- I felt the Anycubic eccentric roller and belt adjustments needed a description to assist with getting them right.
I designed a belt tension tool to assist with getting the belt adjustments right, link below.

I was struggling to understand what it should "feel" like when the rollers are tightened correctly, this helped me so much!
Hey Gab
Thanks for letting me know 😊
just wanted to say a massive thank you as im new to the 3d printing world and have found it so hard to find out where im going wrong and you videos has helped my get the knowledge i need to progress thanks again
Thank you so much for letting me know the videos are useful. What is it that you like to print?
that's very helpful. Awesome! You're definitely THE Kobra Go guide here.
Thanks for the kind words Code and for letting me know you found it useful
Your videos on the Kobra Go are just gold man, thanks for all this content!!!
Thanks for the kind words and for letting me know they're useful :)
Same as Jesus. The Anycubic corporate videos left a bit to be desired and yours have genuinely helped me in figuring out some of the fiddling required to get my NEO to actually print properly. Appreciate it!@@mayhemsmiley
@ryangunning330 Thank you for the kind words and letting me know they're helping 😊
Mayhem. What a cool name.
Thanks for the precise guidelines on the Anycubic.
Your audio could do with precision setup. As your voice is distorting .The Mic output is too high. Moving the Mic further from your mouth would help. Also the background musak could be omitted.
cheers
LOL decades ago I was called Creep. I'm glad to hear the videos are useful. Thanks for the audio feedback comment. I've been working on it for newer videos and bought a proper mike with the foam cover. Audio video skills evolving with every video and comments like yours. Thank you.
Thank you ❤
YW TY for letting me know you liked it :)
Thanks a ton for this. Tightening the carrier finally fixed all of my issues. And the belt tension guide I'm using for both my Kobra and Kobra go now. Thanks for this guide.
I was ready to sell the Kobra go. It was driving me crazy with all the issues.
Thanks for letting me know it helped 🙂
@@mayhemsmiley my wife told me to give the vid a like because it helps the creator. So I decided to do one better and comment. My Kobra go was up on FB market until this. I am still selling my resin setup. Decided I don't want to deal with the chemicals.
@NinjaPossumStudios I'm the same for resin printers. I'm already messy enough lol
Amazingly described. Truly great for a complete newbie and layman like me!!
Hi Mayan, TY for letting me know it helps. :)
thank u for this video. it is a great help
Thank you x1000 for this fantastic explanation.
TY for letting me know that it helped :)
@@mayhemsmiley My pleasure. Now I just need to figure out the frame shifting issue.
Thanks so much
Thanks for letting me know it helps :)
Good video! I've dialed in my kobra neo perfectly by accident I think. The only thing that needed to be adjusted afterwards was the z-offset. My tool to tension the belt is my ear. I just pull the belt a little, let it loose to make a sound with the belt. The sound has to be like a guitar string that's very loose. The prints look almost like glass, besides for the Z-seam and the almost not visible layer lines.
Thanks, too funny I tried the guitar string idea, but I've always needed an electronic tuner to tune a guitar LOL This video about setting the z offset might be interesting too czcams.com/video/s44ZC3RfFdA/video.html
@@mayhemsmiley thanks, I do this while printing a larger 1 layer square and eyeball it. I also have a note with 2 diagonal lines to create 4 sections to write down the values. In my case there are two sections with a minimal too low setting (which you can barely see) and two which look perfect for the naked eye. But there's a difference in texture when you use your fingertip and nails to find out which one if the best setting. I found out that this was the only way to get the Z-offset perfectly dialed in on 0.020 accuracy. (I wish there was a step to do it in increments of 0.010 or lower to dial it in even more). It's more level and the Z is also better than the Bambu will ever get. There's nothing more superior than the human brain and his senses. Try this method and see if it will give you an improvement of which I think it will. It will beat the naked eye. But bare in mind that the values sometimes change after you've automatically leveled your bed again.
And for newcomers (you might have to do this several times to find the four numbers which you can choose from the next time when you're ready to adjust the Z-offset after a few weeks of continuous printing).
@@Badg0r Hi Badgor, Just an FYI I haven't run the bed leveling again since this mod and it runs really well. I still use the auto bed leveling simultaneously but with minimal z axis movement during each layer of my prints. What an awesome hobby :)
@@mayhemsmiley I'm downloading it right now to make sure my belts are as tight as well. It's always good to have a good tool at hand.
Thank you!🙏🏼
You're welcome, glad to hear it helps 😊
First I'd like to thank you for all of this. You've helped me tremendously tune in my kobra go.
I bought them when they first came out and I became so frustrated with it I had to give up.
In the last week started working on it again and after finding your videos and some other websites I have got my kobra go almost dialed in which brings me to my questions...
I've followed the directions in this video and my printer skips along the y axis if I have it as tight as you demonstrate I this video.
Now I did change out the stock belt for a higher end heavy duty gt-2 timing belt. Is it possible that this belt jig you've made won't work for other belts?
Hi Andy, thanks for the feedback and glad you're making progress. Different belt will definitely require a different adjustment. Best recommendation I can make is to run some tests while monitoring the tension. Keep us posted how you make out.
How would I know if the rollers are to tight on the y axis? It almost looks like it’s eating the rubber off.
Hi Carla
If it's damaging the rubber is too tight and you may need to replace the rollers. But if they aren't seriously damaged then ease off in small movements. With fingertip pressure you should be able to move the print head or build plate but without any slippage. Let me know if this helps
@@mayhemsmileyI can push the rollers with my fingers, but I can feel a catch at a certain point, I’m just not sure how to tell if it’s my belt or the rollers.
@carlascreations3909 You could disconnect the belt to eliminate. Are you a member of Facebook ands the anycubic kobra go group? If yes post some pics there if your rollers. I pop in there regularly and there are others who are very helpful too
@@mayhemsmiley good idea, yes I’m a member on some of those I’ll post there to thank you for the tips!
@@mayhemsmileyI took the belt off and I can still feel the catch so it is the wheels. If I loosen them will it fix it or is it to late and needs new wheels?
Sir I’m very greatful for your videos.
Quick question. I’m having a lot of issues with layer shifting. Not sure what the issue is.
I have multiple ender 3s with no issues.
Took the time to tram the bed and did the leveling on it. Am I missing something?
Thank you I appreciate the kind words. There can be a few causes, but before we go into the possibilities. Is it random when it occurs and will the shift repeat? Big or small prints when it occurs. Is the shift specifically in one direction x or y. Or is the shift always diagonal? Let me know and I'll see if I can help you work through it.
@@mayhemsmiley so I actually figured out the issue. A wire was tapping the Y end stop. Twist ties fixed it.
Got it printing at a constant 100mm/s with klipper too
@@thekidd2323 great news and awesome. Thanks for sharing the source of the issue. Happy printing :)
can i use the step thing for my eleagoo neptune 3 plus
Test it out and let me know. I think it'll get you close
