An Stelle eines Orchestertuttis beginnt das Konzert mit dem fast sofortigen Einstieg der Solovioline. Es spielt genau die Melodie in e-Moll, die Mendelssohn keinen Frieden gab. Nachdem das Orchester eine Bravura von rasch aufsteigenden Tönen hinter sich gelassen hat, wird das Anfangsthema wiedergegeben. Dann gibt es eine frenetische chromatische Übergangspassage, während die Musik nachlässt und zu einem ruhigen zweiten Unterthema in G-Dur moduliert. Die Melodie wird zunächst von den Holzbläsern gespielt, wobei der Solist eine Pedalnote auf einer offenen G-Saite bereitstellt. Das Stück wird von der Solovioline selbst gespielt, bevor eine kurze Codetta den Expositionsteil des Eröffnungssatzes beendet. Die beiden Anfangsthemen werden dann in der Entwicklungsabteilung zusammengefasst, wo sich die Musik zu der innovativen Kadenz aufbaut, die Mendelssohn in vollem Umfang geschrieben hat, anstatt dem Solisten Improvisation zu erlauben. Die Kadenz beschleunigt sich durch rhythmische Verschiebungen von Quavern zu Quaver-Drillingen und schließlich zu Semiquavern, bei denen der Solist eine Ricochet-Biegung benötigt. Dies dient als Verbindung zur Reprise, bei der die Eröffnungsmelodie vom Orchester gespielt wird, begleitet von den fortgesetzten Ricochet-Arpeggios des Solisten. Während der Reprise werden die Anfangsthemen wiederholt, wobei das zweite Thema in E-Dur gespielt wird, bevor es zum Schluss des Satzes nach E-Moll geht. Die Musik sammelt Geschwindigkeit in der Coda, die mit "Presto" markiert ist, bevor eine Variante des ursprünglichen chromatischen Übergangspassages den ersten Satz beendet.
Noah ist wieder wie gewohnt verblüffend. Ania ist auch sehr detailliert und virtuos. Brillant.

I don't have a definitive conclusion why her presentation sounds damped. The simplest explanation would be her instrument itself is more limited. The second is possibly her general inexperience. Third is the missings in particular interpretation (that is why she is on masterclass , and nicely advances anyway). Maybe all three limitations are here.
