- This is a short DIY tutorial on how to program a remote key fob for a Toyota Tacoma. My Tacoma is a 2012 model, but these steps work on many other models (2005-2016). The link for the remotes I purchased on Amazon is listed below. Again, thanks for watching!!

My Toyota dealership wanted almost $200 just for one. I paid $20 for two and thankfully because of you it works perfect.

Thank you for this great video. Worked perfectly on my 07 Tacoma. I really appreciate that you get right down to it and don't give the audience the entire genealogical breakdown of your extended family to explain why you made the video. Short and to the point. Just as these videos should be.
Right on, yes I try to cut down to the point 👍
Easy peasy! Programmed both remotes in less than five minutes for 2010 Tacoma.
Works like a champ thank you for taking the time to make this!!! 2007 Tacoma!!

Worked exactly as advertised! Thank you for doing it at a speed that I could follow along as I did it too. The dealership wants an arm and a leg for these things.

@@REALmarktheshark i had the map light on the whole time because it was dark. When i turned it off the sequence worked, or i just got lucky.
@@Kevin01SH hmm intresting
Thank you for this comment! I tried over and over again (with the map light on) and was getting so frustrated it wasn’t working. Then I saw your comment and it worked first try. Thank you!
Always always go to comments if something isn’t working 😭 I turned off the dome light and unplugged accessories and bam it worked
Thanks bro easy tutorial

Just programmed two remotes!! Thanks you're a life saver. Seeing someone do it like is so much better then reading instructions. Follow along > read along.
Quick question would this work with a chipped key?
I appreciate it. Don't quote me, but I don't think it'll work on a chipped key
Worked for my 2013 tacoma
Awesome👍
Thank you for your time
No problem!
I followed these exact instructions with my 09 Tacoma, and it worked like a charm! However, I do have a question about this. When I purchased my Tacoma used, the dealership just gave me a single key, no fobs or anything. I just realized that my Tacoma came stock with remote start as well, so I was just wondering if these remotes are capable of remotely starting the tacoma as well. Thank you!
I'm not sure on that question. Mine doesn't have remot start so I'm not sure if thats a special remote from the dealership
Thanks!
No prob!
Appreciate it bro
Yessir
Both new fob remote key works?programming both at same time?
I have a 2016 Tacoma and I will try it on a pair of fobs that I have from a Corolla that I just recently recked.
Not sure if it'll work, but worth a try.
Thanks my Toyota Tacoma 2008 needed a new remote i ordered from where you recommend it and follow the steps and it really work
Awesome, thanks for watching!
if my tundra has remote start will this program it to
Both key fob works?
Thank you. Great jod.
Thanks for watching👍
Is it different for the 16 sr Tacoma
It will work for Corolla 2009?
👍 have a 2008 Toyota Tacoma, key fob ran out of battery and had to reprogram.
👍👍
Appreciate this video! Quick question, if I want to program both remotes how do I add the second one? Do I start over the entire process for each one or do I hold both at the end?
I just did. And i had to do the same process with de 2nd one👍
Yes correct, start process over for the 2nd remote👍
That was a great and easy demo - One Question:- can I buy the ones with a "key blanks" as well as the programmable portion, and get the keys cut from my original at any hardware store?
I'm not sure if hardware stores can cut car keys but it might be worth a try.
Excellent will it work on my 2018 Toyota Tundra ?
I'm not quite sure, I personally haven't tried it on a Tundra.
It doesn’t want to enter programming mode. Could it be because of an aftermarket alarm system keyless entry that has on the truck? (Tacoma) 07.
It's possible, I haven't encountered any after market alarm systems before. I know my tacoma(2012) is stock. Sorry, wish I could help.
wow
What about the regular key that comes with it, can I take it to home Depot to have it copied or is it a chipped key?
I don't think Home Depot is able to copy car keys
Will replacing truck battery require reprogramming of the fobs again?
No it shouldnt
What if my Tacoma has an alarm key fob already programmed? It’s not OEM key fob but how can I remove that key fob from being programmed on the truck? 07 Tacoma.
So I have the one that programmed that came with the truck, and then I also programmed the 2 in the pack also for backup spares, and for the demonstration for the video
Have you programmed the transponder key for Tacoma?
No I sure haven't tried, my truck just uses the key fobs.
Didn’t work here too (Highlander 2008). But it seems like my car didn’t lock the doors at the last stage. I’ll have to return the fob to Amazon
I'm not sure if it works on highlander. My truck is a Tacoma.
Will this work with the dealer added Karr system ?
I'm not quite sure about that
I thoroughly enjoyed your video but I need to ask my car was bought from a used car dealer which I just found out my key isn’t the master key So what I wanted to ask is could I can I cut a new key 🔑 and put it in the fob and manually program it btw my car is a Toyota Yaris 2009 ?
Hmmm good question. You may have to go to the dealership to have a new key programmed.
@@REALmarktheshark ok thanx mate 👍🏼
Do I need to repeat the procedure for each remote or can I program both remotes at the same time? What is the procedure for two remotes?
Repeat procedure for each remote
Hey Mark the shark! I'm getting it to go in program mode after I hold the two buttons down then hold the one button down the locks keep cycling and it will not program.
One thing to try is open the door at the very end if you haven't already. Also make sure your map light inside is turned off. I've heard that may affect it
My remote has one lock/unlock button, AUX button, and the panic button. What two buttons do I press?
Should be the lock and unlock
Reset 2018 Toyota RAV4 key fob
Ok so I did a little research. You cannot program the remote yourself for a 18' Rav4 keyless push start. My wife has this model.
Does your car have the key ignition start or push start?
Same procedure for the second fob?
Correct
Thanks a lot Boss you save me $120 appreciate it
No prob, glad I could help👍
