It's so nice watching a soap where a scene lasts more than 2 minutes, actually allowing for emotional response.

I wonder what cleaner she is using on that floor? If it is Ajax, then it is the most powerful cleaner with the extra power to cut through the daily dirt, grease, grime and filth we track in. And, if she has children, Ajax has a disinfectant to eliminate 99.9% of household germs. Yes, Ajax, cleaning soap opera kitchens for quite a while now.

In the show's first year, "Love is a Many Splendored Thing" used recorded musical cues before changing to a live organist. Eddie Layton and John Winter assumed that role.
CBS' Lee Jordan was the announcer.

In the 60s ...Anyone remember showing a couple in the bedroom was taboo on tv they only showed on the camera on a closed bedroom door with them talking inside.

Soooo, the police officer's sister left home drunk, she also literally left him holding the bottle. She then drives to the bar and pick up the man that she loves. They, then, leave the bar together. She's still driving. Even though when she left home, she was so drunk that her speech began to slur. I absolutely enjoyed watching this video. It was very modern yet classic at the same time

Back in the 60s, most color TVs had to be finetuned and/or adjusted to bring in a clear signal. Without that finetuning, a color program may seem to be in Black and White. So the networks created those "this program is in color" message to let people know they have to finetune their sets if they aren't getting color. Otherwise, the viewer might just assume that the program was indeed in Black and White.

Part of that block of CBS afternoon soaps I remember my mother watching daily from noon until 3 during the mid 1960s. The only programming that could stop these shows were special news bulletins about political assassinations and rockets to the moon.
