Not one of his more technical solos but easily one of his best and tasteful
Hackett rarely got super technical while with Genesis, he always seemed to downplay his skills while with that band. If you listen to some of his solo material from the 70s, he was clearly capable of Howe/Fripp levels of technicality, but he always seemed to be purposely holding back on Genesis records. Probably didn't have much room to go wild with Banks being so dominant within the band.
Tonally this is a very technical solo!

Your fingers are hypnotizing to watch. I tried to learn this solo. It's simple in some ways, but if you don't play it just right, you lose the magic. You made it beautiful, heavenly.

It revolves around cannibalism, death, and decay plus reptilian female sirens. I myself would think it to be more beguiling and mesmerising with it's incredibly beautiful melody - probably one of Hackett and Genesis' finest.
Also the line ''Silent sorrow in empty boats'' really hits me every time I hear it.

And you got to meet the maestro at the BIG BIG TRAIN gig at Cadogan Hall so if anyone asks if you have seen him play you can say: “Well actually he saw me …”
