THATS WHY WE NEED MORE security in our schools😢
Kids should not go through that
There were cops at the school before the shooting even started... arguably made it worst.
I agree, we have 5 schools in our town, that share an officer, all the schools are far apart from each other...
They should keep securing but just ban the guns!
We need less guns

Almost 300 big dudes with high powered weapons, standing around with their thumbs in their ears to hide the sound of gunshots and screams, and did nothing while children and some teachers were blown away. Some kids had to be identified by their clothing. The little 10 year old girl who called 911, waiting for someone to help, covering herself and a few other kids that were alive in her room with the blood of the dead, incase the shooter returned. They could hopefully play dead if he did. There she is on the bus, crying for her parents and at that point, not allowed to see them.
Oh Texas, be proud.

That's my baby boy, it's hard to watch these moments, even now.
He had been in the lunch room when they were told to hide behind the tables on the stage area until they were evacuated. I was waiting at the unification site and didn't see him until 1:30. The first thing he asked me was what was happening, at that time I was still in complete disbelief & told him I wasn't even sure but I know it was something really bad. He still has difficult days where that day haunts him, he realizes that just as easily as the shooter went in those classrooms he could of entered anywhere & it could have been him 💔

So many official buildings, like broadcast stations, government buildings, even sports arenas have armed guards and metal detectors. At this point in our history the same sentiment needs to immediately be implemented into public and private schools. Protect Our Children !!
This never happened in schools until Columbine so everyone should be asking themselves what changed in Americas culture in 1999?
@@Nic2shywhat are you talking about? there have been hundreds of school shootings before columbine. do your research. its a bit insensitive to act like all the victims from before disnt exist. now something has changed and i think its widespread news coverage. most shooters were inspired by past ones who used to not be documented and easily accesible to everyone. why would you be a school shooter if you dont know what one is?

I can also relate I went to Pearl High school in MS where the first sPchool shooting in America took place there in the late 90s.
I had teachers who were there as students at the time and some as teachers when it happened along with my brother and his friends.
I remember in class I would stare at the door to the classroom in my desk and just think about what I would do if that was to happen again and how I would handle the situation. It really took away from my ability to pay attention in class. Not to mention I had crippling panic attacks as a child with this being partly why. The thought of losing my brother or someone coming and shooting up our elementary or JR high while I was there was always on mind. From 3rd grade till 12th grade. And we had many bomb threats and Evacuations during my years of attending school there. I feel for these kids. I can only imagine what that was like being there that day of horror…😔☹️
He traumatized those kids. Even parents are paranoid. Rip to those kids and teachers

I live in Texas. I was a sophomore in high school when I first heard about it on the news. I remember feeling saddened, angry, and just overall terrified that this happened mere hours to my city where I live. I can't imagine the guilt and the pain that the parents feel for leaving their children there on that day. It is not their fault, though. They did the right thing: trying to get their children an education. I have to say, it is very scummy and disgusting, let alone disturbing to even consider going and shooting up a school, especially when it's full of little innocent children. It's psychotic. I give love and respect to the parents, and to all the victims of any school shooting ever. 💔
My heart goes out to the teachers family and the students family I couldnt imagine sending my kid to school for the day and then they dont return ever

My moms friends niece died in the shooting RIP 🕊❤️
One time the college across my school got shot up. One of the teachers died. At that time I was in 6th grade and my dad was working next to that college doing construction. Now I am in 7th grade and 3 weeks ago someone threatened to shoot up our school. Now me and my friends are making up plans on where to run if it happens to us. We are 12 year olds planning our escape if a school shooting happens. I hate going to school way more now. Why should we go to school worried about if we are going to make it home that day? Nobody deserves this. I'm constantly thinking about it and I am losing sleep. I wasn't even in the college when it happened but I'm traumatized. Why does it have to be the kids that always pass away 😭😭😭😭😭
Because it was a school dhooting?
The fact we are still letting our children be together in a building without armed guards protecting them is mind boggling.
As long as guns exist crazy people are going to use them against children. Thats that. Period. End of story. Kids need protection from them.
Yet this wasn't a problem throughout the majority of American history.
The problem is with the system itself & the evil people & culture teaching & preaching hate to kids.
Also, if you cram a bunch of kids together all day & reinforce the idea that the bullies will always get their way because no one does their damned job protecting the kids, the kids will find solutions themselves & since talking to bullies or asking adults for help doesn't work, the edutainment culture keeps reinforcing that violence, often outright murder, is the way to make problems go away permanently.
We need protection against ourselves, since some value their guns over children’s lives. It’s no wonder the people of this planet look at us and shake their heads. Mind-numbing.
It's not just guns. Remember Oklahoma City, the Murrah Building where children died? The was fertilizer and fuel oil. Google "Bath School Disaster". No guns there either.
its not guns or weaopons. its as long as humans exist this will happen, but it can be stopped
That poor boy sounded like traumatized I would be too

