      It really just depends which part of the song you're talking about. I know how to play the entire song. the intro is pretty easy and a lot of fun actually, the verses are even easier as long as you can hit a hammer-on without moving any of your other fingers. but as soon as you start getting into the solo it starts to get very technical, Slash used a lot of bends, pull-offs hammer-ons, slides even a light sweep pick and blended it all together perfectly. One little mistake can really throw it off. It's not the hardest solo for sure but definitely isn't easy either. all together I would say you need to be an average-pro guitar player before playing it.

    It makes me feel so good to hear a great guitarist say that he really didn't like the song even though he wrote the main riff, sometimes a song just doesn't go where you expect it too when you come up with that first good riff. Sometimes I will have a part that I think is killer but after putting it to live drums it takes the song in a different direction, its up to you as the song writer to use that and build upon it, I just can't believe sweet child of mine was that song in his mind.

    I've always been trying to play this lick with my pinky & it's been almost impossible for years. I could never get the Tempo or keep the fretboard quiet the way I was trying to do it with the added pinky doing the majority of the work. Now seeing u play it, it makes sense as to why I could never get it correctly. I had a friend & when we were kids, he could play it with no problem, but sadly he took his life & ever since then I have always tried to practice it. Hoping that 1 day I would get it down. Now seeing you actually do it. It looks like it will be so much easier now that I won't be trying to add the pinky. Thanks man. Hopefully my friend will finally be able to look down & see me not butcher ur intro, sooner than later. God bless. And if anyone is reading this & thinking about taking your own life or someone else's, Please don't man. Just pick up a guitar & play out what your feeling man. I've beaten my guitar over the years when I'm feeling bad. My Guitar has helped me work thru so many good & completely horrible situations. Just pick up an instrument, any instrument man. Please Play.

    Slash is really an underrated guitarist. He is no where near Eddie Van Halen, although Eddie is, in my opinion, the only guitarist that is worthy of being compared to Hendrix. Slash is a great guitarist that doesn't necessarily showcase his full capability in songs. Slash knows how to take a backseat to really demonstrate his band mates' skill, like Duff. Slash is a fantastic guitarist that is ageless. His solo albums really demonstrate how he can take a back seat to showcase the band but at the same time be so prominent. He is a fantastic guitarist, he just doesn't have the same playing style as Eddie Van Halen, Eric Clapton, or Stevie Ray Vaughn where the guitar almost over powers the song. With that being said, I'm not talking shit about any of those guys, they are amazing guitarists. It's just Slash has a somewhat different playing style which leads people to believe he is not as great of a guitarist as he really is. Don't believe me? Look up "Hold On" off his solo album, really demonstrates and reiterates what I'm talking about. Slash is easily a top 10 guitarist.

He blew Everyone away, and had folks like Clapton, Beck, The Beatles and many, many others in awe of his talent.
      I feel blessed to have been around when Eddie Van Halen came out with his first album. I can only imagine what it was like to hear Hendrix in the 60's.

    For everyone say sweet child o mine is easy.... I know how to play the entire song. The intro is pretty easy and a lot of fun actually. The verses are even easier as long as you can hit a hammer-on without moving any of your other fingers. As soon as you start getting into the solo it starts to get very technical, Slash used a lot of bends, pull-offs hammer-ons, slides even a light sweep pick and blended it all together perfectly. One little mistake can really throw it off. It's not the hardest solo for sure but definitely isn't easy either. all together I would say you need to be an average-pro guitar player before playing it.

    • @rahamitv5959
      @rahamitv5959 Před 5 lety

      Yes, i agree, solo part is very technically, u cant even be the same As slash pick the tone he has made in this solo section.

      Just to think about it it was composed by one guy..Also its not really that "difficult" I consider myself a low level medium player and I can play it, but its only because of all the times I had to practice

    • @Suzumebachigr
      @Suzumebachigr Před 5 lety

      @@vlad.the.impaler. well i mean...i play it too...but can you REPLICATE it as close as you can? ONLY THEN you will see it has so many details that make it even more difficult...playing the notes is one thing....expressing them as Slash does on the recording.....another story.THAT'S what people dont get...
      Most of the covers i see , they bend 4 times at one specific point of the solo while Slash does 5 bends squished on perfect timing....he bends and vibrato-es, 1 1/2 bend at the end....all those things are important...one does not simply play the notes and claims he can play it.

    His auto biography, he says he was sitting with Izzy and started just playing anything he liked to practice the Mixolydia scale then Izzy says play that again so he did. What he played was the intro to Sweet Child' then Duff came in with bass and Steven put a drum beat in there, Axl was in his room he never came out that night he must have heard us and wrote lyrics down. That's not exactly what it says but roughly i think he just changes the story slightly because he can't remember it well.
