Yeah it got stretched and un 3 times which I think could have significantly impacted it's structural integrity

The Flex Seal one bucket was better lined up than the Rubber Flex bucket was. But it did bother me that the Rubber Flex bukcet wasn't lined up better, which could have caused problems with the strength test.
@@willywonka8 doesn't matter, if both are misaligned (they were), the one closest to being back aligned can still be worse off.
Test is flawed though cause of the refilling over and over on the knockoff brand, it both softened it up as it started leaking and then stretched it by weight.

Both buckets were offset. The only issue was the offbrand was forced filled first then slowly filled making the seal weakened.

I used both products on a shop roof with a bad leak and I can tell you the leak stopper worked WAY better than flex seal.

there were 2 problems with the test, 1 the misalignment of the bucket when putting it together, if he had properly realigned it, it would improve the chances of both products working, the second problem is that the knockoff brand had to deal with seperate refills which the flex seal didn't.
ultimately the experiment isn't very good at telling the strength of the 2 products.
The "ripoff" was actually invented before flex seal. So you could say that flex seal is a ripoff of that, kinda.

The flex seal is actually thinner. The rubber flexx has more rubber content and less other fluids or solvent.

I used to work at a hardware store and we sold both of those brands and I've heard some very irresponsible stories with both of those products. Like the things people have done with that stuff on work projects. They make great adhesives as well as sealers. They can do some crazy stuff. One may be a better than other but neither are to be underestimated.

On the second test the rubber flex stuff was at a MAJOR disadvantage you put water in the rubber flex bucket multiple times and stopped multiple times giving it time to slowly stretch more than the flex seal was able to.

I've noticed that if you heat it up with a torch while it's applied fresh, it'll sink into all the smaller areas sealing it better, and it cured it once it's cooled down.
Please re-visit this. You added weight to the rubber flex 3 times and that could have messed this all up. Should have filled up flex seal 3 times to give a opportunity to flex

even if the buckets weren't aligned straight, its still really impressive for both of them to hold the buckets together with it being cut completely in half, it gave the product a true strength test, but it sucks that the scale wasn't working to see exactly how strong they were, but it was still impressive.

The knockoff brand wasn't an exactly fair test on the strength test, because you filled it up once and then filled it up a 2nd time, but the rubber could've been potentially weakened by the first pour. Either way, great content. Watch almost everyone you make

The reasom the first test failed on flex seal is because the flex seal doesn't stick to the bucket sticker. The rubber flex had more raw bucket exposed so it was able to hold on better. The surface was not properly prepared for the test.

* When you cut both buckets up and put them together again with silver tape, you did not put the edges together exactly on the same place on both buckets where you cut them with the saw. This results in one bucket having more holes on the side rim, as the edges did not fit perfectly with the other bucket when sprayed with flex. *

Experiment is bias. The flex seal bucket is lined up almost exactly and the non flex seal bucket is no where near lined up
I have used the Rubber Flex on battery boxes after I ground the corrosion away. It worked great. Tonight as I am listening to this video I am Rubber Flexing my snowmobile windshield. I repaired the cracks with auto Goop and now will cover it in Flex Rubber. I ride thru a lot of brush here in AK. And break a lot of windshields on my widetracks. They are $200 a pop to replace. The Auto or Plumbing Goop works great after stop drilling a crack.
That auto Goop is some good stuff.
