    It is mindboggling how the Emperor treated some of his sons when he clearly knew perfectly well how to approach the others. Kidnapping Angron and letting him kill half of his legion before he calmed down, stealing Morty's thunder, literally beating up Russ - although that turned out well, or leaving Lorgar without dispelling his delusions about gods. Compare it to Lion or Sanguinius or Corax. It's like he sometimes got high on warpstone before meeting his sons.

      @Ceiling_Gato Před 3 lety +12

      One of my favourite theories is that the Emperor knew fully well that the Heresy would happen eventually (or that he even planned it by himself, just like he fucked over the Thunder Warriors) so he alienated some of the Primarchs, because they would be removed first

    • @BladeTrain3r
      @BladeTrain3r Před 3 lety +11

      I've heard hearsay (or is it heresy?) that big E made a bargain with the Chaos gods and that the Primarchs have had a link to the Warp from the start. I wonder if he didn't bargain half his "sons" away before they were ever conceived.
      Almost makes one feel sorry for the traitors, but then one thinks about the damage they did and pity evaporates in the face of evil.

    Bleach: The ultimate weapon against the Death Guard

  • @Daimon-X
    @Daimon-X Před 3 lety +22

    ‘Like all of the Legions Astartes, they had quirks and customs that were unique to them. The Death Guard differed from many of their brother Legions in the manner of the command structure and ranking, for instance. Tradition had it that the XIV would never number more than seven great companies, although those divisions held far more men than those of other Astartes cohorts like the Space Wolves or the Blood Angels; and while many Legions had the tradition of giving the honorific of ‘first captain’ to the commander of the prime company, the Death Guard also held two more privileged titles, to be bestowed upon the leaders of the Second and Seventh Companies respectively.’
    ‘Caipha Morarg was a Pale Son, a Death Guard born of stock from the Legion’s home world of Barbarus and not, as some were, sired by tribes from Terra. For many among the brotherhood there would always be a schism, a rivalry in place between the ‘original’ warriors of the XIV Legion - the ones who had been known as the Dusk Raiders, who had come to Barbarus when the Emperor arrived there to find His lost son - and the common men whom Mortarion had uplifted from his ragged Death Guard into the Legion’s number, and in whose honour it had been renamed…’
    ‘Rise as a Prince Born of Death. Vengeance awaits you in the realm of men, and with it the blackest, most dire purpose. A slaughter, by which your name will be feared, until the last human soul fades to entropy.’
    Mortarion said the vow without reservation, then.
    ‘I give myself to your banner. My blood and my bone, the unbroken force of my will and the power of my spirit. These are yours to command, if you grant me deliverance.’ His hand found the damaged, cracked blade of his war-scythe and he gripped it hard enough to cut metal and draw blood. ‘By this I so swear.’ He looked down and saw the transformation take hold of him. A force of immeasurable mutational power crashed through his physical form and overwhelmed the pitiful limits of flesh and blood. Mortarion tore away, rising to his feet, changing with each heartbeat. From his spine burst pestilent, insectile wings that quivered and crackled with new change. His soul soaked in the corrupting energy, dying and living, reborn and obliterated. The flesh across his gaunt features pulled tight, dragging his mouth into a rictus grin.
    The smile of Death itself.
    He would endure…’
    ‘Death means nothing to those blessed by the Grandfather. You have seen that with your own eyes. You see it before you now.’ The mutant’s foul breath curdled in the cold. ‘Straight-Arrow Garro. Always apart, even when you were a battle-captain. But when the Legion emerges reborn, all those old divisions will be swept away forever. Terran and Barbarun, Dusk Raider and Death Guard, traitor and loyalist. Those terms will mean nothing. We will all be united under the Mark. The three. The seven. The whole.’ The creature struggled to disengage, but Garro held firm. ‘We will never know weakness. We will never die.’ - Neverborn known us The Lord of Flies.
    ‘Even before the Death Guard had given themselves over to Nurgle, they had a reputation as implacable warriors, able to endure punishment far beyond that of the other Legions. Relentless, unbreakable and as unstoppable as an incoming tide - that had been the defining characteristics of the Legion before they had thrown in their lot with the Plague Father, and his touch upon them had exaggerated these qualities even further…’ - From the memories of Brother Enusat, First Acolyte of the 34 Host of the XVII Legion.

Would it have made a difference in Amgrons attitude towards his gene father ? Not likely. What if the Emporer in his psychic foresight saw what had to happen in the long game to defeat Chaos and he is sitting on the Golden Throne as part of his end game ? Just a thought.
