You are 100 percent correct about the fuel line to never use that soft green PVC tubing ,first off pvc is not made to handle fuel. You always want to use the hard white nylon fuel line. Here is another tip, if you put clear pvc tubing over the hard white nylon fuel line, it will protect the fuel line and insulate some of the noise

Can you just use the black normal fuel line for the whole thing?

@@curve5746 no but you can use the black rubber fuel line from the fuel tank to the filter and then to the fuel pump, but please don't make it to long of a run. The reason that you want to use the white hard nylon fuel line is because it doesn't expand and to eliminate air pockets.

The pump is a metering device(and pump). The heater uses a drip feed. The fuel is not sprayed into the heater. The type and length of the pipe does not make any different.

The smaller ID of the hard nylon tubing is key. Buy the Espar (Eberspacher) tubing if you can, and follow their installation instructions posted on their website for the D4 heater. This is the heater model the Chinese are copying.

Wouldn't you need 6 of the rubber connectors? 2 more on either side of the green/yellow hose from tank to filter?

You only need them on the pressure side of pump

i don`t understand as the upgraded fuel line kit is only around 2-3mm inner dimentions as cheap fuel line inner dimentions are 4mm outer 6mm surely pump would struggle using a smaller fuel return am i wrong..?thanks

Your not wrong , but your assuming that all the port openings are 4mm. The max flow will be determined by the smallest port in the fuel system. I don’t care how big the fuel line is if the injection hole is 2mm. Hope this helps. Also the flex in the cheap line waste the flow by flexing instead of allowing for flow .

My Chinese heater has 4mm od fuel lines .I am looking for a fuel filter with 4mm od ends.I am only being offered 5 or 6mm. Can you please advise where I can purchase a suitable filter.
