    Current y with a soft update - re suspension softening & less road noise would on a discounted price prior to Juniper launch would be great value imo, had one for 400kms recently & both those areas I think could be better. Great video again Derek, looking forward to Feb 17th 👌

    Test drove the new model 3 base model last week in CA - nice experience. Liked the new look both interior and exterior. (even the textile dash - it softens the spartan look) Vent seats great for CA and with two kids the back screen is a +! Also to amend edit - new steering wheel design = much better.
    Main take away - Uncertain about the stalks removal ... likely a getting accustomed to it feature. Was mentioned by the sale rep - that the regen braking system was always active. Really into the Y for the family - but the "wait or not wait" for the refresh is the question for me and this vid brings up some added points to consider for IRL- Appreciate the vpost Derek!

    I ordered a '24 Model Y 2 weeks ago, picked it up a week later at the Tesla Store in Oklahoma City. Got a Austin, TX build Long Range with stealth grey interior and white seats. $41.5K out the door. Already have a 240v 50amp plug in the garage, so easy to charge in my garage. Tesla gave me 5000 miles of free supercharging. Steering wheel stalks are a must have for me, so I'm completely happy with my purchase. In my state, front license plates are not required, so I got to keep the sleek front fascia of the vehicle.

      @vasil7410 Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@bigredog100 Efficiency differences are marginal, at best, because it is purely down to slightly better aerodynamics. And the suspension is better, but much softer tyres cancel out any handling benefits. I honestly didn't think it was much different to my exiting model 3, which is a recent build from China. The lack of an indicator stalk is terrible for trying to indicate when the wheel is turned, you will always have to look down at the wheel and do some mental gymnastics to use the buttons. If you can get a late Chinese or German built model Y, you are better off saving a bunch of money, if have access to discounts.

    Tesla really needs to up its game with the driving range... Hopefully, the new model Y will do just that, all while keeping the price below 40K and all while the 7.5K credit is still available in the US!

    Aren't anyone worried that you buy it today and in 2 months or so one Elon decide to reduce the price? Honest question, because that's the only thing I'm like if I pay today x amount and down the line they drop the price, that would affect the resell value and I'll be felling ripped!! Haha thanks

    I just bought a 2024 Y and got to transfer my FSD from my 2019 model 3 for free, got $2500 off for picking a unit they had in stock locally and got the $7500 tax rebait for the win. Won't get the FSD transfer or $2500 off the new refresh. I paid $6k for FSD on the 2019.

    My current car has a volume rocker on the steering wheel. The amount of cognitive load to adjust the volume (thinking of wheel position and which direction the thing needs to move) while moving the wheel is a lot. How they thought this was ok for something as fundamental as indicator stalks is beyond me.

    People need to relax about the stalks. Change is the nature of life itself. If you drive with the push pull, hands at 180 degrees from each other, instead of dangerously crossing your arms over, then the button indicators are fine. I will gratefully receive all the juniper updates for the tiny sacrifice of adapting to no stalks. Unfortunately so many people are snowflakes and victums theses day🙃
