    I don't live in London, but love cycling when I visit. Good luck with the campaign and hope the best outcome for cycling happens!

      People who live outside but come into London and cycle on Santander bikes, or hire bikes like Lime or Forest, or bring a folding bike like a Brompton, or even leave an old tatty bike chained up in a station somewhere waiting for them... you are a central part of London getting to love cycling! Please do email the candidates to be mayor and send us a pic #LondonLovesCycling on Twitter, TikTok or Instagram by 2 May! lcc.org.uk/campaigns/london-loves-cycling/

    I moved to London about eight years ago and just in that time the quality of the infrastructure has really improved dramatically. There's still lots of missing links, and it's not going to work for everyone, but when it does work it's so enabling. I'm convinced that cycling is the best way to get around London: it's cheaper than taking the tube, faster than walking, and better exercise than taking the bus.

      Yeah it's got so much better in the last decade.

      Thank you Georgina that's so heartening and exactly what the people standing to be your next mayor need to hear! We're totally agree and we want to see those missing links sorted so you can definitely add that into your ask when you email them...

      @@xxwookey it's 1.26 million cycle journeys a day now, equivalent to a third of the tube. You can really feel the difference in the infrastructure quality and the number of people.
      Going to sound repetitive, but please do email the candidates to be mayor and tell them that you love cycling, and send us a pic #LondonLovesCycling on Twitter, TikTok or Instagram by 2 May so we can add them to the gallery lcc.org.uk/campaigns/london-loves-cycling/

    I have redesigned half of my borough in tower hamlets to match new and I,probed cycle infrastructure, taking key notes from placed like Denmark and the Netherlands.
    They match the same scale of the roads width however I haven’t made it a complete 100% accurate scale just to save time and all that. I am currently in the middle of a long battle with tower hamlets council about getting some new cycle routes and infrastructure however whenever I get through to them it’s a new excuse.
    I was wondering if you had any tips on how to get through to the council about stuff like that

      Hiya this is exactly our bag. Could you please email us to campaign@lcc.org.uk and towerhamlets@lcc.org.uk - we know the council in Tower Hamlets is having issues at the moment and we'd love to chat about ways to work together...

    Why is no one wearing a helmet

    • @xxwookey
      @xxwookey Před 4 měsíci +6

      It a realistic representation of actual cyclists. They are wearing a range of headwear which includes some helmets. It's quite well done IMHO.

      No need when there is safe infrastructure for cyclists! The statistics prove so.

    • @LondonCycling
      @LondonCycling  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Hi Sam, we think wearing a helmet is an individual choice and should not be a legal requirement. It's a good, complicated question and there's a full explanation of our position here lcc.org.uk/campaigns/our-position-on-helmets/
