Had this wild dude in high school who was in JROTC. He would wear a weight vest and ankle weights to school everyday and the dude ran a 4:20 mile. It was insane.
Well I can't do that... But about a month ago I did 45 flights of stairs going down every 15 flights... So I tried to do this hill about a block from us. It's about four blocks long, not sure of the grade but it's fairly steep for the city and I could only go about 2/3 of the way before having to walk. So I checked on why this was harder than doing stairs and apparently it's because your legs are constantly fighting the grade unlike stairs which give you a solid platform to climb to the next step.
I don't know what I'm more impressed with, this guy beating the mile time mark, or the fact that he didn't get hit by a car doing it. Lol I'm just letting you know stateside. I don't know if you could be able to pull something like that off, those people were too courteous. Then again, if everything is so close in Europe however, It might explain why nobody made a fuss about it.
Very dangerous to push that hard on such an aggressive gradient. The combination of close-to-all-out effort plus the extra impact and increased speed from the added drop makes injury far more likely than on flat ground.
Sub 5 minutes is still blazing fast no matter how you look at it. Sub 4 has to do with genetics, not training. Most people could train their entire life and never hit sub 4. The fastest two mile I've ever done was 12:04 but there was a guy I knew who ran 10:10... Fucking insane
Thanks.. I tried sub 4 minute Kilometer... I was breathing like a dinosaur after that.. And i think, I was sprinting the whole way... I've a long way to go

There is plenty of information out there on the internet, but its important to remember that everyone is different in how they improve. Depending on your age you will need to train differently. Its also important to note that if you are young and have not yet gone through puberty than 5:50 is a good time. Don't push yourself to hard. Make note of your mileage, if it is low try to slowly increase it, if it is high try to switch up the workouts you are doing. Make sure all your mileage is quality, I know many coaches that say their kids are doing 40 miles a week when in reality they are doing closer to 20(junk mileage helps no-one). Better other parts of your life such as diet, weight lifting and your work/fun (or school/fun)life. By diet understand that I don't mean you should cut weight unless your are overweight, there is no perfect running weight at healthy levels (everyone has a different level were they preform best). Just eat health foods until you are full, don't try to trick yourself into thinking something unhealthy is healthy. (find your maintenance calories and maintain) Lifting will not bulk you up if you are also running, it will only improve your ability's.
@@benjaminducheny2237 I don't remember why I commented that, but i believe I said I was 30 because you said that it "depends on your age how you train" i guess I was hoping i would get a guide on how to train at my age aside from everything else that you wrote.
