Excellent product overall. However, are there any plans to replace the Lightning to Mini-DIN cable on the PROs for a more sturdy option? As a person who has over 60 of these, I am frustrated on a daily basis by their lack of durability in an educational setting and the subsequent cost to replace them. If they were inexpensive to replace like more conventional cables, it wouldn't be an issue. Lightning to Micro-USB like on some of your other newer models (if I'm correct) would rectify the problem.

I just bought the Irig Keys and set it up with Sampletank on my I pad. I hear sound through my headphones, but there is no sound from my IPad speakers when the headphones are disconnected. So I need to plug it into a speaker in addition to my iPad?

Will you guys ever make an iRig keys with drum pads? Or drum pads at all? I know the iRig MIDI can connect will drum pads that exist but I want one that can connect directly to the iPad like the iRig keys can. Or maybe wireless drum pads that can work simultaneously with the keys. Maybe 16 pads like an Akai MPC. I don't know if this is asking too much but I really think this would be a great idea. I'd definitely get it once it's available. Thank you for listening
I am not a polished player or accomplished with MIDI. I received iRig KEYS PRO as a gift and though registered, can not figure how to get sounds. I installed SampleTank and see that the keys are being hit, but nothing comes out. I do get some sounds using Cakewalk, but that program is ridiculously hard for someone new as myself.
It would be nice to have some instructional videos for the absolute newbie that go into detail in how to actually use this.
I am using Windows 7 with an iCore 5 and 32 GB RAM. Any help would be very much appreciated.

You can set the Background Audio setting to "ON" but note that some other apps will take over the audio stream regardless.
I would have bought this instead of the iKeys had I known it was in development.

If you have a MIDI interface and controller you can use Core MIDI apps like ours. You can also simply use iRig KEYS family to plug directly into your iOS device or Mac/PC

AMP Videos You can only use the amount of keys on the MIDI controller and then change the octaves. The keyboard clearly doesn't have 88 keys, though.

What's the best sustain pedal for the irig keys? I have an On Stage Universal Sustain Pedal but doesn't work well with my irig keys. Thanks!

I personally think the Roland DP-2 sustain pedal is the way to go. It's really cheap and works perfect. It is also made of strong material, so it won't break that easy.
Tim Wolber I had a DP-2 and just stopped working one day. I replaced it with a DP-10 and never looked back. It may not be as portable but you don't need to velcro the thing to the carpet!

When you press the key slowly it sound low.
Sounds like you are describing velocity more than sustain and yes both the hardware and our apps will respond to velocity.

Can you plug into a p.a. system for a compact live keyboard?
iRig Keys PRO does not create any audio as it is a MIDI controller. You'd need to output from your iOS device or audio interface for sound to go to your PA system.
