and gets its green/bluish colour)
    5. Redag ( when ripe, it's texture is a little bit hard like a refrigerated Mars chocolate and way less sweet from other dates of our town, my personal favourite. A bit rare too.)
    6. Alina ( A round yellow and medium sweet date it ripens too late, well near winters so it's a fresh date when there is none other.)
    7. Rabai ( creamy and sweet flavour)
    Others
    8.begum Jungi
    9. Sor

For those wondering, different species of dates can be grown in different parts of the world. It's not like, for example, medjool can only be grown in cali. Additionally, if you're gonna try it for the first time, make sure to split them in half with your fingers to check for bugs(usually about 1/25 has bugs). Finally, i think the best way to describe the flavor of a date is; a rich, mature thick honey, slightly simmered with a bit of molasses and smoked flavor, occasionally dabbled with a floral accent. However this can change depending on the date you chose, however i find that this description is best applicable when enjoying a medjool. :)

When describing the flavor of a date, you can use words such as sweet, caramel-like, rich, and earthy. You may also describe the texture as chewy and soft, with a slight nuttiness. Additionally, you can mention any notes of honey, molasses, or vanilla that you taste. The flavor can vary depending on the type of date, so it's important to specify which variety you're describing.

there are two ways to eat the fresh dates. some like to eat it the way you did for us and others like myself prefer to eat it when it's a bit more riped meaning the fresh dates become softer almost like the feel of a very riped peach. not too riped cause if you leave the fresh dates to ripe for too long, it will spoil very quickly. fresh dates will take about three to seven days to ripen, depending on temperature and desired ripeness. i prefer to eat fresh dates after the medjool. i'll eat medjool for ramadan and fresh dates whenever. ajwa dates are mostly used for arabic sweets especially in the sweets called mammoul. you should try them! they're like soft cookies stuffed with dates inside of them.

I grew up in Saudi before moving to Toronto as a kid. I used to go back every year though to visit up until a few years ago. So I’d say I’ve had some of the best dates around Alhamdulillah. You got Ajwa absolutely right. It is incredibly rich and sweet Subhanallah. Dark honey/molasses is spot on. I will say this .. the quality over there in Saudi Is on a different level. You won’t find them to be as hard as you found this one. They’re quite soft and chewy with a bite.
For me personally, good quality Sukkari is on another level. I can almost bet if you tried that, It would be your favourite. It’s hands down the most delicious. Subhanallah. I describe the taste as an intense caramel, with notes of honey and nuts. Beautiful. And the texture is perfect as well. It’s not hard but has just the right amount of bite. The sukkari we get here in the GTA, is just not on the same level unfortunately.

As a Saudi my life with dates has been sagai sukari ajwa (barely) and a new type not sure though called jalaxy which I think is closely related to sukkari and about medjool I think it’s a date that can be grown in multiple regions not like the others and there is also ilkhlas like the sura which i think is a method since you always see it covered in some molasses like syrup though I’ve never seen the last 2

Chatgpt says: Date flavor is sweet, rich, and caramel-like with a hint of honey. The texture is chewy and slightly sticky. When fresh, dates have a more tender, slightly juicy texture, while dried dates are firmer and have a more concentrated sweetness. If i HAD to describe it, dates are quite mellow and rich due to their blunt and subtle taste and gooey texture. This is accompanied by an all-round light sweetness. Not something one tends to binge, but rather a pallete cleanser and initial starter. This opinion may be due to the wide usage of dates for initially breaking the fast.

Grass is one of the most common and abundant types of plants on Earth, and it plays a vital role in the ecosystem. It is a member of the Poaceae family, which includes many different species that vary in size, shape, and color. Some grasses grow to be several meters tall, while others are small and inconspicuous. They can be found in a wide range of habitats, from forests and meadows to deserts and wetlands.
One of the most important functions of grass is that it serves as a primary source of food for many herbivorous animals, such as cattle, sheep, and deer. In fact, grass is so essential to many grazing animals that they have evolved specialized teeth and digestive systems to help them efficiently extract nutrients from this tough and fibrous plant.
Grass also plays a crucial role in preventing soil erosion, especially in areas where there is little vegetation. The dense network of roots that grass develops helps to anchor the soil in place and prevents it from being washed away by rainfall or blown away by wind. Moreover, grass is effective at absorbing and storing water, which can help to prevent flooding and erosion during heavy rainfall.
Another benefit of grass is that it contributes to the oxygen cycle by producing oxygen through photosynthesis. This is important for maintaining a healthy atmosphere, as oxygen is necessary for the survival of many different types of organisms, including humans.Additionally, grass provides a habitat for many different species of insects, birds, and small mammals. The tall grasses of meadows and prairies offer shelter and nesting sites for many species of birds, while the underground burrows created by small mammals such as rabbits and groundhogs provide homes for other animals.
In conclusion, grass is an essential and often underappreciated component of the natural world. It provides food, shelter, and oxygen for countless organisms, and helps to prevent soil erosion and flooding. The importance of grass in the ecosystem cannot be overstated, and it is essential that we take steps to preserve and protect this vital resource.
