A Rausch yes, I hit a tree helmet first, on my right cheek area. The impact broke my eye socket, messed up my nasal passage and I had damage to my C-5,6,and 7 vertebrae, but because of the brace, it was limited.
I Immediately lost feeling and functionality in my arms, for about 5 minutes, and have no doubt, if it weren’t for the brace, it might have been permanent.

I own and wear a Leatt GPX 5.5. During my travels in Patagonia, I came of my motor bike and landed on my head first then rolled on to my back. Carbon helmet showed a big dent but live to tell the tail. I got myself checked and have a small neck hernia, my Physician told me i was lucky I was wearing the brace else I would have been a quadriplegic or no longer amongst the living. I am avid about motor bike safety and will not compromise, certainly not after my exerience or the motor bike friends I have/had that suffered from not protecting themselves whilst being on a motorbike. Yes I do get a lot of funny comments, like "robocop" and the sorts but in fareness I am the living example of what they can do in case it goes wrong.

Its a damn shame people spend all their money on a nice bike and dont spend a dime on protective gear. In Florida I see riders all the time riding in tshirts and a bandana. You can replace a bike but not your neck or your limbs. So far I have spent 2k on gear and Im not even half done. Actually the gear costs more than my bike. I use ALL the gear all the time. If I dont have time to put on gear, then I just take the car.
I know of at least 2 mothers who are taking care of their sons after bike accidents. More than likely they were riding with a bandana...

Not only does the brace do it's intended job it also has many side benefits. It made me calm down and not be so nervous which translates into a more fun ride and i have learned something new each time. Confidence is key since it is 90% rider 10% bike. I won't EVER ride without my brace.

It did disperse the energy and I fractured the vertebrae in my lower lumbar (which is what is suppose to happen) but I suffered no other neck/collar bone injuries. My Leatt 3.5 showed up the other day. My goal is to wear it more often because I'm starting to take a bit more risks due to my riding progression. It's crazy timing though. My MTB coach was seriously injured in a bike accident the other day. He hit a tree really hard and broke some ribs and injured his spine. Someone I follow on IG broke her collarbone in a race. I know my neck brace won't prevent some of the injuries I mentioned. However it will give me a better chance of not being seriously injured to the point where I can't ride ever again.

I just got one because I was flying down a downhill course on my DH bike. It had rained all week and it was soft and slippery. A berm let go on me a the top rim sending me over the berm into a tree head on. My chest protector took the first impact but then I free gel about 15 feet landing on the right side of my head. I think I actually went end over end in the air before striking my head. My Fox DH helmet cracked down the middle and I woke up a hour later still on the course but nobody else was riding so nobody saw it. My neck hurt so bad along with my head and I kept vomiting trying to stand up. I had a CT scan done and I have a bad concussion almost lacerated my right kidney. I have 3 herniated disk in my cervical and a hematoma the size of a grapefruit over my lower back. As bad as this was I could’ve broke my neck or worse died. So I got a leatte today because I believe my injuries would have minor if I was wearing one of this. I’ll never ride without one again after I heal.

It seems to me that having the helmet and the brace closer together, the angle of the neck during an accident would be less severe, reducing the risk of injury even further. Since helmet manufacturers are most certainly not going to redesign the shapes of their helmets for this purpose, I would say that raising the brace would be the more feasible option. Plus he said it would be more beneficial to wear aneck brace if I hadn't had a repaired neck because I already have aprox 10-15% less neck movement.

Ok, so by that logic, you'd be more pissed about your paint on your truck or car getting effed up when hitting a concrete wall at 30 mph, than the catastrophic body and frame damage. Try a different perspective. I know several people in their 50's or 60's that have had to have to had their neck surgically fused with between 6 and 12 titanium screws and plates from silly little dings. My grandma is 64 and she had to have her neck fused and can't turn her head more than 30 degrees in either direction because she dove into a pool at 16 and smacked her forehead on the bottom. She's in constant pain. She wishes a)it wouldn't have happened, but b) that something would've redirected the force from her neck. I would gladly trade a neck hyper extension for a broken collarbone. Way lesser of two evils, and an these braces are an insurance policy on murphy for sure. Can't be worse than the acl I tore last year.

Didn't bust a thing when I faced into a jump 3 weeks ago. Helmet was fucked (nose cone shattered) and I walked away with bruising and soft tissue dmg. It was by far the biggest off I have had ever and I'm 40.

I’ve heard of more injuries with helmets slamming onto the collarbone if anything the brace will help prevent that even more

Motorcyclists should get fined for not wearing a neck brace and an armour spine protector when out on the road. But many would sacrifice protection for "freedom"

Bullshit! That may help in some crashes... Looks like it'll just be one more edge to land on in most though... If you're dropped straight upside down on the top of your head it's awesome... If you land flat on your back then you land on a fulcrum point like a thumb snapping a pencil.

"The pendulum test" WTF is that supposed to be? I've never even seen a crash anything remotely like that ever, even on CZcams...
If you plan on swinging upside down by your legs on the monkey bars then I'd highly recommend a neck brace, no chance I'm wearing that death noose on a motorcycle!

Ignorant statement from hunter about this company not caring about safety because of the price! First this testing is not done with left over lumber from his dads garage!!!! Next the development and manufacturing! Not cheap to do!! Next the marketing, prices through the roof! Hunter your obviously a young man who knows nothing about the business world or people. The reason to wear a neck brace is to reduce the severity of the potential injury! I know a couple of guys in wheelchairs that wish they had a neck brace on at the time of their crash. Their lives were changed forever.

You are categorically and 100% wrong mate. I have just speared face first into a jump and ate shit. I shattered the nose cone of my 661 and had I not worn the brace, I would have been a quad instantly. I had some bruising on my chest where the rests are and some muscular trouble but I was cleared of any CV joint injuries and it is down to wearing the brace.

too bad the owners of this companies pretend like they care about riders safety like this guy but charge so much for a pond and a half of plastic, reason number one people do not use them "price"

Dude after eating shit on a jump during a race (I faced in and scorpioned over), where I shattered the nose cone of my 661 helmet, I can 100% say that I would buy this brace again in a heartbeat. I am walking and the only thing I have trouble with is the whiplash muscles. I can categorically say the brace did its job. I had some bruising on my chest where the rests sit but that is it. End of the day, how much do you value walking?

Dude...less then a pair of mx boots or half the price of a good helmet..
The reason people don’t wear them is they feel a little restrictive or just complacency in the same way people once worn open face helmets because we thought they were fine...
I currently don’t own one but are most def considering after watching vids like these.
