- Todays video is all about finding and catching summer crappies on flowages. Today we are on the Chippewa Flowage in northern Wisconsin and we are looking for deepwater midsummer crappies for a fish fry. Crappie fishing can be challenging in any lake during the mid summer months. Flowages have a ton of structure and this can further complicate the process. I give tips on the 3 locations in which I look for when searching out crappies during the warm weather months. I also talk about the lures and presentation I use to catch them. Thanks for watching!

I enjoyed the crappie video. I would appreciate more of them!
I hope everyone supports this guy! He shares all of his info day in day out with us he’s improved my fishing 10 fold! mad respect for this guy!
Instablaster.
Love watching your shows sooooo informational crappie is my favorite then walleye love your tips thank you
Always fun and informative. You should have shown your secret to frying up boneless crappie with some crayfish boil. We did that in Minnesota and was fun catching the crayfish and added a nice mix to the walleye. Keep getting hooked up.
Love the crappie vid!!
Love the video Tom. I like the walleye but we don't have them around me. So I appreciate the Crappie videos.
Nice video
Great job, i like all your videos 👍👍
Oh man ..I was hoping to see how you filet those crappie.. maybe next time? Good video. That's fun fishing right there! You're getting me excited for next year with the new boat. 👍
I have fished the Flowage for 40 years and it used to be awesome for crappies but has went down considerably in the last several years
Tom thank you so much for all your video's! I
Thanks for watching
Those bobbers are sold out everywhere!
Very good video. First time seeing it. I’m a pan fishermen and pike
Midsummer crappie on lakes would be cool.
I do like the crappie content.
Fish Egg rolls 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Defiantly more crappie videos
When I catch summer crappies I put them on ice to firm up before filleting.
Yes please more crappie videos. I have a suggestion and you know what it is....bluegills...yep! Would love to see you two search for some big gills ya gotta have them up in that wonderful area you fish.
Crappie do not bite during the summer in the south • it's gets like 90 degrees +
I can't wait till the fall comes in
I think you have better luck tom when shelby's in the boat.
I will keep watching if Shelby stays in the boat! Great to see women enjoy themselves fishing.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoy your videos!! Keep up the great work
Love the change of species. I’m typically a bass and walleye fisherman and just recently started targeting crappie. Great content and keep up the great messages.
You should sell hoodies 👍
I always love Shelby’s reaction! She is always so happy to just catch fish!
Like so many of the others have already said: mixing it up with a crappie bite info is always a good idea!
You should trademark the statement "Hooked-up!" and put it on a shirt ....and hoodie......and hat......etc......
That's a great idea because Tom is the first ever to say hooked up and he came up with that common phrase so he should take ownership of it. Derp Derp Derp
I’m a walleye snob but still watched the video because it’s a great information channel, thanks
When you live in our neck of the woods it's sometimes just great to see you out catching fish no matter the species. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing.
Great Channel - Subbed ya
Mark Blitz.... I left Chicago area in 97 and now live in Sawyer County, you won't regret leaving.
Tom....your vids are great, I have learned a lot from you. The multi species vids are really informative too. I am mostly a musky fisherman but since watching your vids am swinging back towards walleyes.
Enjoyed the multi species video!
I would support a “hooked up” or “bobber down” shirt too!
Any and all types of videos from Tom Boley are awesome,,,,! ( cooking, catching, camping,!!!!)
What a great video. This is certainly Shelby's favorite species. Watch her smile as she hooks up. And I'm getting a shirt. Awesome
Fun watching you guys get in to the crappie good time
Love the Cappie video and just had to order the shirt as a way to say thank you for the content your putting out!
Thanks alot!
Love the crappie fishing. So informative and helpful. Keep up the great video. Keep doing more multispecie video.
That wasn't a bad days of fishing Tom , glad you guys had a great time and thanks for the tips , Chelsie, Tom stay safe..
Still my go to crappie vid to get refreshed. “Crappie Now”
I love Shelby
I enjoy the multi species content. Walleye will always be my fav, but they don’t always cooperate. Sometimes you fish for what you want, sometimes it’s more productive to fish for what is biting.
Love your videos. You give practical information for us fisherman to help us catch more fish. Keep the walleye crappie, any other fish videos coming. Thanks
Hands down you have the best fishing videos on CZcams. Keep the panfish videos coming!
My fave fishing is walleyes, then its crappies, so you're right on point, keep them coming 👍👍👍
T shirts great idea, you could put some of you're famous
Tomisms in quotes on the back," hooked up" "see ya later buddy", "that was awkward" etc.
I'll preorder. hooked Up T.
Yep! Great idea! Do that Tom!
Fishing deep crappies is my favorite thing to do and I've spent a ton of time on the Flowage. But I don't seem find big ones. I recently started smallie fishing Hayward's big clear lakes so I enjoy your other videos a ton and have a lot to learn.
What's going on is I enjoyed the crappie fishing lesson. I rarely fish walleyes and so enjoy videos on other species. A lesson on summer crappies in natural lakes would be great too. Thank you Tom.
