  • In this powerful clip from TopGun, we witness a pivotal ending scene that encapsulates the essence of true leadership. Maverick, the legendary pilot, crosses paths with Goose's son, reminding us that leadership is not just about the skies, but about mentorship, legacy, and making tough decisions. As Maverick imparts his wisdom and guidance, we're reminded that the torch of leadership is passed on through shared experiences, resilience, and the commitment to shape the next generation.

I liked Maverick's nod to the Vice Admiral. Job done, no casualties ... well, except for a couple of multi million dollar aircraft. But he returned with a museum repair - though that may take a bit of restoration and might be better just scrapped.

I am afraid that there's nothing to be cheerful about - they've blocked the whole flight deck on that carrier 💁

Yes, one of the reality fails of both films, and there are a few of them (though as a 30 year Naval Aviation Vet I loved both movies). The threat wasn't over yet, and with the flight deck fouled the ship is not combat ready. In real life the deck would have been cleared, remain at GQ until the Captain says things are okay... then celebrate. That said, you do kinda have to love this ending.
