I loved him at Utd, got unfair criticism due to unreachable high expectations when he came to us. Plus he was played out of position a lot during his time here, just behind Van Nistelrooy, when his best displays was as a box to box player of a deep lying playmaker.
He could play a long ball and put backspin on it like he was playing a wedge golf shot. Utter class

Pese a que desarrolló una fenomenal carrera por su calidad técnica, Verón nació 10 años antes de tiempo. Durante su apogeo entre 1996 y 2006, aún no se entendía muy bien en el fútbol que era eso del "centrocampista mixto", y por eso a Verón lo consideraban un "10 clásico" (Argentina de Bielsa 1999-2002) o en su defecto un centrocampista por banda derecha. En ambos casos se equivocaban. Hoy Verón sería más valorado aún de lo que fue en su tiempo.
El mejor mixto de la historia del fútbol, ninguno más completo que el...mi jugador favorito, veía un partido solo por verlo jugar .

It was a good choice but wrong club, wrong timing. Fergie bought him when there were already other mids who had already gelled for more than a decade. Fergie couldn't bear letting him stay on the bench, so sold him so he could get game time, fair enough but he didnt foresee Keane injury.

Para mi el jugador más completo de no solo de aca de Argentina sino del mundo y de todos los tiempos. Armador de juego recuperador gran pase corto y mejor pase largo gran pateador de centros y a echo goles olímpicos definía exelente contra el poste suavemente y te pateaba de fuera del área con la misma exquisitez gran cabeceador .se tiraba en la defensa en los centros y era un pitbull.
