This was Dimash's Digital Show done during the pandemic.
He is not an ''opera'' singer....he sings everything from opera, to pop, to classical, to jazz, to blues, to rock, to rap, to folk, & everything in between. He often mixes styles within the same song.
He is totally independent, & will sign no contracts with anyone. He wants to sing what he wants to, how he wants to, when he wants to, & why he wants to. He's very into everything he does from his songs to production.
He writes, composes, plays several instruments, has 7.7 octaves, acts, models, & has several university degrees in music.
Born May 1994, 6ft 3in. tall, lives with his family in Kazakh tradition, is kind, polite, respectful, & doesn't have the ''star ego''.

Congratulations, you just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He is a twenty-nine year old multi-faceted artist with a soul of a thousand years, who hails from Kazakhstan. He sings in 16 different languages (speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, some English, and a little Mandarin), plays 8 musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in musicology (has a Masters in composition). He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 7 octave range, has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble and kind man. His mother is an opera singer and his father is a singer and producer. He sings every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend "Sinful Passion" 2018, "Stranger" 2021,"Olimpico" 2019 link on Igor Krutoy's (composer that came out of retirement to work with Dimash) CZcams channel, "Adagio" from The Singer 2017, "Ikanaide" 2021 Tokyo Jazz Festival, and "Ave Maria" 2021 at New Wave. After digesting those performances, I can't stress enough my recommendation for one of his most recent songs and music video (mini movie) the artistic masterpiece "The Story of One Sky" that he wrote the screenplay for and spent 3 years composing the music for, which displays a lot of his range (not all) and soooo many vocal techniques and dynamics, including sub harmonics, whistle register, bass, tenor, baritone, classical, jazz, pop, rock and unreal metal screams....and unbelievable dramatic acting. Each performance will leave you stunned. Thank you for reacting to our Dimash from a loyal "Dear" (fandom name given to us by Dimash, because we are dear to him like his family). He has fan clubs in 132 countries.

I just love it when the first song anyone hears from Dimash is SOS. "OMG, the range. How can he go so high?" They always think their mind's been blown.
THEN they discover 'Ave Maria', 'Stranger', 'Olympico', 'Hello', and the unbelievably amazing 'Unforgettable Day - Gakku performance. To name just a couple of drops in the vast ocean that is Dimash. He's done opera, jazz, funk, rap, Celine Dion, Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, Vitas, and even the Diva Dance song from the movie 5th Element. And as if that's not enough, his own epic song/video/movie 'The Story of One Sky'.

Dimash is a genre defying artist who went through Bel Canto training but decided to move to contemporary music to have more freedom with what he wanted to sing and compose.
Dimash's concerts and he will go through almost every genre of music including pop, rock and he's just written a blues number that's absolutely amazing. And he does all that in multiple languages.
Dimash is on another level completely. I don't normally listen to this kind of music, but I can't go a day without listening to Dimash. He has all kinds of songs, not just opera.
Dimash is an artist of extra class, with a voice of more than 7 octaves and in each of them he is great, he sings in 15 languages. A unique person and an example of how you can unite people around you on the basis of art, kindness, respect and peace!

Dimash can not be held to one genre he mixes genres into his music, also folk vocal techniques from his part of the world. You were listening to someone who has been training his voice from age five, to date. This has been his life long dream. Dimash has 7 octaves. I hope you enjoy more of his work.

Dimash is classically trained. He can sing opera but doesn't restrict his musical capabilities to opera. He also incorporates a few genres into one song and does it seamlessly. If you think he sounds like an angel here, wait until you hear him sing Ave Maria. No one and nothing is perfect, but, Dimash is as close to perfect as any human can get. I am not talking only about his music, but who he is as a person. SOS is a cover of a French rock opera, Starmania, written 16 years before Dimash was born, but it has become Dimash's signature song. I never get tired of hearing it. Actually, I never tire of anything Dimash sings. My favorites are Your Love, Love Is Like A Dream, Sinful Passion, Olympico, Ikanaide, All By Myself, and ADAGIO. All caps because it is just so, so good. I know everyone will suggest you react to "Unforgettable Day ---Gakku because of him hitting that D8 note, but, my favorite version is when he sang it on "The Singer 2017." Could you react to both and give your opinion? On The Singer, he really gets into it on stage and the background singers and orchestra make it epic. He wrote that song when he was 19. Yes, he was classically trained (mom is an opera singer) and he was offered a position w/ Asana Opera when he graduated. He refused it to pursue a career in cross-over. This concert was from the first winter of the pandemic shut down. Since he couldn't tour, he came straight to his fans and sold tickets to us directly.
His voice is gorgeous, but his technique and ability to sing a note exactly as he wants to in order to achieve his goals - next level. Technically, he's a monster.

Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And this in all registers (chest, mixed and head voice up to the whistle register). The transitions from one register to the other are so fluid that they are sometimes not recognized even by vocal coaches or professional singers.
His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of daily hard training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. And at his concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan on September 23, 2022 he sang in 7 languages in one concert! And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 16 or 17 languages so far).
He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how.
Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this.
His concert in September 23, 2022 in Almaty, Kazakhstan was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄.
He sang this song on his digital concert in January 2021 during the pandemic. He had to cancel his tour and did this concert for his Dears/fans. That’s why there was no audiende to be seen or heard.
SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione.
SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time.

The man who often plays the kobys in Dimash’s performances is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. Stranger is one of my absolute favorite songs. I get goosebumps every time I hear it.

He was trained in Opera & offered a place in Astana Opera House, but he had already decided he wanted to go down the neo-classic/crossover road. He really is a once-in-a-lifetime artist. He has a 7.2 octave range & sings all genres of music from Opera to pop & everything inbetween, he even raps!! He sings in 14 languages, including English. He does not only sing Opera. So kind, so humble. Never EVER drinks, smokes, takes drugs or parties - he is 100% devoted to his music since the age of 5. ALL this guy wants is music and to touch the world thru his music. he donates huge sums to important causes. He never shows off his home or cars. Btw, his name’s pronounced with a slightly longer ‘aahh’ sound: not ‘mash’ as in mashed potatoes, but ‘maahsh’ as in ‘marsh’ (for a person with our English accent!)
