Some info about the band.
Asami, Vocals and Piano. She trained as a Ballet Dancer before becoming a singer. Prior to Lovebites she was a Jazz and R&B singer.
Midori, Guitar. She is the blond 'Amazon Warrior'. ESP Guitars.
Miyako, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards. She is the one with long black hair. Dean and Gibson Guitars. A classically trained pianist from age 3, only taking up guitar in her late teens, as also did Midori. Both are 'Lead Guitar', the harmonised solos being their 'trade mark'.
Miho, Bass. ESP Bass Guitar. She is co founder of the band, along with,
Haruna, Drums.
Miho and Haruna were both in Destrose, a band that disbanded in 2015, these two ladies forming Lovebites the following year.Miho left Lovebites for personal reasons in 2021, being replaced in 2022 by then 20 year old Fami.
Fami has her own YT channel with near 700,000 subs.
In 2019 Lovebites did a tour of the UK with Dragon Force. There is a video on YT in which the 'missing sixth member' of Lovebites appears on stage in the form of Herman Li in a white dress 😄

Even in the Japanese metal scene, white was considered taboo, and there was a danger that people would not accept it and would isolate themselves. Still, "We don't care if I have to be a lone wolf. We will do what we want to do." They chose white feminine stage costumes. And they made the wolf the symbol of their band. And their fans began to call themselves the "WolfPack".

Here some information about them:
The band was formed in 2016 by original bassist Miho and drummer Haruna. Their first EP and album came out in 2017. So far LOVEBITES have released 4 albums, some Singles/EPs and also a bunch of DVD/Blu-ray live recordings.
Back in 2018/2019 LOVEBITES have already toured in Europe, including appearances at the major metal festivals as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop. In 2018 they also won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band.
Then came covid, their original bass player and founder Miho quit the band for personal reasons and two babies were born. After a break LOVEBITES came back with new bassist Fami and new song „Judgement Day“ in late 2022. A new album with the same title came out in February 2023.
This year in June LOVEBITES‘ first world tour starts in Europe. In September they will play their biggest headline show ever in Tokyo. After that LOVEBITES will have their US debut …

She has an amazing vocal range and vibrato, writes most of the lyrics, also did parts of the song writing for their latest 2 albums, she is a former ballerina and RnB/soul singer
Miyako on guitars, piano, keyboards (the golden touch):
She is the musical brain of the band, main composer and arranger, a soulful but also shreddy guitar player and concert level pianist, furthermore she is a gear nerd
Midori on guitars (crazy shredder):
Incredibly fast and technical guitar player, has contributed to songwriting for a few of their songs, also she is a body fitness athlete
Haruna on drums (little big engine):
Plays very fast pace over long distances, she is very efficient and her stamina is admirable, the cymbal work is outstanding, she also wrote one of their songs including lyrics, creates handmade miniature fake food
Fami on bass since 2022 (shining fingers):
Absolute bass prodigy with outstanding technique, she speaks faster than sonic speed as she plays and smiles non-stop
Miho on bass until 2021 (natural born headbanger):
We will never forget her, she is a great bass player, she wrote several of the songs for the band’s albums 1-3

LOVEBITES is a five-piece all-female, Japanese heavy metal band with deep musicianship (plus classical music/piano background). You'll find that most LOVEBITES fans also like Band Maid and vice versa. Band Maid play pop-rock to hard rock, but LOVEBITES play Heavy Metal.

They play Eclectic Metal. It means they blend as the first band in history all kind of metal mainly power and thrash with NWOBHM,

No need to worry, many Maidiacs are also members of the Wolfpack. Japanese rock and metal are on fire, led by the ladies. Lovebites recently went on a two year hiatus while they waited out the pandemic and searched for a new bassist, after their founder and original bassist left the band for personal reasons. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later.
They did their first live performances in more than two years in summer of 2023, with their new bassist Fami. Their very first show was commemorated on the DVD “Knocking on Heaven’s Gate”. They have posted four performances from that DVD:

Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet).
Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing.
In mid-2021, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They went on hiatus while they searched for a new bassist, and during that time, two of them had babies, even as the band were writing and rehearsing their new album. They recently announced the new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. The instrumentalists studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining.
They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band."

In 2020, their career was abruptly interrupted by Corona. But they masterfully overcame the crisis, got married and had babies. In 2021 the founder Miho left the band for personal reasons and it went into a hiatus which lasted until the end of 2022. In the fall of 2022 they found a young fantastic bass player and in 2023 they released a new LP. The new LP reached the 5th place in the Japanese charts. Japan is the 2nd largest music market in the world and it is very rare that in these times a rock band comes so far forward.

