How about if all the cyclists in London who own a car, put their bikes away for a week and ONLY drive? Within two days the media will be pleading that those drivers get back on their bikes again!!!

If a bike is going at great speed, then it's either an illegal bike or someone is pedalling fast (or going downhill). If I was going to be hit by someone doing 30mph, I'd rather be hit by a cyclist than a car. I'd be far less likely to be killed (and the cyclist would suffer injuries as well so it woudln't be in their best interest)
Also, a car is wider than a bike and so it is far easier for a bike to manoeuvre out of the way of someone than a car. There's too much anti cycling rhetoric by informed journalists
