I am an old Canadian (Québec), born and raised on a farm in the 1940s. As kids we could identify all the tractors and cars of the area. That includes most of those you work on. These old but beautiful tractors are vintage stock but let me tell you that I have never seen such a modern and handsome young woman, mechanical expert, showing and explaining the way you do. That is why many people with no direct connection to farm works or implements, such as me, watch your mechanic courses. The University or Superior School you attended should seriously consider to award you a ''Doctorate Tractoris Causa"". Bravo, well done. In Québec we would say ''Chapeau Madame Rachel''.

You go girlfriend!! My father had me take over the family automotive repair business 45 years ago and I've done over 100 clutch jobs in the the automotive field myself. But splitting a tractor is territory I have never been in. I just bought a Ford 800 and this is all new to me and kind of intimidating. So I watched your video and you made it so simple. I have to compliment you on not missing a trick and giving a complete explainating of the job you're doing. It's so refreshing to see another woman do "our" work and thank you for your video's. I so appreciate it and compliment you for getting in there and doing the job.

What makes ALL of Rachel's tutorials great is her thorough knowledge and the confidence that she exudes about the tractor and why you need to do whatever it is she is attempting to teach or instruct about. She has a great talent and actually she could represent any mechanical product and I hope that she does branch out and move forward with a great series and a great informational video. Each clip has improved over earlier videos...great job of editing too.

I am awed by the way you present yourself...a person would have to be totally ignorant not to be able to make the repair or replacement...I did not witness any hesitation at any point in your presentations...Unlike some other "shows", where the presenters are monkeying around throwing stuff, trying to be comical...pure antics on their part...you show a genuine demeanor...with your presentation, a person would not even have to know the difference between a wrench or a socket to be able to do the job...keep them coming...although my career was in education having served as a teacher, principal, superintendent of schools and an instructor with the University of Texas System, I have a mechanical background as well as having been a mechanic in the US Airforce with experience on B36, B52, B25, B26, and other aircraft which gives me sheer pleasure watching your presentations...final note before I wind up writing another dissertation: my dad owned a 9n, so that made your presentation even more pleasurable...

Not afraid to get her hands dirty, not worried about her pants, but still manages to keep her face and shirt prestine clean. Reminds me of my wife. You should do a video on the hydraulic pump my dads golden jubilee's three point never worked all the years we farmed he had it in at a ford dealer three times and they could never figure out why the three point wouldn't lift, he had the engine rebuilt once because the engine oil level was always down and after the rebuild it was still the same. After completing automotive and diesel tech I knew exactly what it was. Between the housing that mounts to the engine and hydraulic pump are two seals face to face they were completely shot I replaced them and the three point works now. What was happening is the hydraulic pump was trying to suck up oil but because the seals were out it couldn't create enough suction however it was sucking oil from the engine and pumping it into the transmission causing that to always be over full. So three point works engine does not use oil transmission stays at the correct level everything is now correct.

40 years ago I ran a workshop where we looked after quite a few of these Fords. Even then they were only around 10 years old but the three point would give problems as you describe. We figured it out when driving up a steep hill, the three point suddenly lifted as those seals were then submerged . We did the seals and it was fixed. it had even fooled the Ford Engineers . Without the three point it makes a very useless tractor.. :-)

Oh the tractor runs Great now. Did other work as well.
On the old pressure plate the pins came loose on one pressure arm and one was backed out some.

Not sure what you tried for breaking the rusted clutch loose, but something we did with an old MGB. We jacked the axle off the ground. Started it up in 4th gear, pushed the clutch in and then pushed it off the jacks. A short chirp from the wheels and it broke loose easily. Never had an issue with the clutch after that.

The first major repair I ever did to a tractor was on a Ford 601 about 25 years ago that had a rusted frozen clutch. Everything went fine (albeit much much slower than here) until I went to put it back together and got about a quarter inch of my thumb between the two halves coming together. When a 1000 pounds of steel are in motion....no matter how slowly....the thumb loses. I've done lots of painful things in my life, but that was the most painful night I can remember.

I just said the video was an intro to a porno. Much easier than trying to explain, and the wife saying "why do you lie to me".

So many steps. Seems like a good idea to film yourself taking things apart just to make sure you know they go back together.

we never used or had a "line up tool" .....good eyes did it :-) but ilike like to see my work back in the 80´s done by a nice girl alone. Fords were always easy to repair. For this we need mostly 3 - 4 hours. greetings from germany filling the hydraulic pump was important, yes because it was a piston pump whereas our Bosch pumps in german tractors were gearpumps.

Could have done with this information years ago replacing the clutch on a 3 speed MF 2037 industrial tractor. It was a very early model backhoe with 3pl and Twin plate clutch. I tried my best but still reassembled wrong ruining the PTO shaft clutch. Very informative Rachel Thanks
