I used to live in this town and religion. I left it about 2 years ago. The reason why people were friendly to you guys is not because of new leadership, it is because all the leadership of the religion are in jail and people are starting to realize there is a life outside of it all. People realize they can make their own decisions and be happy and better for it.

My dad was the bishop. They are only mean to the ones who leave the group, we werenât supposed to have toys but everything is falling apart and people are not following all the rules now. I am sure most of the families you are talking about is kids from different families put together because most of the parents have been told to leave and never come back. I never knew my real dad and my mom was sent away too. I lived in a house with 25 kids under 12 and about 5 of them had parents

Believe your kids, and don't tell them they're just complaining(even about little things) or act like they don't know what they're talking about(they're trying to tell you something new that shouldn't or doesn't normally happen they will have a hard time starting the concersation so don't shut them down), just acknowledge that you heard them, and that you'll take care of it. Rosie Rose The parents of the children have grown up being molested themselves from a young age, and they were taught that nothing about it was wrong. As sad as it is, this is a ânormalâ part of life for them, and due to their isolation, they donât know any different. They likely think that this is a normal occurrence for those of us in the outside world too. Iâm sure that many of these young girls and children initially feel that sunken feeling that something about what is being done to them isnât right, but those feelings can be easily manipulated due to them being so sheltered, and the men doing this are fully aware of that. This kind of environment is a pedophileâs/sexual predatorâs dream world for that reason. The only knowledge that these girls have of ârightâ and âwrongâ is provided to them by their abusers. In cases like these, the parents are just as much of a victim as their children are, and so we canât really fault them for not stepping in for something they themselves have gone through and were manipulated to believe that it was ok. I actually work with about 40 polygamist woman. I think they have broken off, they told me they each have there own clan since Jeffâs left. They still practice it but they donât follow much of the rules anymore. Theyâre so nice and very respectful. They talk to us about anything and everything. One of the girls was actually very close with Warren Jeffs but I donât want to ask because that may be disrespectful. They have definitely changed and just want to move forward from what they have lived.
I really love how much respect you guys showed towards a society that made you uncomfortable. You guys are great humans. This was very educational I loved it.

I would not be surprised if the leader is preventing his followers from caring for the child cemetery. As someone who is from this town, when I first started watching this video I was honestly kind of offended over some of the things you were saying out of bias and rumors, I appreciated the end where you went back and realized you did have that bias and that a lot of it was wrong. There are definitely a lot of faults to this town but there are also many beautiful things you donât find anywhere else. Also, I do know where at least one tunnel is if you ever do come back :)

Good video guys! When I lived in St. George & was in Jr. High a 40 year old man was arrested on the playground trying to drag off a 14 year old girl who threw at fit screaming. He said that she was to be his wife and her father told him to go pick her up. It made the local news. Later on the sheriff let the man go and the girl never came back to school. This was in 1991 and was a scary thing to see. They are regular people who have different beliefs then most. It was nice to see how things have changed for them in the way that they live and with more freedom. As for the cemetery and the graves looking abandoned...they move & separate the families as a way of punishment if they don't obey (words on side of house) so the parents of the babies prolly live somewhere else entirely & cannot keep up or visit the graves. Can't believe I came across this! I live in a small town in southern Utah and I have neighbors who have escaped Colorado city and came to my town but they have only known the polygamist lifestyle and it's hard for them to adjust because they have been 'trapped' for their whole life.

I live near this town. The reason for the water is the city water isnât safe to drink. The water theyâre gathering in that park is really good natural spring water, so itâs good to drink and cook with.

Me and my family used to live near a community of FLDS. They are very sketchy people. They dont finish their houses because they dont want to pay taxes. One of our good family friends owned a company, and the flds people scammed him and he had to file for bankruptcy. Some of them are super sketchy.
Not finishing your house to not pay taxes completely lazy or genius while we pay they don't hmmmm

We were just here a few days ago staying at a campground nearby. This area is creepy as hell. Went to a grocery store and nobody was nice or smiled. The properties give off a bad vibe. Itâs strange because this landscape is absolutely gorgeous. All the thick walls around the properties made us feel extremely not welcome. As we drove to the campsite we got a ton of stares. Iâm glad you guys had a nice experience with people because we definitely didnât.
Christina Calderon i went camping here w my boyfriend last year and people stared a lot and seemed very caught off guard and almost scared of us. We bought cheese from that little shop and went to the graveyard too but this place is definitely creepy.
Yâall are appreciated for bringing attention to stories that are being suppressed by law enforcement! I been binge watching yâall and Iâm addicted!! Or listening while I work at least, this one thing Iâve noticed tho is she needs a pony tail band something fierce or a hat maybe! I'm from Hildale Utah and Colorado City Az. And we always been taught to be respectful and kind to everyone including the outsiders because they look at us of who we are.
I really enjoyed the tour and I have know idea of what tunnels you were talking about unless you wanted to go for a hike, there is a few different places you could go but probably the best is the natural bridge up in the canyon.

I went through this town years ago, long before the government came down on this cult. It was very strange, people were very cold and not very friendly, we stopped just for gas and food and even visited a government building for game and fish. I'm sure the employees were part of the cult.
Me too. We didnât know until later what the town was. We stopped and ate at a restaurant and it was very odd. We definitely got a lot of stares and strange looks. We got out of there pretty quick. It felt like the Twilight Zone. Years later I read about this town and realized it was Colorado City.
SophieSophs I donât remember seeing anyone in prairie dresses but we only stopped and ate at a little cafe. I do remember that it was summer and I was wearing shorts and it seemed like thatâs why people were staring. I was about 40 years old at the time so it wasnât like they were really short or anything too revealing. It was just a weird feeling and when we got back in the car, my husband and I both commented, âWell, that was strange.â We are from Texas and used to people being extremely friendly everywhere, so at the time we chalked it up to that. It was actually years later when I remembered that it was this town when it was on the news. Itâs very out of the way and the only reason we were there was because we had made the drive around to the north rim of the Grand Canyon.
brucedari most likely the cops work with them in the town theyâre in and other people like at gas stations and stores , they communicate and let eachother know whoâs in town . they all work together becuz the dirty cops probably made a deal with them :/ so sad

I've been there! I was driving from Kansas to California and made a special stop. We ate at the two wives cafe and got a lot of looks! We drove around afterwards and all the kids stopped and stared while their parents grabbed them to go inside. It was a weird place! The houses were HUGE
I live in Arizona close to Sahuarita, and at a school I went to once there was a teachers aid who used to live in this community. She broke away from it with her daughters, but they still followed the religion very closely(they wore the dresses, they all had their hair the same way, and idk they were all just very strict with themselves) sometimes she would talk about the community, itâs really interesting.
The child cemetery gave me chills. :(

This is my hometown. I grew up in the FLDS cult. The reason theyâre getting water at the park is because itâs fresh spring water and itâs really good water. The reason people were friendly is because their leaders are in prison and theyâre coming to the realization that the outside world isnât evil like they were taught

Interesting, an LDS person told me recently that the FLDS no longer existed. These people are still very much there. My heart hurts for them. Babyland was very sad to see, but I am glad you showed it.

Iâm in a cult survivors support group and there are ex flds women in it. They are definitely in existence. Thereâs also the Kingston group, which is different from the Jeffs flds group.

I love about 2 hours away from there, And every time I got there I always get a gross feeling. But the park that you guys were at there like a huge hidden slide that looks like it came from the 50s itâs really fun.
So the houses stay in ruin. They keep them that way to claim theyâre under construction for tax and other ways to cut corners.