Congratulations, you have discovered my favorite band! I didn't even know they existed until about seven months ago. You have an amazing journey ahead of you, every song these ladies do are incredible and their live versions are the way to go. 🤘🎸🥁💥
For other Japanese bands to check out, I recommend Mary's Blood, Aldious, Mardelas, Asterism, Trident, Paradoxx, Destrose, just to get started, there is a large number of bands, many of them all-female, in the Japanese music scene right now.
Now you gotta do the band that made this possible.
Aldious were the first All Female Metal band to be commercially successful in the modern era opening the doors to all yhe Female bands that followed.

Welcome to the Japanese rabbit hole of insanely talented musicians, especially all female bands. Band Maid are the Queens of Rock with some Punk influences and here you just experienced the Queens of Metal and the various sub-genres that these musicians play and the utter experience, especially LIVE, they leave you with. Petite women who wear their femininity proudly but who turn into metal goddesses on stage in heels and gowns. While small in stature no one stands taller or plays better LIVE than these musicians.

LOVEBITES was formed in 2016 by Miho(Ba) and Haruna(Dr), members of the band "DESTROSE", which went on hiatus in 2015.
The girls made their major label debut in 2017 (March 24) with "THE LOVEBITES EP".
On 18 June 2018, LOVEBITES won '🏆BEST NEW BAND' at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods 2018 awards organised by the British metal magazine METAL HAMMER.
On 4 August, LOVEBITES performed on the W.E.T stage at WACKEN OPEN AIR 2018, one of the world's largest annual metal festivals in Germany, with the 10,000 capacity venue almost full.
"Bloodstack open air 2018(Aug. 10)" also participated.
On August 20,2018, LOVEBITES announced that it has partnered with X-ray Touring, one of the largest players in the UK booking agent industry.
LOVEBITES toured the Netherlands, Germany, France and UK from November 13-21, 2018.
Asami (Vo) of LOVEBITES appeared as a guest on stage at Halestorm "Download Japan 2019(March 21)", singing alongside "Lzzy" Hale on Halestorm's 'Love Bites', which gave the band their name.
LOVEBITES performed as a support band for "Arch Enemy's China tour at the Shanghai show on March 23 and the Beijing show on March 24, 2019".
LOVEBITES participated in "dowload Festival 2019(June 15)".
And Asami of LOVEBITES appeared as a guest on stage at Halestorm Download Festival UK 2019, singing alongside "Lzzy" Hale on Halestorm's "Love Bites" again after Japan.
LOVEBITES join DragonForce on UK tour 2019(Nov. 2-14).
On 2 December 2019, LOVEBITES was the support act for the Tokyo leg of Halestorm's Japan tour.
On January 10, 2020, a headline show was held at the venue "The Colosseum™" in the resort hotel Hard Rock Hotel Singapore Resorts World™ Sentosa.

On 17 August 2021, LOVEBITES took an extended break after the departure of their leader, bassist Miho.
The remaining girls organised an audition for a new bassist from around the world and recruited a new bassist called Fami(Ba).
Fami is a five-string bassist who can dance, sing and play and has 695,000 CZcams subscribers.

The Japanese metal/rock scene is incredible. so many elite muscians. Lovebies is the most talented metal band I've heard in 5 decades of listening to all the big boys. In terms of musicianship they are without peer.
you have just scratched the surface..
I think you should see nemophila now and continue seeing the best metal band Lovebites of the last 20 or 30 years, if possible live, they never disappoint.
What about East of Eden (This moment - MV) and Gacharic Spin (I wish I - there is a live version) - two different kind of bands, from Japan, but worth to be seen.

Greatest band on the planet today....LOVEBITES =PERFECTION
My only issue with this song is that it's _so_ similar to "Wolf and Raven" by Sonata Arctica. Now I can't hear one without thinking of the other. That said, this has become the de facto introduction song for LOVEBITES, and it's a fair representation of what they're all about. They're primarily a power and thrash metal band but dip into other subgenres. Miyako, the brunette guitarist, is a fantastic pianist, but you'll see that soon enough if you stick with LB.
Since you mentioned them, I'd suggest you listen to both Gacharic Spin and Unlucky Morpheus before Doll$boxx. The instrumentalists in Doll$boxx are from Gacharic Spin and the vocalist is the great Fuki from Unlucky Morpheus. If I was putting together a metal band of existing Japanese vocalists, I'd want Fuki for my singer and I wouldn't have to think twice. I always recommend the live version of "Black Pentagram" or the official video of "Unending Sorceress" for Unlucky Morpheus.
Yes, they are most excellent - bit too "metal" for my tastes, more specific her vocals, but I ALWAYS make a point of recommending them to friends, and aquaintances, who like that end of the rock/metal spectrum!
And if you thought that was great, check out something like Set the World on Fire, Hammer of Wrath or Break the Wall. Almost Slayer like.