Their voices say it all 😢
as someone who has been in a school shooting, i have never regretted something more in my life. i was 9, and it was aftercare. it was only me and 8 other kids. we hid underneath the desks and every one was spelling out words in sign language to talk. our 19 year old instructed spelled, S-T-A-Y D-O-W-N. I-N B-U-I-L-D-I-N-G. i was THE anxiety kid, and i will never ever have enough thanks for the kid next to me, he was a boy 2 years older than me, and was my neighbor, for scooting away and giving me room while i was having a panic attack under the desk, and he covered my mouth. the shooter was dressed in all black and I SWEAR i saw him look through the window, and everyone else did too, because we all looked at each other. before all this was happening and it was just a warning, this guy who teased me was telling the guy who covered my mouth that he was sorry for him, having to live next to me. then that same kid signed sorry to me under the desk across from me.
My brother was in that school and survived, but me and he are still terrified of that situation and we had to move to another country that is more safe, but nothing will change with the family of his best friend😢
I am so, so thankful that we have a police station, not even down the street. Its right across from my school.

yeah. well if your side continues to think and pray, its going to keep happening.
@@ThatOpalGuy why did “your side” turn down a bill that would federally fund putting armed police in every public school for a little over the next decade?
Along party lines, one party was for it, one was against it. Oh well, at least I live in a state where that already exits.
Evil is evil. It will always exist, and no law will ever make it go away. The solution is to minimize opportunity, because you will never eradicate the problem.

Do you think we get a "One year since the Nashville shooter?"
Don't think so.
Yes we did and Uvalde was a majority cristian school ya know what we don’t get though one year since Pittsburg synagogue shooting 1 year since Wellington mosque attack 1 year since BLM shooter when a white sựpermisitstm shot 10 peaceful protesters
In my opinion, while yes, the Nashville school shooting was tragic with 3 children and 3 adults losing their lives, 19 students and 2 teachers lost their lives in the uvalde shooting, not to mention that some kids were mutilated so much that their bodies had to be identified by their clothes, some of the surviving students had to cover themselves in their dead classmate's blood to fool the shooter into believing they were dead. but I most definitely agree with your statement. However, we need more than just a memorial day, we need an actual change, so this doesn't EVER happen again. you and I both know that something needs to change, but no one agrees on anything, but if no one agrees on anything, nothing will be done.
This is why some people dont know what they are doing, they make other people so depressed, they get traumas, but those shooters just don’t care..
Kids shouldn’t be afraid to go to school. But people like this make it like that
The people who say “oh I want a school shooting to happen at mine” or more like that (I’ve heard people say that) you don’t know how scary it is once you experience it I’ve went through a lock down a real one but it was bc there was a fight with high schoolers right next to our school but here’s my story
So all of 7th grade class was outside doing sum project then out of no where our teachers say “EVERYONE RUN TO THE LUNCH ROOM RIGHT NOW!” She just repeated that over and over and everyone was run all over and I didn’t hear her so I just thought she said we were going back inside so I just waited for my friend to come back from the bathroom and I heard the teachers yell the thing I said and I was so scared bc I didn’t know if it was a drill or it was a real lockdown I found my friend (she’s my ex friend now:/) but anyways everyone ran to the lunch room I didn’t wait for anyone even tho I said d I was waiting for a friend but that was bc I didn’t know what she was saying but then I just ran to the lunch room and I had a pen so I thought it was a weapon just bc but that was the scariest moment ever at my school atleast for me.
