This clip helped me isolate the problem, that it wasn't the motor or the belt and maybe the control board. Another video about the blinking light on that board may assist in your diagnosis. That showed my board to be working too. When I pull off the black and red wires from the board and checked the motor with my drill battery, as Joe suggested here, the motor ran perfectly. When I reconnected the wires the whole Nordictract c850 s ran perfectly. Poor contact to the motor due to mild corrosion. Problem solved until next time. Thanks Joe.

NOTE: This product works exactly as described. czcams.com/users/postUgkxguEIMc_Qwab-3QMTpF6jaRL80hiOOsIN It originally earned a four-star review due to a minor defect (see below). However, the manufacturer's customer service rep (Lita) went above and beyond the call of duty and deserves five stars now. I wish I could give even more!I purchased this item which arrived quickly. Assembly instructions were easy to follow. There was only one problem: One bolt did not screw into the hole properly. I called the company. Their customer service rep (Lita) was terrific! She took all my information and submitted a request to replace the defective part. I'm hoping to finish assembly and start using this treadmill soon. (Fingers crossed...)FOLLOW UP: Lita called back to inform me that the company will send a replacement part AND a technician(!!) to install it properly. AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Thank you!!

Couldn’t figure out why my treadmill wasn’t working. I had given up - not very mechanically inclined. However, as a last resort I thought I’d check CZcams.
As soon as you mentioned recently moving your treadmill, it clicked. I found the Ethernet cable and realized I had bent one of the pins when I reconnected. A few adjustments with needle nose pliers, and I’m back in business. Thanks!

thank you joe, the feed wasn't getting through to the top screen, took it apart and the wire had snap completely in half. was difficult to reconnect as wires were so tiny but with care n patients manage to strip them back enough to twist each colour together then using plenty black insulating tape to separate and make safe.... also wound some the tape around the rest the lead to hopefully strengthen it from future damage etc.
I couldn't believe how dusty it was especially where the motor sits etc. all cleaned up and ha presto it's working again, many thanks joe for your video and help, son n wife happy again.

Thanks for the video! My belt wasnt working but everything else did. It turned on and it inclined/declined just fine, but the belt didnt work. I checked the motor per your instruction by connecting it to a drill battery and the belt worked perfectly. I was thinking its was the data cable because the motherboard looks fine with no corrosion. After a thorough inspection of the data cord is found the the "spokes" on the male data cord was bent and not aligned so it wasnt plugging with the female part correctly. After straighting it out, it works! Thanks so much!!!!!

I will echo the comments by @EricaChiarkas that you are a natural educator. So many presenters on CZcams rush through their dialog, but you took your time like talking to a friend or neighbor across the way. I was able to solve a power issue with my old Triumph T400. Just taking the top cover off allowed me to see that the white power lead had disconnected from the circuit board. I had replaced the power cord a while back and didn't leave enough slack on the wires inside, so of course when I folded up the platform one day after use, the wire was pulled off. Thank you Treadmill Hero!

Hi Joe, I have a Technofit TR300i Treadmill. I live in the UK.
Initially the treadmill was powered on, and there was a POP, which tripped the house breaker, then after the isolator was activated, I switched the treadmill back ON.......Although the power indicator switched (red) ON, nevertheless everything else was dead (the control panel still would NOT light up).
I then removed the plastic base cover and found that the fuse (T 10A H250V) was blown, so I replaced it, and when I switched it back on, the panel now lit up !.....Unfortunately the motor did not turn and instead a fault code E3 is displayed, my next stage is to test my motor as you have described it here using DeWalt drill battery......and I will then let you know if the motor is OK.
PS. The motor speed sensor is of the Optical type. (and not the magnetic one etc)
However, if the motor is fine, then what would be the next step to go about fixing it ?
    Thanks
    SoL

Based on all that, I believe your motor control board popped and took out that fuse in the process. Check the motor to be sure but I think the motor controller is the issue

I’ll definitely run the diagnostic that you have explained here.
Another thing, for past few years the tread has become quite loud. It hasn’t bother me since it’s been moved from bedroom to the garage and I usually have my AirPods on but it used to be very quiet for the longest time. • @treadheroes
      @treadheroes  Před 3 lety +2

Unplug the drive motor from the lower circuit board. Most likely it will be a red and black pair of wires. Then hit start. If the breaker pops with the motor unplugged, your issue is isolated to the circuit board. If it does not, you most likely need a new motor. We also have parts at www.fitnessgraveyard.com hope this helps

I HOPE this helped. I need to open mine up to see. It's a Weslo Cadence R 5.2. I rarely use the thing, it just sits there (like most people's exercise equipment). I was riding 15 miles a day till my mountain bike broke, then I got a new car that doesn't have a tow hitch or room and haven't gotten around to doing all of that. The treadmill was supposed to b the for now exercise. It's always plugged in, I checked the socket, checked the safety plug, it just doesn't turn on. I know it did a few weeks ago, but it hasn't been moved since then. I'll open it up tomorrow and see if anything looks bad. I've been to technical school for computers years ago and still build all my own systems, plus, I have pretty decent mechanical knowledge of things like cars thanks to CZcams, so if it's not super-complicated I'll fix it. If not, I'll throw it on Craigslist for free.

My Horizon CT5.2 was getting E1 error after running 5 - 15 minutes. Found out that it was speed sensor that was not aligned to the magnet properly. Aligned it to fix the E1 issue on it.

Hi, I just want to ask a question about your treadmill because I'm having the same issue with my Horizon T101. How many magnets are on the wheel where your speed sensor wire is? Mine has 1 but its another hole on the adjacent side of the wheel, (Like they should alternate if another one was there. I've changed the control board and tried to adjust the wire and just when I think its fixed I get the E1 code

Really helpful. Thank you. Mine isn't dead yet, but I think it failing (speed somewhat variable and I've had to power down and power up on couple of occasions to get it to work again. So, most likely I'll be back to review this again and contact you if/when it actually fails. Thanks again.

Thank you for taking the time to produce your excellent videos on maintaining a treadmill.
I need your assistance. I have a Sole F80 and while I’m running (7MPH) or walking (4MPH) every now and then the treadmill will stop then speed up rapidly (Fast) and it will give me an Error Code 5 message on the screen. I’ve been thrown off the treadmill twice and I’m lucky it hasn’t caused me a serious injury. Do you have any idea what could be causing this happen?
    Thank you.

Hi Joe, great video. My Diamondback treadmill wasn't working after not using it for a month. Not moved. When turned on it has a very long continuous beep that doesn't stop until turned off. The panel does not light up at all. Key is in proper place.

    Thank you very much Chief!!
My problem is that when the treadmill was turned on, everything it looks normal, but as soon as it runs, it runs wildly and at very dangerous speed and we can not control the speed what so ever. We have called the dealer to fix it (each time cost me 200US$), it was fixed for a while, then it went crazy again.
Any recommendation ho to fix it?
I am thinking of putting a current limiter or a potensiometer at the power supply after the bridge rectifier, jus as a safety measure.
Actually, my wife would be very happy if it can run at the speed of 4 km/h. She does not need anything faster. While for my self, I would rather go cycling than walking for one hour and goes nowhere.
    Cheers from Indonesia.

So I don't hear the "click" when I try to start it up. Do you have a video on how to replace a relay?

hey there thay video was very helpful i have a five year old nordick track incline tread and i has been moved three times as we have moved the incline works it goes all the way up and console works as stated in this video it tells you alotted time and distance but the tread itself does not budge. so I am going to attempt opening up the brain on the bottom and check everything you suggested ... but i was thinking if the incline works fine the motor would be good...
