Hi Tessie Laura here. Wow I love old books. I have a ball canning book from 1939. I like the old canning books better. Great gift you received! I had a bag sealer 20 years ago, but it didn't work properly. It would take out the air, and seal but air would leak back in within an hour or two. Mabie someday I will get another one and try again. I bought some little glass jars yesterday for my salve. I also made a new batch of elderberry syrup. Have a blessed day.😍

Jumpoff A Truck breaks down, washing machine stops working and refrigerator stopped working yesterday. Doctor bills from test my husband had is starting to come in. All this has happened within the month. It’s just so overwhelming!
Jumpoff A Well, we bought a washing machine cause that was the first thing to go. My husband said it wasn’t worth the cost to repair cause it was so old. Then “squeaky” had to be repaired. That’s our truck’s name. That was $700. We had a terrible thunderstorm, the power went out and our old frig wouldn’t work anymore. And I forgot to mention 6 weeks ago my fur baby, Chico, had injured his ccl. Thank goodness he didn’t have to have surgery. He’s doing much better. Still not taking him for walks yet I have suffered with anxiety for over a year now. And with things happening so much lately it doesn’t help at all. I am on meds and it does help. Thank you so much for your kind gesture!!! Your prayers, kindness and friendship is what I need the most!!!❤️

Wonderful gift you received! Nice way to store it. My oldest daughter went to the thrift store yesterday and she bought me 5 books for a dollar. All were cookbooks but one. One of the cook books was a 1944 Ball Canning Book, such nice pictures as well as recipes. I also got a great price on a Honeysuckle turkey at the grocery yesterday, $.49 a pound. That will be part of our Easter meal.

Good Morning Tessie and friends, Well it's another wonderful day in the neighborhood looks like it's going to be a nice day today. Yesterday was just beautiful I was out and about going places. Went to the bank first, then on to the grocery store for our weekly food. As we browsed the aisles, I noticed how the price of some items have gone up from last week and in previous weeks before. After we finished at the grocery store on to Rite Aid for ensure for mom and a few other needed items. Even in this store I noticed items costing more as this store has almost everything you can find. After we got home and put everything away I spent some time relaxing out side. It was bright and sunny and I enjoyed listening to the birds chirping away punctuated by the occasional siren that seemed to last forever till it faded off in the distance. It seems like a lot of sirens these days life living in the city is not easy to find a peaceful moment even though I am not near the actual city. I am in the suburbs having a little more space to have a small garden. Still for the most part it peaceful most of the time especially in the mornings with all the birds singing there song. Today I'll be cleaning the house and yard. Just wanted to share a little of my day with you. Have a wonderful blessed day my friends:) God Bless you all :)
Wow busy day I'm with ya early mornings with the birds are so peaceful then the neighborhood begins to wake people heading off to work kids heading to school trash trucks with the brake noise and the smashing of the lifting arm dogs getting let out for the day barking to all their dog friends landscapers out mowing yards phone starts to ring all the can you will you would yous start coming in to fill your already full day WHEW! I wake very early about 2to3am but I have most things done around my house before most people are even up. Well dear friend you have a wonderful blessed day

Good morning Owen. I've missed a few videos this week, so I haven't had a chance to say "hello." It's been a difficult week because we had to say goodbye to one of our old doggies on Monday. He was 13. Things are returning to normal and I've had a chance to catch up on Tessie's videos. The weather up here on the shores of lake Ontario has been a little gloomy, we actually had some flurries yesterday. But the Robins are back in full force and the promise of spring is still in the air :) Today I will be trying to get our old tiller working so I can plant some corn this year. I have many raised beds, but they aren't so good for some things like corn. I'm rambling a bit here, so let me just say I hope you have a peaceful and productive day :)

@@ginawillis5956 I know you asked jump, and i'm sure we both use them for similar things but here are a few of my applications: buy meat in bulk then portion it out into vac bags for freezing (saves a ton of cash.) Freezing portions of my harvest. Storing dehydrated items either in vac bags or using the optional mason jar seeler attachment. Water proofing/protecting important documents for travel or in a bug out bag, making first aid kits or any type of kit for travel or a bug out bag, you can shrink down clothing for storage keeps it dry and saves space, when you buy rolls of bags you can make them any size you wish so you can bag long guns for storage or other items. You will be surprized how many things you will find to do with it. But just in meat alone it has paid for itself many many times over.

The best thing we can do for our selves and our families is learn basic skills. I started canning last summer. This year I habe been incorporating fermented and dehydrated food preservation.

Such a wonderful gift! I bought 20 lb of brown sugar on sale about 10 years ago and put it in a Rubbermaid container in its original bag. I moved to my homestead shortly after, and somehow the container got put back in a storage closet and forgotten. I heard somewhere that brown sugar would go bad stored that way which made me go in search of my sugar. When I found it the sugar was just as soft and wonderful as the day I bought it 10 years before, I was so happy because everyone said it would be no good. You just never know. You are truly blessed to have such a friend

Tessie you always find good bargains at the thrift store. What a wonderful surprise gift how sweet of your friend to send you all that brown sugar wow 40 pounds of it. What a blessing it is. Makes sense to vacuum seal it good tip to make a little hole to get all the air out. Your well supplied now. Your right food prices are going up rapidly. We were at the store yesterday getting a few things and I noticed prices are higher than last week. We look for items on sale all the time. Gas has gone up too last time I was at the thrift store I got a 5 gal gas can for $10 I'm going to fill it soon before the price of gas goes up it's good to have it on hand as you never know what tomorrow brings. I can't get over all that brown sugar you truly are blessed to have such good friends to send you such wonderful gifts. This is one gift that keeps giving. I remember that video you mentioned you didn't have brown sugar I was tempted to get you a bag or two If the prices were not so high. @@joyceclark8163 Good Morning that is just about what I pay here in NY for regular gas. Though I think we well get to almost $3.75 for regular in the next few weeks. Seems like when it starts to getting warmer weather the price of gas goes up. This summer we may well see $4 a gal.

I buy white sugar and black strap molasses and make brown sugar myself.
Early bird catches the worm! I don't get up as early as you tessie but normally am up around 4:30
If you open a bag and only need one of those bags of brown sugar, you can always reseal your original bag with just the one bag of brown sugar in it so it'll stay fresh. I do it all the time!😊
