  • If your treadmill keeps tripping the circuit breaker, it's likely a dead short in the treadmill outlet cord or the treadmill input wires.

    We tackled assembling the bike as a family project. czcams.com/users/postUgkxzg0clhbtRf2gGxPkVETFKJJKGqdsorQu The package is heavy, but I have 2 teen boys that were able to move it. The written instructions were great- we didn't need to watch the videos, but it was good knowing that the option was there if we needed it. After we were able to get it set up, the boys each rode 3 miles and I rode 8 and the bike stayed quiet. The display is easy to reset, and you can put it on whichever setting you are using (time, distance, calories, etc). I will say that my butt is a little sore from the seat, but that could be because I haven't rode in a while. While it is comfortable for me, it was not comfortable with the seat position for my friend (could not move the seat back far enough and he slightly looked like a kid riding a tricycle that he had outgrown). He also said that the seat hurt his manly parts. We are going to look for a different seat that will be compatible with this bike for him.I did purchase the Wahoo Cadence sensor and strapped it to the crank of one of the pedals. This will sync with my Apple Watch, iPhone and will import data in to my Health app. Wahoo does have other sensors available other than cadence. I can also keep either my phone or my iPad on the display and they both feel pretty secure.

    It's not a dead short, it's a GFCI Arc-fault breaker, swap the breaker for a NORMAL breaker problems solved. I had the same issue with my treadmill. Arc-fault breakers don't like brushed motors they will trip with any brushed motor under load. If you want to test, run a heavy duty extension cord out to another outlet that's not on an Arc sense breaker. Most of your outside (GFCI and Arc-Fault) any outlet in the garage, kitchen, bathrooms sometimes in the bedroom are Arc-Fault. These breakers "listen" to the circut to sense arcing which is exactly what a heavy duty brushed motor (like your treadmill) does. When they sense it, they trip. Ham radio operators find this out the hard way also, key the mic and breakers trip. RF loves to seek out powerlines, even the ones running through the walls of your house. Too much RF and CLICK breaker pops. Don't judge the breaker, it's doing exactly what it was designed to do, it's just not very convienient when you need to use it for one of the purposes above. Swap the breaker out and your problem is solved. Check with your local code if you are swapping breakers, some states require arc fault or ground fault (GFCI) breakers in the garage and outdoor outlets in order to maintain electrical code.

    Excellent. QUESTION: Tonight hubby was on treadmill I was on elliptical. All of a sudden circuit blew. Traced it to GFCI. Tried several times and as soon as we plug in the treadmill (not a component), it trips. We'll take it apart tomorrow and look for a bad wire, but if all "looks" ok, what part must we order? THANKS!!!

    Thanks for such a clear, informative video. I checked all the components and everything’s fine, including the switch & power cord, so problem is definitely in the circuit board, which trips the breaker immediately when the treadmill is switched on. Any advice at this point? The circuit board is not dusty or dirty and there are no obviously damaged components. I’m not sure what to do from here...

    I have a Spirit Treadmill that my dad bought between 15-20 years ago. and over the past 2 years it slowly has been having some issues. like the sides of the top part /plastic fell off. but still works. but more recently. when I try to stop and pause it, it often and more and more will take me pushing real hard or just take a few seconds . but last night I was freaked out because I started the treadmill and ran for 10 =15 seconds as it was proably not even up to spee dyet and it went off along with 2 lights. I found out today it was a circuit breaker. we heard it go on. but a few times in a row when I hit on, it stayed, but hit the speed up button an di timmidiately trips. there is quite a bit of dust, haven't done maintenance on it in like 5-7 years as the place that sold it to us used to come every year 2, or 3 to tune everything up. but they have been nonexisnt for over 5 years maybe7 or 8 even. not sure. any ideas? I am hoping it isn't a matter of the motor being bad where it would be more expensive to buy a part than a new machine. and smply put , hope I can use it. I really like this treadmill even though it is old

      If you haven’t lubed it regularly, the strain on electrical components eventually takes them out of specs. This took down my Sole F63. I sent board to Ebay vendor for repair (110$) and put on a new belt (old one had smooth underside), lubed it and it took off! $240 later, runs great!

    • @alr-b3661
      @alr-b3661 Před 9 lety +1

      Jay Wonder No never mask the problem. Breaker is used to protect from overload or short circuit. If none of your electrical components is the issue then check the tension and condition of your drive belt, check to see if the idler and drive rollers are turning properly, otherwise check the condition and tension of your walking belt. You might need to lubricate the walking belt. If the walking belt does not turn properly while walking or running the motor will work harder causing the breaker to trip. Mind you though it is rare but your breaker might be defective so you might need to change the breaker of the same characteristics.

      @treadmilldoctor  Před měsícem +1

      Thank you, this looks to be an international model so I don't have much information on the machine itself but, if it initially tripped the breaker then that was likely due to excessive friction between the belt and deck, see link - www.treadmilldoctor.com/shuts-down-during-a-workout

    • @treadmilldoctor
      @treadmilldoctor  Před 2 lety

      Solution: The walking belt is worn. The incline test is the best test for it if you don't have a way to take a DC amp draw. Put the treadmill at full incline and walk normally. If it takes it longer to shut off or does not shut off at all, you need to replace the walking belt. Be sure to inspect the deck for wear too. If you want to go for a cheap fix (that we don't recommend) try lubricating the walking belt. The best fix is to replace the walking belt and then regularly maintain it and keep the treadmill clean. • @StarTurtleZero
      @StarTurtleZero Před 4 lety

      I think it's what he said in the video, it's likely the friction of the belt against the deck causing too much current draw. Simple solution may be simply to lubricate the belt/deck using silicone spray.

    • @juergenschwab6005
      @juergenschwab6005 Před 3 lety +2

      Most likely you're not using a dedicated outlet and you exceed the AMPS that that outlet has left for your treadmill when you increase the speed from 6 to 8. That will trip the breaker. If you have anything else on that circuit, unplug it and see if that fixes your issue. If it does, you need to upgrade your electric or keep other items off the circuit. If you have indeed a dedicated 20amp line to your treadmill, than its likely that your belt is worn and needs more lubricant or replacing (check deck also if you are going to replace the belt).
