A how to instruction video on how to remove and replace the airbag cover on airbags found on Audi B9, Q2, 8V2 cars. ( The method is identical for the trapezoid airbag models found on B9, and Q7, Q8 4M cars)

You can use a ziptie around the tabs to make them snug and fit the cover half inside and cut the ziptie after

Great video, thank you very much. Just one question, are these leather replacement air bag covers tested to ensure that the air bag deploys/behaves the same as with the OEM cover? (i.e. same speed, with no parts (logo, etc.) becoming projectiles that might cause injuries in the case of deployment.)

I am wondering the same thing, I bought one of these and the cover itself seems to be non-original (does not look as cleanly manufactured as the original) plus the leather on top.. Would ne interestint to know if the covers were tested.

Does it require a computer reset after installation mate ? I’ve got a garage telling me if I do it they’ll charge me for computer reset etc ?

Depends on the car, for older models as long as the car is not switched on when the airbag is unplugged, there will be no error code.
For newer models the error code will appear. Use OBD11 to clear the error code. Buying it is probably as expensive as getting the garage to clear the code.