Live in Southeast WI/IL border and really enjoy watching the multi species videos we don’t have much for walleye down here witch made me a bass guy and normally I used to only go after panfish through ice only and grab the bass rods out in spring but this year after watching you videos for some reason I I’ve been way more excited to catch crappie open water then ever before. However I’m finding out that our small, pressured, shallow, weedy lakes seem to make me work much harder here for a bite then you northerners or I just suck! Thanks for the content!
Just ordered shirt!!!! Thanks for all the videos
Another great video!!! Would like to see a show on location of summer perch.
Big Boley fan!! Thanks for all the awesome content, we will love our new shirts!
Tom, we enjoy all the videos. No matter what the topic. PLEASE keep making them!
T shirt Ordered. Its well worth the it for all the information you help us with. Thanks Tom!!
Love the big chippewa! The turtle up by springstead is another great boddy of water
Love the crappie video!!! Can't always hammer the Eyes!!! Still walking around work saying, "fish on, hooked up!!"
Enjoyed the summer crappie video. Heading to the Chippewa Flowage in a few weeks. Thanks for the rig tips and advice!
Love your videos...you’ve taught me a lot about walleye fishing! Keep it coming! Thanks a million!!
Hey Tom, this is a great break from the walleye content (even though I love that too) - and I would like to see more of it. Looking forward to summer smallmouth vids. Cheers!
Thanks Tom. Excellent content.
Retired bricklayer and I need to get outta Chicagoland. Sell the house and going to Vilas Co., maybe Oneida.
You wont regret it
Please dont vote like an idiot from Illinois
Love fishing for crappie, great video. I enjoyed the fish taco video, maybe you can do one on how you guys do a fish fry.
U 3 are the best. Thank you
Great video Tom, I enjoy the multi species videos!
What does one do with that many rod holders?
Definitely enjoy the crappie vids from time to time. Good stuff.
Hey Tom, you are a well versed angler. Do you ever try the mid summer trolling for Crappie? It can be killer. Using your electronics to locate the school of fish. Then use micro cranks to pick apart the school of fish. I use a 7ft UL with 4 LB mono and a 2LB lead line and small crankbaits. Talk about fun. Give it a try and let Shelby enjoy fighting a slab on 2lb test.
Awesome jobs yall you videos really help when I'm out on my waters looking around
Love the crappie videos!! Thanks
Tom great guy to let you guy know info how get them. Keep good work tom
9 inches legal legal length.
I catch crappie with just a split shot sinker, 4/O worm hook, nighcrawlers, and a snap on bobber
I'm with Shelby on this one, I love a good feeding of crappie. I wish I could find them as easily as you do, I troll around until I catch one then pin point the area
Great crappie video will try this next time out. Please keep them coming
Keep it up guys always alot of good knowledge in your videos. Would love to get me some Elliot supplies when the bank alows it! If u ever get on lake nokomis make sure to film. Happy fishing and I will stay tuned!
It's nice to see some panfish content too, I think a large portion of anglers in the upper Midwest are walleye focused primarily but would deviate from WE's in a heart beat if they ran over a pod of fish like that especially mid day mid summer. Good to see you guys having fun and showcasing what northern WI has to offer!
Appreciate the break from walleyes. Keep the crappie video coming! looking forward to receiving the shirt
Love fishing and eating crappy, great informative videos. Keep up the great work.
You always suggest heavy sinkers, but everything I've heard in the past seemed to be use the lightest sinker and terminal tackle you can so the fish don't feel resistance. Can you go into more depth on this topic? Love your videos!!!
With the Thill wobble bobbers, they are rated for a certain weight. Say if you are using a 3/8 bobber, it'll float with 3/8 under it. So if you use a 1/4 sliding weight and a 1/8 jig, any more weight will sink the bobber with almost no resistence.
@@jyakes1394 thank you
Why not run rod trees instead of 8 individual rod holders?
Good question
Good video I learned a lot thanks
I like it ! Change is good sometimes. I think you need to bring back the new lake challenge showing how you break down a lake
Love the multi species videos, especially crappies. Keep them coming.
Great video! I love the walleye videos but more stuff like this would be cool too. Multi species on the chip.
Hey Tom. Would love to see a Summer Time Flowage Smallmouth video! Keep up the great work!
Another awesome video ! keep it going , good job !
Big fan!!!!! Love walleye fishing but crappies rock also a few crappie videos once in awhile would be awesome as well.

Was just out on the Willow Reservoir this past week. Walleye were hitting on slips. Perch mixed in. Fished humps in 20ft if water, super fun. Nice video.
Minnesota! Atta girl!
Love the multi- species fishing. Also like to know water temps and real time weather when you are fishing. Do want a shirt but can’t afford now. “Fish On”
Tom love your videos if I’m not fishing I watching your videos.. Elliot rods are always not in stock I gave up on them I’ll just stick to my loomis anyways great video again
Let’s see a trifecta video ! walleye -bass -musky/northern pike same like same day!
That would be a cool video.
Yah Shelby!! Way to rep the MN!!!!
WTF, I thought you were pulling a ring at the end!
Hahaha , so did I ... But definitely getting that shirt !!
Another good video Tom! A nice change of pace doing a crappie video. Crappies on a natural lake would be great too.
Awesome video and informative as usual!
