Limerick are the best team i've seen. Even better than Kilkenny 2006 - 2009. They are so far ahead of the rest it's frightening. I'm not sure the pick of the other four Munster teams would even beat them. If they keep their feet on the ground, have no major injuries and remain hungry for success it's hard to see them not winning two of the next three All Ireland's. I love watching this team. No weak links. Simply the best.

Once again a great show shane and Michael. Limericks win on Sunday was incredible. There pace skill and strength running off the ball hard work and there being comfortable on the ball. That to me is the only way you can beat them. Match them with all those attributes. Every year the All Ireland winners there season changes on one moment or in a game which both shane and verney have said already. Limericks season changed in the second half of the Munster Final. Tipp made Limerick look very poor in the first half. In the second half every ball they touched turned to gold like the All Ireland. The oppositon need to be spoken about. Alot was expected of cork however there gameplan was well shut down. There defense was very poor and there full back line was cruelly exposed. Nobody wants to see a one sided all Ireland. The last best All Ireland was Tipp vs Kilkenny in 2014 drawn game. One would wonder how will this loss affect Cork. Cork are coming strong with minor and under 20 success but sometimes this does not go through to senior. Another thing I may add is that there is no such thing as a soft All Ireland. Finally which are you better off to be beaten by 1 point or by 20 in an All Ireland?. All in all a very good hurling year better than last year.

You mentioned Cork should have gone defensive. Cork think they can beat anyone on any day. And the truth is they can't. While that belief is great in ways, it's also holding them back. Accepting the need to go defensive, because the other team is dominant, is so against the grain for them.

Looking at the Sunday Game team of the year. I have always hated 'token All-Stars', I know they're not All-Stars but they are never too far out either.
Eoin Murphy I'd agree with 100%. Prunty fair enough but does he really deserve one over Dan Morrisey?!? Tony Kelly though? Might deserve it. He is a fabulous hurler but Darragh O'Donavan has been solid as a rock for Limerick and was a huge part of the reason they shut down Waterford so well. I think he is very unlucky to be left out.
Nothing against Jack O'Connor. He is going to provide the hurling public with great entertainment over the coming years but he was anonymous yesterday. How you could leave Gearoid Hegarty out of that team??? I'm gobsmacked.
The biggest day, the most pressure, the most eyes watching and he was superb. He was hugely instrumental (along with Lynch) in putting Cork on the back foot from the throw in. He was a massive part of creating the foundation for the win. He helped set the tone early and lead by example for those around him to follow.
If he only played one game all year and it was yesterday, he deserves and All-Star for it!
I'd go Murphy in goal and give the rest to Limerick and be done with it.

High tackles around the neck is alright as well, surround your opponent with bodies, he will have to barge, or drop the ball, he won't even be able to hand pass it out...it's going to be impossible to ref, but it you are not willing to bend the rules, you won't beat these lads...

For the last 20 years, Cork have floundered. Over emphasis on out running opponents and highly skillful players. Thats all fine when you have the ball. But not enough ball winners to get them the ball. Every team that forces Cork into long puck outs beats them. KK have done this for years. Besides Harnedy, Cork have not had a ball winning half forward line for 20 years. Until that's resolved and they play more than a one dimensional game, they are going nowhere. That will take a massive mins shift though, to accept they can't just out hurl teams. "Corkness" is getting in the way
