If you can afford them Red wing is the way to go. I've worn many pairs of shitty boots, that's probably half the reason I walk funny now. I can't wait to get myself a pair of $200+ Red wings. It's not that much compared to what some of these people pay for the dunks and whatever vintage sneakers we wore as kids.
Everyone in my shop wears the moccasin red wings, no steel toe and a very limited tread but also slip resistant. I do Tile though so we aren’t doing welding lol. Only on side jobs Ill braze some copper but thats about all I am doing with fire.

I quit wearing steel toes a while back. I wear the same Ariat cowboy boots that Rip wears in Yellowstone. Most comfortable boot I've ever worked in. My grandpa always told me before he left this shitty world, don't go cheap on your boots or your bed, because if you're not in one you're in the other
Agreed I have Ariat boots ( comfy and durable). While the price up front feels like a lot, the long term cost is less than the sweatshop/ child labor shoes most people in the us wear.

@@danielfinney4295 if it means anything to you I agree with you. If your feet aren't healthy those problems can work their way up the body especially if there's any injury. Lost of modern shoes too because they don't give at all out pressure or squeeze the foot too much that the arches start to drop which is bad. I've heard a few sports medicine professionals talk about it happening to their semipro athletes.
I also just remembered one of the biggest issues with steel toes is that the toe caps themselves are meant to fit both sides. They don't have a left and right form for them which can cause uneven pressure on the toes or cramp them.
Red wing is, in my opinion, the best boot available. Comfortable, tough, and the only boot i can squeeze 2 years out of. Timberland doesn't get enough recognition, they make awesome comfortable work boots as well. Glad to see them getting some love. I was surprised not to see any Carolina boots on here. They are a amazing boot, especially if your on a student budget.
I wore my Justin’s for 6 years until the sole came completely off very comfortable boots, my keen moc toes 3 years of wear and still very comfortable. I only bought my redwing Irish setter ashbys because my new position at work requires black boots
I've had my White's for 17 years. I have a pair of my father's White's boots I wear occasionally that are 52 years old. Both have been rebuilt a number of times over two careers that together spanned over 60 years. Add in Fox River socks made in Iowa for a combination that will serve you for a lifetime.
Only one honest fella here. Anyone who works on their feet all day knows damn well there’s almost no such thing as comfortable enough to be called comfortable. Feet are gonna hurt the same no matter what after you been on em for 12+ hours
If youre on a budget get timb pros, comfy af, Thorogood USA 🇺🇸 all the way if you want something to last and comfy after break in, plus they can be restitched and new sole
Twisted x for me I walk and climb 8-9 miles per shift and have great support and most comfortable boot I’ve ever worn, been wearing them for over 10 years and last more than red wing and ariat don’t like the thorogoods they are not comfortable at all and a pain to lace them up, Justin’s are for entry level people barely dipping their toes in the field and once they wear out they upgrade to other boots
That's a decent brand from what I hear. I always wanted to go with the Red wings though. I can't afford them I end up with Walmart or timberland, and 2nd hand. 🤷

I went at em for about 30 minutes just twisting and compressing the leather. Now the most comfortable boots I own😂
I’ve worn Carolina’s for a couple years then gave Chippewa a try, I’m definitely satisfied with the Chippewas I have. I’ll probably end up buying more pairs in the future
The Durango rebel steel toe work boots are phenomenal very comfortable and seems durable and is good for a brick masonry job or any other job that is in the construction industry.
Depending on what conditions I’m in, I wear Ariat Boots, Carolina Work Boots, Wolverines, and Justin. I only have one pair of steel toe boots from Timberland. I do however prefer my Carolina boots since they are very comfortable for me and are not too heavy.
I wore timberland pros. Went to buy replacement boots and the specific timberland pros were not in stock. So I got Ariats. They were not as comfortable as my 2 year old worn out timberland pros.
thoroughgood's aren't that comfortable is boot I've owned I don't know how many sets of them but what they do offer is the ultimate foot protection when you eat dum dum for lunch and drop in 1800 lb Beam on your foot you get to keep your toes
Sure if you like a $250 boot thats wore out after 9 months. Then they wont stand behind their product and will try to upsale you again with a $90 resole.
My buddy swears by them. Never owned a pair personally. Might have to try them out since now the closest Redwing dealer is over an hour and a half away.
I don’t know who J and K is, but JK boots are definitely not slippers right out of the box, unless your slippers prohibit your foot from bending when you switch from the brake / gas pedals
I’ve never had a pair of red wings that lasted me longer than 6 months, don’t know if it’s because the salesman doesn’t know what I’m actually looking for or what but I’ll never buy red wings again. Id rather get the 50$ special from Walmart once a year. Standing in 1-2 inches of water all day.

Best I ever had was Dr. Martens Industrial, they discontinued that line, but I’ve been wearing my pair for 4 years and they’re even more comfortable than the shoes I wear 😂 Steel toe, slip resistant, static dissipative. They are great! I just replaced the laces and insoles the other day and have been looking at mink oil and other conditioners to make them look good again. But I don’t plan to stop wearing them!
I wear my Red Wing 604 boots. Extremely comfortable with the SuperSole 2.0 on them. But I’ve been eyeing up a pair of Iron Rangers. Not for a work boot, just a going out with my Wife boot.
Double h all day had a pair for 5 years definitely worth the money but they wear hard on your feet after a while like die hards great quality boot overall though
