To the rest that are still upset that I havn't 'moved on'. I have...in the past 5 years I havnt made a video about this dude lol. I forgave and moved on, hell I wished him the best if you stayed and watched till the end. Its more than just selling stuff I gave him, its the way he handled it.
Many people were upset for what he did and the way he treated me and my cousin while we were there on our hands and knees working hard on the setup. I just thought this was an interesting article that I couldnt pass up not sharing with my core audience, revealing Filips true colors.
Karma is a wonderful thing and im sure alot of people can now rest easy. Regardless, I hope he learns from this lesson and becomes a better person and treats people better.

I really felt the emotions you had behind the whole situation Ed. I also had second hand annoyment from what Filip did all those years ago. At least with this incident coming to light, every person who thought you were too hard on Filip was shown to be wrong. He was a lowkey douchebag the whole time. Was cool of you to forgive and let it go though, felt very cathartic haha.

However, witnessing this again validated the strange impression I got of him after viewing that initial setup makeover video. Was there anyone else who experienced it while viewing it? Wow! That sucks big time. I understand what you went through and why you have trust issues when dealing with others. I've had some similar situations like that myself. In my opinion, it was a learning lesson to watch out for and recognize people who have an ill agenda towards you.
I love your setup makeovers and they are the reason I started watching your videos. I would never be able to sell a setup I get for free. especially with that much love and thought being put into it. the sentimental value is worth more than any amount. my current pc I plan to keep for a very long time since its my first ever.

@@plusultra2058 I don’t believe the guy was in debt. And even in debt I probably wouldn’t sell it depending on how much in debt I am in. It’s not hard to stay out of deep debt that one or two paychecks can’t fix.

You can see that Filip is wearing a watch on his right hand in both pictures. Usually this would mean that he is left hand dominant, but in this case, he grabs the person with his right hand. I wear my watch on my right hand as well, and I am also right hand dominant so I know this is a normal thing. I just thought it was interesting so I should mention it

I definitely feel for you here and sorry that this has happened. It’s a horrible feeling. When I first started my Facebook group, my admins and I chipped in to buy a statue to give away to members. From memory; it cost us about $500. The winner then asked to sell it after receiving it, on our platform where they won it, and we were heart broken.
It sucks that these sorts of people exist but don’t blame yourself. You tried to do something wonderful and have continued doing so since, and changed people’s lives.

I cant imagine getting a gift like that and having it assembled and personalized and then just throwing it away. My setup has taken me a year to get it where it is and its not done yet. That stuff is very expensive. Everything from the computer and monitors to rhe desk shelving and decor is expensive and for the average person takes a long time to save up for and slowly put together and in your videos i can tell you put your heart and soul into every setup you give to people. You do a nice thing and spend your own hard earned money to do it. Philip clearly didnt appreciate it. But he got his. Karma always catches up.

Ed, you work your butt off for the community...your community and the tech creator community. Love all around in my household. I am not a man of God by anymeans, but I know how to judge someones actions and those actions were in the wrong and you have every right to feel betrayed and hurt by what happened. Yes some of those products are free from the companies but people do not get to see the other side of that pr system. You have to "shop" around and speak with all the different reps from the companies and they can sometimes be a big pain. You have gone out of your way to try truly think about how you can make an impact in that persons life. That takes real heart! Thank you for all you do and keep doing what you love. If you get down to a few subs just know I am one of them.

I can sort of relate to Ed, I built my sister her own setup during the pandemic since alot of jobs were work at home and she didn't have one for herself. I wanted to make her happy while at the same time provide opportunity for work, so every request like the theme, color, preference, use case was taken into account, considering that time, the demand for PC components were through the roof because of the lockdown so you could say that we had a hard time looking for parts and even buying them at a premium price just because she needed it so I was heartbroken after finding out that after 8 months she sold the setup on Facebook marketplace so I msg her and asked why she was selling the setup only the find out because she no longer got the money to pay her bills. In a way maybe Filip is going through something that forced him to sell the setup. Don't get me wrong I agree that what Filip's actions was wrong but I hope that the community just leave the man alone and let him live his life, we don't know what people are going through day to day so let's be kinder to each other. Then this world will truly be a better place.

I understand how you feel. All your dedication and hard work for it to be tarnished. Idk what his situation was at the time. Might’ve been he needed money quick but for the fact to just not care enough to give you a heads up or just a “hey man, I need this money for it.” Would’ve gone along way. I'm glad your cousin was looking out for you! I used to have trust issues when I was like 18 or 19 for like 5, 6 years but now, I only trust my family.
As much as I would like you to build my set-up, I don't actually have a set-up. I'm in debt, I owe around £5k but I have been watching your channel for a while, and watched at least 7-8 videos. I wanted to build a gaming PC for myself because like you said in one of your videos, "if you don't try, you won't learn. That's how you'll learn to be better" or something like that.
So yeah, once I'm done paying off my debt hopefully by April/May, I'm gonna build a gaming PC mainly using Asus. I'm not gonna say what components or which products I will use but I will let you know once I'm done building the PC, hopefully by the end of this year as I also want to save some money for myself in the future.
I really learned a lot from watching your videos as I'm actually a PS5 gamer and I don't know much about PC, obviously thanks to you and your well detailed videos, I know so much in like 2 months or so. I cannot wait to watch more of your upcoming videos and I sincerely hope you don't come across another unfortunate event because you don't deserve to be treated like that, noone does!

DUDE!!!! i live just outside denver in the county next to gilpin, i met philip personally while he did Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. he was always super rude and a very very dirty fighter. he would do things like a hammer lock but then push your arm up past hyper extension and that can tear the labrum or rotator cuff or even give you a hillsachs bone deformity. and yes he did say he was a deputy and brag about excessive force to the public, hence why he was politely asked to not come back to the gym i go to.
For me Setup wars is an inspiration and Setup Makeover is the Destination.. Love You Brother 🙏
