    Hey there,
    In this video I take a look at Flex Seal and Rubber Flexx. Flex Seal is an as seen on TV rubber spray sealer and Rubber Flexx is a rubber spray from Lowes. Flex Seal retails for around $13 and Rubber Flexx retails for just under $10. In this video I put the two rubber sealers to the test to see which one is best. Check out my full review here!

    Hey Jeff after watching your video today, I decided to play along and give this comment. I brought a can of rubber flex from lowes in Lithonia, GA last month to fill a couple of holes left by the large screws from Direct TV Disk I removed from the garage roof, July, 2020. I knew that i would probably have to do several passes before it seal to my satisfaction. I was right with rain looming in the horizon I wanted to see how this product. I was impress, no leaks inside the garage. I did the pipes inside also because I notice a few drops of rain. After spraying a layer or two around the joints, no leaks. I brought 2 more cans just in case. The saying is, it's better to have and not need, than to need and not have. The cost was about $9.00 a can minus my vet discounts. By the way I like your videos, Keep up the good work, Take care and mask and glove up to be safe.

    I used clear Flex Seal spray in my shower where the shower-surround meets the tub. I scrubbed any soap and residue off the tub surround and tub. Both are made of plastic, not fiberglass. After cleaning the surface, I went back over those surfaces with paint thinner to make absolutely sure there were no contaminants on the surface. I wiped it one final time with clean water and allowed it to dry thoroughly overnight. The next morning it was 100% dry, so I sprayed the clear Flex Seal at the bottom edge of my shower-surround and bathtub where they meet. The gap is 1/8th of an inch. I sprayed a thin coat first, waited 5 minutes and sprayed another coat, and then a third 5 minutes later. I wanted to make sure it was thick enough, but not too thick.
    The stuff stinks horribly. It's overwhelming, for sure. I used a box fan to suck air out of my home, blowing the air outside my entrance door to aerate the house. I waited 48 hours to make sure it both, dried and cured. After 48 hours I touched it and it was plenty solid and dry. After showering for two weeks the clear Flex Seal peeled from the shower-surround like a loose onion skin. It simply peeled right off. The initial strong adhesion gave way within that two weeks. I removed the clear Flex Seal using my fingers and a razor blade. It was easy to remove because its adhesion simply failed.
    I used Loctite tub and shower caulk using masking tape to get sharp, straight lines and applied it using a putty knife. It's been on my shower-surround for over two years and it's still as strong and water tight now as it was the day I applied it.
    I can tell you first hand, clear Flex Seal was a total failure, for me. - Period. I challenge anyone to come to my home and apply clear Flex Seal to my shower-surround and prove me wrong. I'm fully willing to offer that challenge because I know it will fail. No one, I'm sure, can apply it any better or more thoroughly, or more critically than I did. It simply didn't work for me.

      @Jeffreviews4u  Před 4 lety +4

      The job you are describing sounds like you needed flex shot instead of flex spray. Flex shot is more like caulking and probably would have the same result as the caulk you used. Thanks for sharing your user experience.

      Getting rubber to stick to a shiny surface would be near impossible, a light sand to give it something to adhere to would make all the difference.

      Flex shot... That could be quite possible. You say the Flex shot is more like a caulk, then I think you might be right about that. Some day I might give it a try. Right now the loctite bathtub / shower caulk is still holding remarkably well. If (when) it fails, I'll give Flex shot a try. -- Thanks.

    As with most spray cans containing anything with adhesive qualities (including paint), you should ALWAYS clean the nozzle before alternate applications to ensure an even spray. 🤔💭

    I Use a lot of Flex Seal. Stopped many leaks IN wet conditions as well. Using from the can or spray the black works better than White or Clear. For a lasting seal it is still best to clean and dry the surface. I’ve never had a Flex Seal spray can clog. For quart and gallons they should sell these in a pour style container like a bleach container. Once the can is opened it is almost impossible to reseal the can enough to save unused product.

    Flex Seal tape works even better when surfaces are free of debris, oils and other contaminates. Also I use a blow dryer just to warm up the tape and lock it all in place. You don’t have to do it but it gives me piece of mind and ensures tight grip.

How effective would these products remain over a period of time outdoors? It's common knowledge that UV light exposure over a period of time is brutal.

      Jeff Reviews4u yes we have use it. It dose work good and last for about 4 years in the Desert southwest and last for around 6 years in
      Midwest that’s when you’re going to start seeing rusting around it from water accumulating in snow accumulating underneath the edges. So it is always a good plan to repair the area will a permanent repair. We have found Henries tropical sealant 100% silicone works better and sticks better. There is a paste and a roll-on version. Not saying that it will fell on a Metal roof and will not have rust issues after 5 or 6 years . It dose work better on mostly every else great 👍. The flux past works good don’t take me wrong but when using in a gutter it not in no way a permanent repair. As the Henries can be as it has the best flux it the surface but beware the Henries is expensive. For a gal. It will run around $75 dollars. I have not seen it smaller the that but I have not looked it up before.
