Riquelme played like Zidane, but with that south american spice that Europeans can't reproduce. One of the best ever.
I think that Zizou had It, that spice. Probably Roman and the french maestro has been the best fantasists of their period.
Genius footballer. Elegance, vision, flair, balance etc. One of my favourite players of all time, joy to watch and he was one of the greatest playmakers of all time, the passing was sublime. Sadly, it did not work out in barca thanks to LVG playing him as a winger. At Villarreal, he was amazing and was contender for world best player during that period.

My generation had the honor to see at the same time, sometimes in the same pitch, Riquelme and Alex. Two of the most intelligent and creative players of all time. Legends!
Riquelme was a player that needed to feel comfortable at a club to show how amazing he was. It was important to him to have a coach that gave him freedom on the pitch. A bit similar to Roberto Baggio who had this aswell.
Some players are more "sensitive" they need to feel good to shine.

@@cesarurbani2294 Great technically isnt he ?! he played for Australia's national futsal team as a teenager, then only started outdoor football at 17. Then won the Nike Chance competition at 18 and went straight into our national competition and dominated. Very unique footballer, even more so for an Australian player. He lacks in physical aspects though, is slow, cant last more than 60 mins and is injured a lot. Techical ability is as good as anyone in the world though and i really mean anyone bar probably messi.

Pior foi os gambá, que nunca foi de chegar em libertadores, ai qdo pegou uma fase boa, pegou o Riquelme com 90 anos e mesmo assim ele empurrou os gamba na ladeira.

@@deluca111 pois é, no ano que foram campeões, o zagueiro lider da zaga Schavi tinha 40 anos, dava até dó de ver o cara correndo, deveria estar mto endividado e tava fazendo hora extra. No ano seguinte o Riquelme já fazendo plano funerário, foi lá e meteu uma caixa do meio da rua pela lateral. Se pega o cara em 2000 a 2003 iria passar perrengue.

Nice job man, ur editing really showed Roman's prowess, yes he had a lot of those curled freekicks. Most of GK stood still. Oh, he was elegant yet simple no 10, does everything, deadball, sharp shooting, dribbler and a good finisher. He thrives during Aimar time, and i was a big fan of Aimar. But more over, he plays for Boca Juniors. Why didnt english team fight for him early on before Sevilla make him their legend. I'd say Ramon is p3rfect than Veron at that time of Euro football. Those times was an absolute continues legends and good human being.
